Proverbs 4

Послушайте, деца, бащина поука и внимавайте, за да знаете разум,

Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

понеже ви давам добро учение — не оставяйте наставлението ми.

For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

Защото и аз бях син на баща си, гален и единствен на майка си,

For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

и той ме наставляваше и ми казваше: Нека сърцето ти държи думите ми! Пази заповедите ми и живей!

He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Придобий мъдрост, придобий разум! Не забравяй и не се отклонявай от думите на устата ми.

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Не я оставяй и тя ще те пази; обичай я и ще те закриля.

Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

Началото е мъдрост; придобивай мъдрост и с всичко придобито придобивай разум.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Издигай я, и ще те възвиси; ще ти донесе почит, когато я прегърнеш.

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

Ще положи на главата ти благодатен венец; ще ти даде славна корона.

She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Слушай, сине мой, и приеми думите ми, и ще ти се умножат години на живот.

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Наставлявах те в пътя на мъдростта, водих те по прави пътища.

I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Когато ходиш, стъпките ти няма да бъдат стеснени и когато тичаш, няма да се спънеш.

When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

Хвани се здраво за поуката, не я изпускай, пази я, защото тя е животът ти.

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Не влизай в пътеката на безбожните и не ходи в пътя на злите;

Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

отбягвай го, не минавай по него, отвърни се от него и продължи.

Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

Защото те не заспиват, ако не сторят зло, и сън не ги хваща, ако не спънат някого,

For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

понеже ядат хляба на нечестието и пият виното на насилието.

For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

Но пътеката на праведните е като светлата зора, която свети все по-ярко, докато стане съвършен ден.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Пътят на безбожните е като мрак — те не знаят от какво се спъват.

The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Сине мой, внимавай в думите ми, приклони ухото си към моите слова.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Да не се отдалечат от очите ти, пази ги вътре в сърцето си,

Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

защото те са живот за тези, които ги намират, и изцеление за цялото им тяло.

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Повече от всичко, което пазиш, пази сърцето си, защото от него са изворите на живота.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Отмахни от себе си нечестни уста и отдалечи от себе си лъжливи устни.

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Нека очите ти гледат напред и нека погледите ти бъдат насочени право пред теб.

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Внимавай в пътя на краката си и всичките ти пътища нека бъдат уредени.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Не се отклонявай нито надясно, нито наляво; отклони крака си от зло.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
