Joshua 15

جب اسرائیلیوں نے قرعہ ڈال کر ملک کو تقسیم کیا تو یہوداہ کے قبیلے کو اُس کے کنبوں کے مطابق کنعان کا جنوبی حصہ مل گیا۔ اِس علاقے کی سرحد ملکِ ادوم اور انتہائی جنوب میں صین کا ریگستان تھا۔

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

یہوداہ کی جنوبی سرحد بحیرۂ مُردار کے جنوبی سرے سے شروع ہو کر

And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

جنوب کی طرف چلتی چلتی درۂ عقربیم پہنچ گئی۔ وہاں سے وہ صین کی طرف جاری ہوئی اور قادس برنیع کے جنوب میں سے آگے نکل کر حصرون تک پہنچ گئی۔ حصرون سے وہ ادّار کی طرف چڑھ گئی اور پھر قرقع کی طرف مُڑی۔

And it went out to the south side to Maaleh–acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh–barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

اِس کے بعد وہ عضمون سے ہو کر مصر کی سرحد پر واقع وادئی مصر تک پہنچ گئی جس کے ساتھ ساتھ چلتی ہوئی وہ سمندر پر ختم ہوئی۔ یہ یہوداہ کی جنوبی سرحد تھی۔

From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

مشرق میں اُس کی سرحد بحیرۂ مُردار کے ساتھ ساتھ چل کر وہاں ختم ہوئی جہاں دریائے یردن بحیرۂ مُردار میں بہتا ہے۔ یہوداہ کی شمالی سرحد یہیں سے شروع ہو کر

And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

بیت حُجلاہ کی طرف چڑھ گئی، پھر بیت عرابہ کے شمال میں سے گزر کر روبن کے بیٹے بوہن کے پتھر تک پہنچ گئی۔

And the border went up to Beth–hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth–arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

وہاں سے سرحد وادیِ عکور میں اُتر گئی اور پھر دوبارہ دبیر کی طرف چڑھ گئی۔ دبیر سے وہ شمال یعنی جِلجال کی طرف جو درۂ ادُمیم کے مقابل ہے مُڑ گئی (یہ درہ وادی کے جنوب میں ہے)۔ یوں وہ چلتی چلتی شمالی سرحد عین شمس اور عین راجل تک پہنچ گئی۔

And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En–shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En–rogel:

وہاں سے وہ وادیِ بن ہنوم میں سے گزرتی ہوئی یبوسیوں کے شہر یروشلم کے جنوب میں سے آگے نکل گئی اور پھر اُس پہاڑ پر چڑھ گئی جو وادیِ بن ہنوم کے مغرب اور میدانِ رفائیم کے شمالی کنارے پر ہے۔

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

وہاں سرحد مُڑ کر چشمہ بنام نفتوح کی طرف بڑھ گئی اور پھر پہاڑی علاقے عِفرون کے شہروں کے پاس سے گزر کر بعلہ یعنی قِریَت یعریم تک پہنچ گئی۔

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath–jearim:

بعلہ سے مُڑ کر یہوداہ کی یہ سرحد مغرب میں سعیر کے پہاڑی علاقے کی طرف بڑھ گئی اور یعریم پہاڑ یعنی کسلون کے شمالی دامن کے ساتھ ساتھ چل کر بیت شمس کی طرف اُتر کر تِمنت پہنچ گئی۔

And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth–shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

وہاں سے وہ عقرون کے شمال میں سے گزر گئی اور پھر مُڑ کر سِکرون اور بعلہ پہاڑ کی طرف بڑھ کر یبنئیل پہنچ گئی۔ وہاں یہ شمالی سرحد سمندر پر ختم ہوئی۔

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

سمندر ملکِ یہوداہ کی مغربی سرحد تھی۔ یہی وہ علاقہ تھا جو یہوداہ کے قبیلے کو اُس کے خاندانوں کے مطابق مل گیا۔

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

رب کے حکم کے مطابق یشوع نے کالب بن یفُنّہ کو اُس کا حصہ یہوداہ میں دے دیا۔ وہاں اُسے حبرون شہر مل گیا۔ اُس وقت اُس کا نام قِریَت اربع تھا (اربع عناق کا باپ تھا)۔

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

حبرون میں تین عناقی بنام سیسی، اخی مان اور تلمی اپنے گھرانوں سمیت رہتے تھے۔ کالب نے تینوں کو حبرون سے نکال دیا۔

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

پھر وہ آگے دبیر کے باشندوں سے لڑنے چلا گیا۔ دبیر کا پرانا نام قِریَت سِفر تھا۔

And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath–sepher.

