Luke 21

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

عیسیٰ نے نظر اُٹھا کر دیکھا کہ امیر لوگ اپنے ہدیئے بیت المُقدّس کے چندے کے بکس میں ڈال رہے ہیں۔

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

ایک غریب بیوہ بھی وہاں سے گزری جس نے اُس میں تانبے کے دو معمولی سے سِکے ڈال دیئے۔

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ اِس غریب بیوہ نے تمام لوگوں کی نسبت زیادہ ڈالا ہے۔

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

کیونکہ اِن سب نے تو اپنی دولت کی کثرت سے کچھ ڈالا جبکہ اِس نے ضرورت مند ہونے کے باوجود بھی اپنے گزارے کے سارے پیسے دے دیئے ہیں۔“

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

اُس وقت کچھ لوگ بیت المُقدّس کی تعریف میں کہنے لگے کہ وہ کتنے خوب صورت پتھروں اور مَنت کے تحفوں سے سجی ہوئی ہے۔ یہ سن کر عیسیٰ نے کہا،

As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

”جو کچھ تم کو یہاں نظر آتا ہے اُس کا پتھر پر پتھر نہیں رہے گا۔ آنے والے دنوں میں سب کچھ ڈھا دیا جائے گا۔“

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

اُنہوں نے پوچھا، ”اُستاد، یہ کب ہو گا؟ کیا کیا نظر آئے گا جس سے معلوم ہو کہ یہ اب ہونے کو ہے؟“

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”خبردار رہو کہ کوئی تمہیں گم راہ نہ کر دے۔ کیونکہ بہت سے لوگ میرا نام لے کر آئیں گے اور کہیں گے، ’مَیں ہی مسیح ہوں‘ اور کہ ’وقت قریب آ چکا ہے۔‘ لیکن اُن کے پیچھے نہ لگنا۔

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

اور جب جنگوں اور فتنوں کی خبریں تم تک پہنچیں گی تو مت گھبرانا۔ کیونکہ لازم ہے کہ یہ سب کچھ پہلے پیش آئے۔ توبھی ابھی آخرت نہ ہو گی۔“

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

اُس نے اپنی بات جاری رکھی، ”ایک قوم دوسری کے خلاف اُٹھ کھڑی ہو گی، اور ایک بادشاہی دوسری کے خلاف۔

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

شدید زلزلے آئیں گے، جگہ جگہ کال پڑیں گے اور وبائی بیماریاں پھیل جائیں گی۔ ہیبت ناک واقعات اور آسمان پر بڑے نشان دیکھنے میں آئیں گے۔

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

لیکن اِن تمام واقعات سے پہلے لوگ تم کو پکڑ کر ستائیں گے۔ وہ تم کو یہودی عبادت خانوں کے حوالے کریں گے، قیدخانوں میں ڈلوائیں گے اور بادشاہوں اور حکمرانوں کے سامنے پیش کریں گے۔ اور یہ اِس لئے ہو گا کہ تم میرے پیروکار ہو۔

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

نتیجے میں تمہیں میری گواہی دینے کا موقع ملے گا۔

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

لیکن ٹھان لو کہ تم پہلے سے اپنا دفاع کرنے کی تیاری نہ کرو،

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

کیونکہ مَیں تم کو ایسے الفاظ اور حکمت عطا کروں گا کہ تمہارے تمام مخالف نہ اُس کا مقابلہ اور نہ اُس کی تردید کر سکیں گے۔

And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

تمہارے والدین، بھائی، رشتے دار اور دوست بھی تم کو دشمن کے حوالے کر دیں گے، بلکہ تم میں سے بعض کو قتل کیا جائے گا۔

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

سب تم سے نفرت کریں گے، اِس لئے کہ تم میرے پیروکار ہو۔

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

توبھی تمہارا ایک بال بھی بیکا نہیں ہو گا۔

In your patience possess ye your souls.

