Psalms 55

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ حکمت کا یہ گیت تاردار سازوں کے ساتھ گانا ہے۔ اے اللہ، میری دعا پر دھیان دے، اپنے آپ کو میری التجا سے چھپائے نہ رکھ۔

Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.

مجھ پر غور کر، میری سن۔ مَیں بےچینی سے اِدھر اُدھر گھومتے ہوئے آہیں بھر رہا ہوں۔

Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;

کیونکہ دشمن شور مچا رہا، بےدین مجھے تنگ کر رہا ہے۔ وہ مجھ پر آفت لانے پر تُلے ہوئے ہیں، غصے میں میری مخالفت کر رہے ہیں۔

Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

میرا دل میرے اندر تڑپ رہا ہے، موت کی دہشت مجھ پر چھا گئی ہے۔

My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.

خوف اور لرزش مجھ پر طاری ہوئی، ہیبت مجھ پر غالب آ گئی ہے۔

Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

مَیں بولا، ”کاش میرے کبوتر کے سے پَر ہوں تاکہ اُڑ کر آرام و سکون پا سکوں!

And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

تب مَیں دُور تک بھاگ کر ریگستان میں بسیرا کرتا،

Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.

مَیں جلدی سے کہیں پناہ لیتا جہاں تیز آندھی اور طوفان سے محفوظ رہتا۔“ (سِلاہ)

I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.

اے رب، اُن میں ابتری پیدا کر، اُن کی زبان میں اختلاف ڈال! کیونکہ مجھے شہر میں ہر طرف ظلم اور جھگڑے نظر آتے ہیں۔

Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.

دن رات وہ فصیل پر چکر کاٹتے ہیں، اور شہر فساد اور خرابی سے بھرا رہتا ہے۔

Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.

اُس کے بیچ میں تباہی کی حکومت ہے، اور ظلم اور فریب اُس کے چوک کو نہیں چھوڑتے۔

Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.

اگر کوئی دشمن میری رُسوائی کرتا تو قابلِ برداشت ہوتا۔ اگر مجھ سے نفرت کرنے والا مجھے دبا کر اپنے آپ کو سرفراز کرتا تو مَیں اُس سے چھپ جاتا۔

For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

لیکن تُو ہی نے یہ کیا، تُو جو مجھ جیسا ہے، جو میرا قریبی دوست اور ہم راز ہے۔

But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.

میری تیرے ساتھ کتنی اچھی رفاقت تھی جب ہم ہجوم کے ساتھ اللہ کے گھر کی طرف چلتے گئے!

We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

موت اچانک ہی اُنہیں اپنی گرفت میں لے لے۔ زندہ ہی وہ پاتال میں اُتر جائیں، کیونکہ بُرائی نے اُن میں اپنا گھر بنا لیا ہے۔

Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

لیکن مَیں پکار کر اللہ سے مدد مانگتا ہوں، اور رب مجھے نجات دے گا۔

As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

مَیں ہر وقت آہ و زاری کرتا اور کراہتا رہتا ہوں، خواہ صبح ہو، خواہ دوپہر یا شام۔ اور وہ میری سنے گا۔

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

وہ فدیہ دے کر میری جان کو اُن سے چھڑائے گا جو میرے خلاف لڑ رہے ہیں۔ گو اُن کی تعداد بڑی ہے وہ مجھے آرام و سکون دے گا۔

He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.

اللہ جو ازل سے تخت نشین ہے میری سن کر اُنہیں مناسب جواب دے گا۔ (سِلاہ) کیونکہ نہ وہ تبدیل ہو جائیں گے، نہ کبھی اللہ کا خوف مانیں گے۔

God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

اُس شخص نے اپنا ہاتھ اپنے دوستوں کے خلاف اُٹھایا، اُس نے اپنا عہد توڑ لیا ہے۔

He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.

اُس کی زبان پر مکھن کی سی چِکنی چپڑی باتیں اور دل میں جنگ ہے۔ اُس کے تیل سے زیادہ نرم الفاظ حقیقت میں کھینچی ہوئی تلواریں ہیں۔

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

اپنا بوجھ رب پر ڈال تو وہ تجھے سنبھالے گا۔ وہ راست باز کو کبھی ڈگمگانے نہیں دے گا۔

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

لیکن اے اللہ، تُو اُنہیں تباہی کے گڑھے میں اُترنے دے گا۔ خوں خوار اور دھوکے باز آدھی عمر بھی نہیں پائیں گے بلکہ جلدی مریں گے۔ لیکن مَیں تجھ پر بھروسا رکھتا ہوں۔

But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