کالب نے کہا، ”جو قِریَت سِفر پر فتح پا کر قبضہ کرے گا اُس کے ساتھ مَیں اپنی بیٹی عکسہ کا رشتہ باندھوں گا۔“

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath–sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

کالب کے بھائی غُتنی ایل بن قنز نے شہر پر قبضہ کر لیا۔ چنانچہ کالب نے اُس کے ساتھ اپنی بیٹی عکسہ کی شادی کر دی۔

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

جب عکسہ غُتنیایل کے ہاں جا رہی تھی تو اُس نے اُسے اُبھارا کہ وہ کالب سے کوئی کھیت پانے کی درخواست کرے۔ اچانک وہ گدھے سے اُتر گئی۔ کالب نے پوچھا، ”کیا بات ہے؟“

And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

عکسہ نے جواب دیا، ”جہیز کے لئے مجھے ایک چیز سے نوازیں۔ آپ نے مجھے دشتِ نجب میں زمین دے دی ہے۔ اب مجھے چشمے بھی دے دیجئے۔“ چنانچہ کالب نے اُسے اپنی ملکیت میں سے اوپر اور نیچے والے چشمے بھی دے دیئے۔

Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

جو موروثی زمین یہوداہ کے قبیلے کو اُس کے کنبوں کے مطابق ملی

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

اُس میں ذیل کے شہر شامل تھے۔ جنوب میں ملکِ ادوم کی سرحد کی طرف یہ شہر تھے: قبضئیل، عِدر، یجور،

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

قینہ، دیمونہ، عدعدہ،

And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

قادس، حصور، اِتنان،

And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

زیف، طِلِم، بعلوت،

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

حصور حدتہ، قریوت حصرون یعنی حصور،

And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

اَمام، سمع، مولادہ،

Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

حصار جدہ، حشمون، بیت فلط،

And Hazar–gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth–palet,

حصار سوعال، بیرسبع، بِزیوتیاہ،

And Hazar–shual, and Beer–sheba, and Bizjothjah,

بعلہ، عیّیم، عضم،

Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

اِلتولد، کسیل، حُرمہ،

And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

صِقلاج، مدمنّہ، سنسنّہ،

And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

لباؤت، سِلحیم، عین اور رِمّون۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 29 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

مغرب کے نشیبی پہاڑی علاقے میں یہ شہر تھے: اِستال، صُرعہ، اسنہ،

And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

زنوح، عین جنیم، تفّوح، عینام،

And Zanoah, and En–gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

یرموت، عدُلام، سوکہ، عزیقہ،

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

شعریم، عدِتیم اور جدیرہ یعنی جدیرتیم۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 14 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

اِن کے علاوہ یہ شہر بھی تھے: ضِنان، حداشہ، مِجدل جد،

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal–gad,

دلعان، مِصفاہ، یُقتئیل،

And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

لکیس، بُصقت، عجلون،

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

کبّون، لحماس، کِتلیس،

And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

جدیروت، بیت دجون، نعمہ اور مقیدہ۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 16 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Gederoth, Beth–dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

اِس علاقے میں یہ شہر بھی تھے: لِبناہ، عتر، عسن،

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

یفتاح، اسنہ، نصیب،

And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

قعیلہ، اکزیب اور مریسہ۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 9 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

اِن کے علاوہ یہ شہر بھی تھے: عقرون اُس کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیوں اور دیہات سمیت،

Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

پھر عقرون سے لے کر مغرب کی طرف اشدود تک تمام قصبے اور آبادیاں۔

From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

اشدود خود بھی اُس کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیوں اور دیہات سمیت اِس میں شامل تھا اور اِسی طرح غزہ اُس کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیوں اور دیہات سمیت یعنی تمام آبادیاں مصر کی سرحد پر واقع وادئی مصر اور سمندر کے ساحل تک۔

Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

پہاڑی علاقے کے یہ شہر یہوداہ کے قبیلے کے تھے: سمیر، یتیر، سوکہ،

And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

دنّہ، قِریَت سنّہ یعنی دبیر،

And Dannah, and Kirjath–sannah, which is Debir,

عناب، اِستموہ، عنیم،

And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

جشن، حَولون اور جِلوہ۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 11 تھی، اور اُن کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں بھی اُن کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

اِن کے علاوہ یہ شہر بھی تھے: اراب، دُومہ، اِشعان،

Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

ینوم، بیت تفّوح، افیقہ،

And Janum, and Beth–tappuah, and Aphekah,

حُمطہ، قِریَت اربع یعنی حبرون اور صیعور۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 9 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس میں گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Humtah, and Kirjath–arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

اِن کے علاوہ یہ شہر بھی تھے: معون، کرمل، زیف، یوطہ،

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

یزرعیل، یُقدعام، زنوح،

And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

قَین، جِبعہ اور تِمنت۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 10 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

اِن کے علاوہ یہ شہر بھی تھے: حلحول، بیت صور، جدور،

Halhul, Beth–zur, and Gedor,

معرات، بیت عنوت اور اِلتقون۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 6 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Maarath, and Beth–anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

پھر قِریَت بعل یعنی قِریَت یعریم اور ربّہ بھی یہوداہ کے پہاڑی علاقے میں شامل تھے۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

Kirjath–baal, which is Kirjath–jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

ریگستان میں یہ شہر یہوداہ کے قبیلے کے تھے: بیت عرابہ، مدّین، سکاکہ،

In the wilderness, Beth–arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

نبسان، نمک کا شہر اور عین جدی۔ اِن شہروں کی تعداد 6 تھی۔ ہر شہر کے گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں اُس کے ساتھ گنی جاتی تھیں۔

And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En–gedi; six cities with their villages.

لیکن یہوداہ کا قبیلہ یبوسیوں کو یروشلم سے نکالنے میں ناکام رہا۔ اِس لئے اُن کی اولاد آج تک یہوداہ کے قبیلے کے درمیان رہتی ہے۔

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
