Psalms 145

En lovsang av David. Jeg vil ophøie dig, min Gud, du som er kongen, og jeg vil love ditt navn evindelig og alltid.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

Hver dag vil jeg love dig, og jeg vil prise ditt navn evindelig og alltid.

Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

Herren er stor og høilovet, og hans storhet er uransakelig.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

En slekt skal lovprise for den annen dine gjerninger, og dine veldige gjerninger skal de forkynne.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

På din majestets herlighet og ære og på dine undergjerninger vil jeg grunde.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Og om dine sterke og forferdelige gjerninger skal de tale, og dine store gjerninger vil jeg fortelle.

And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

Minneord om din store godhet skal de la strømme ut og synge med fryd om din rettferdighet.

They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

Herren er nådig og barmhjertig, langmodig og stor i miskunnhet.

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

Herren er god imot alle, og hans barmhjertighet er over alle hans gjerninger.

The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

Alle dine gjerninger skal prise dig, Herre, og dine fromme skal love dig.

All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

Om ditt rikes herlighet skal de tale og fortelle om ditt velde,

They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

for å kunngjøre for menneskenes barn dine veldige gjerninger og ditt rikes herlighet og ære.

To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

Ditt rike er et rike for alle evigheter, og ditt herredømme varer gjennem alle slekter.

Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

Herren støtter alle dem som faller, og opreiser alle nedbøiede.

The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

Alles øine vokter på dig, og du gir dem deres føde i sin tid.

The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

Du oplater din hånd og metter alt levende med velbehag.

Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Herren er rettferdig i alle sine veier og miskunnelig i alle sine gjerninger.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

Herren er nær hos alle dem som kaller på ham, hos alle som kaller på ham i sannhet.

The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Han gjør efter deres velbehag som frykter ham, og han hører deres rop og frelser dem.

He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Herren bevarer alle dem som elsker ham; men alle de ugudelige ødelegger han.

The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

Min munn skal uttale Herrens pris, og alt kjød skal love hans hellige navn evindelig og alltid.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