ثابت قدم رہنے سے ہی تم اپنی جان بچا لو گے۔

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

جب تم یروشلم کو فوجوں سے گھرا ہوا دیکھو تو جان لو کہ اُس کی تباہی قریب آ چکی ہے۔

Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

اُس وقت یہودیہ کے باشندے بھاگ کر پہاڑی علاقے میں پناہ لیں۔ شہر کے رہنے والے اُس سے نکل جائیں اور دیہات میں آباد لوگ شہر میں داخل نہ ہوں۔

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

کیونکہ یہ الٰہی غضب کے دن ہوں گے جن میں وہ سب کچھ پورا ہو جائے گا جو کلامِ مُقدّس میں لکھا ہے۔

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

اُن خواتین پر افسوس جو اُن دنوں میں حاملہ ہوں یا اپنے بچوں کو دودھ پلاتی ہوں، کیونکہ ملک میں بہت مصیبت ہو گی اور اِس قوم پر اللہ کا غضب نازل ہو گا۔

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

لوگ اُنہیں تلوار سے قتل کریں گے اور قید کر کے تمام غیریہودی ممالک میں لے جائیں گے۔ غیریہودی یروشلم کو پاؤں تلے کچل ڈالیں گے۔ یہ سلسلہ اُس وقت تک جاری رہے گا جب تک غیریہودیوں کا دور پورا نہ ہو جائے۔

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

سورج، چاند اور ستاروں میں عجیب و غریب نشان ظاہر ہوں گے۔ قومیں سمندر کے شور اور ٹھاٹھیں مارنے سے حیران و پریشان ہوں گی۔

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

لوگ اِس اندیشے سے کہ کیا کیا مصیبت دنیا پر آئے گی اِس قدر خوف کھائیں گے کہ اُن کی جان میں جان نہ رہے گی، کیونکہ آسمان کی قوتیں ہلائی جائیں گی۔

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

اور پھر وہ ابنِ آدم کو بڑی قدرت اور جلال کے ساتھ بادل میں آتے ہوئے دیکھیں گے۔

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

چنانچہ جب یہ کچھ پیش آنے لگے تو سیدھے کھڑے ہو کر اپنی نظر اُٹھاؤ، کیونکہ تمہاری نجات نزدیک ہو گی۔“

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

اِس سلسلے میں عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں ایک تمثیل سنائی۔ ”انجیر کے درخت اور باقی درختوں پر غور کرو۔

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

جوں ہی کونپلیں نکلنے لگتی ہیں تم جان لیتے ہو کہ گرمیوں کا موسم نزدیک ہے۔

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

اِسی طرح جب تم یہ واقعات دیکھو گے تو جان لو گے کہ اللہ کی بادشاہی قریب ہی ہے۔

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ اِس نسل کے ختم ہونے سے پہلے پہلے یہ سب کچھ واقع ہو گا۔

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

آسمان و زمین تو جاتے رہیں گے، لیکن میری باتیں ہمیشہ تک قائم رہیں گی۔

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

خبردار رہو تاکہ تمہارے دل عیاشی، نشہ بازی اور روزانہ کی فکروں تلے دب نہ جائیں۔ ورنہ یہ دن اچانک تم پر آن پڑے گا،

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

اور پھندے کی طرح تمہیں جکڑ لے گا۔ کیونکہ وہ دنیا کے تمام باشندوں پر آئے گا۔

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

ہر وقت چوکس رہو اور دعا کرتے رہو کہ تم کو آنے والی اِن سب باتوں سے بچ نکلنے کی توفیق مل جائے اور تم ابنِ آدم کے سامنے کھڑے ہو سکو۔“

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

ہر روز عیسیٰ بیت المُقدّس میں تعلیم دیتا رہا اور ہر شام وہ نکل کر اُس پہاڑ پر رات گزارتا تھا جس کا نام زیتون کا پہاڑ ہے۔

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

اور تمام لوگ اُس کی باتیں سننے کے لئے صبح سویرے بیت المُقدّس میں اُس کے پاس آتے تھے۔
