Genesis 10

Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

اینها فرزندان پسران ‌نوح‌ یعنی فرزندان ‌سام‌، حام ‌و یافث‌ هستند كه‌ بعد از توفان‌ متولّد شدند:

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

پسران‌ یافث‌: جومر، ماجوج‌، مادای‌، یاوان‌، توبال‌، ماشک‌ و تیراس ‌بودند.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

پسران ‌جومر: اشكناز، ریفات ‌و توجرمه ‌بودند.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

پسران ‌یاوان‌: الیشه‌، ترشیش‌، كتیم‌ و رودانیم‌ بودند.

By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

از اینها مردمی كه‌ در اطراف‌ دریا در جزیره‌ها زندگی می‌كردند، به وجود آمدند. اینها فرزندان ‌یافث ‌هستند كه‌ هر كدام‌ در قبیله‌ و در سرزمین ‌خودشان‌ زندگی می‌كردند و هر قبیله ‌به ‌زبان‌ مخصوص ‌خودشان‌ صحبت‌ می‌كردند.

And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

پسران ‌حام‌: كوش‌، مصر‌، لیبی ‌و كنعان ‌بودند.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

پسران‌ كوش‌: سبا، حویله‌، سبته‌، رعمه‌ و سبتكا بودند. و پسران ‌رعمه: ‌شبا و ددان ‌بودند.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

كوش ‌پسری داشت‌ به ‌نام نمرود. او اولین‌ مرد قدرتمند در روی زمین‌ بود.

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

او با كمک ‌خداوند تیرانداز ماهری شده‌ بود و به‌ همین ‌جهت ‌است‌ كه ‌مردم ‌می‌گویند: «خدا تو را در تیراندازی مانند نمرود گرداند.»

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

در ابتدا منطقهٔ فرمانروایی او شامل‌: بابل‌، ارک‌، آكاد و تمام ‌اینها در سرزمین ‌شنعار بود.

Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

بعد از آن ‌به ‌سرزمین آشور رفت‌ و شهرهای نینوا، و رحوبوت‌ عیر، كالح‌

And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

و ریسن‌ را كه ‌بین‌ نینوا و كالح‌ كه‌ شهر بزرگی است، ‌بنا كرد.

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

مصر‌ جدّ لود‌، عنامیم‌، لهابیم‌، نفتوحیم‌،

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

فتروسیم‌، كسلوحیم ‌و كفتوریم كه‌ جدّ فلسطینی‌هاست‌، بود.

And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

صیدون‌، نخستزادهٔ كنعان ‌بود و پس‌ از او حت به دنیا آمد.

And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

كنعان‌ هم‌ جدّ اقوام ‌زیر بود: یبوسیان‌، اموریان‌، جرجاشیان‌،

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

حویان‌، عرقیان‌، سینیان‌،

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

اروادیان‌، صماریان ‌و حماتیان‌. قبایل‌ مختلف‌ كنعان‌، از صیدون ‌تا جرار كه‌ نزدیک ‌غزه‌ است‌ و تا سدوم ‌و غموره‌ و ادمه‌ و صبوئیم ‌كه ‌نزدیک ‌لاشع ‌است‌، پراكنده‌ شدند.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

اروادیان‌، صماریان ‌و حماتیان‌. قبایل‌ مختلف‌ كنعان‌، از صیدون ‌تا جرار كه‌ نزدیک ‌غزه‌ است‌ و تا سدوم ‌و غموره‌ و ادمه‌ و صبوئیم ‌كه ‌نزدیک ‌لاشع ‌است‌، پراكنده‌ شدند.

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

اینها، نسلهای حام‌ بودند كه ‌به‌ صورت ‌قبایل مختلف‌ زندگی می‌كردند و هر قبیله برای خود زبان ‌مخصوصی داشت‌.

Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

سام‌ -‌برادر بزرگ‌ یافث- جدّ تمام‌ فرزندان عابر بود‌.

The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

پسران‌ سام عبارت‌ بودند از: عیلام‌، آشور، ارفكشاد، لود و اَرام‌.

And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

پسران‌ اَرام‌، عبارت‌ بودند از: عوص، حول‌، جاتر و ماشک‌.

And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

ارفكشاد، پدر شالح‌ و شالح ‌پدر عابر بود.

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

عابر دو پسر داشت‌. اسم‌ یكی فالج ‌بود -‌زیرا در زمان‌ او بود كه‌ مردم ‌دنیا پراكنده ‌شدند- و اسم ‌دیگری یقطان ‌بود.

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

پسران ‌یقطان ‌عبارت ‌بودند از: الموداد، شالف‌، حضرموت‌، یارح‌،

And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

هدورام‌، اوزال‌، دِقلَه‌،

And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

عوبال‌، ابیمائیل‌، شِبا،

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

اوفیر، حویله ‌و یوباب‌.

And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

همهٔ اینها از ناحیهٔ میشا تا سفاره‌ كه‌ یكی از كوههای شرقی است‌، زندگی می‌كردند.

These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

اینها نسلهای سام ‌بودند كه‌ در قبیله ‌و سرزمینهای مختلف ‌زندگی می‌كردند و هر قبیله ‌با زبان‌ مخصوص ‌خودشان ‌گفت‌وگو می‌كردند.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

همهٔ این‌ افراد بر طبق‌ نسب‌نامه‌هایشان‌، پسران‌ نوح ‌بودند كه‌ بعد از توفان ‌تمام ‌ملّتهای روی زمین ‌به‌ وسیلهٔ ‌آنها به وجود آمد.
