I Thessalonians 5

بھائیو، اِس کی ضرورت نہیں کہ ہم آپ کو لکھیں کہ یہ سب کچھ کب اور کس موقع پر ہو گا۔

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

کیونکہ آپ خود خوب جانتے ہیں کہ خداوند کا دن یوں آئے گا جس طرح چور رات کے وقت گھر میں گھس آتا ہے۔

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

جب لوگ کہیں گے، ”اب امن و امان ہے،“ تو ہلاکت اچانک ہی اُن پر آن پڑے گی۔ وہ اِس طرح مصیبت میں پڑ جائیں گے جس طرح وہ عورت جس کا بچہ پیدا ہو رہا ہے۔ وہ ہرگز نہیں بچ سکیں گے۔

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

لیکن آپ بھائیو تاریکی کی گرفت میں نہیں ہیں، اِس لئے یہ دن چور کی طرح آپ پر غالب نہیں آنا چاہئے۔

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

کیونکہ آپ سب روشنی اور دن کے فرزند ہیں۔ ہمارا رات یا تاریکی سے کوئی واسطہ نہیں۔

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

غرض آئیں، ہم دوسروں کی مانند نہ ہوں جو سوئے ہوئے ہیں بلکہ جاگتے رہیں، ہوش مند رہیں۔

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

کیونکہ رات کے وقت ہی لوگ سو جاتے ہیں، رات کے وقت ہی لوگ نشے میں دُھت ہو جاتے ہیں۔

For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

لیکن چونکہ ہم دن کے ہیں اِس لئے آئیں ہم ہوش میں رہیں۔ لازم ہے کہ ہم ایمان اور محبت کو زرہ بکتر کے طور پر اور نجات کی اُمید کو خود کے طور پر پہن لیں۔

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

کیونکہ اللہ نے ہمیں اِس لئے نہیں چنا کہ ہم پر اپنا غضب نازل کرے بلکہ اِس لئے کہ ہم اپنے خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح کے وسیلے سے نجات پائیں۔

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

اُس نے ہماری خاطر اپنی جان دے دی تاکہ ہم اُس کے ساتھ جئیں، خواہ ہم اُس کی آمد کے دن مُردہ ہوں یا زندہ۔

Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

اِس لئے ایک دوسرے کی حوصلہ افزائی اور تعمیر کرتے رہیں، جیسا کہ آپ کر بھی رہے ہیں۔

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

بھائیو، ہماری درخواست ہے کہ آپ اُن کی قدر کریں جو آپ کے درمیان سخت محنت کر کے خداوند میں آپ کی راہنمائی اور ہدایت کرتے ہیں۔

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

اُن کی خدمت کو سامنے رکھ کر پیار سے اُن کی بڑی عزت کریں۔ اور ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ میل ملاپ سے زندگی گزاریں۔

And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

بھائیو، ہم اِس پر زور دینا چاہتے ہیں کہ اُنہیں سمجھائیں جو بےقاعدہ زندگی گزارتے ہیں، اُنہیں تسلی دیں جو جلدی سے مایوس ہو جاتے ہیں، کمزوروں کا خیال رکھیں اور سب کو صبر سے برداشت کریں۔

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

اِس پر دھیان دیں کہ کوئی کسی سے بُرائی کے بدلے بُرائی نہ کرے بلکہ آپ ہر وقت ایک دوسرے اور تمام لوگوں کے ساتھ نیک کام کرنے میں لگے رہیں۔

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

ہر وقت خوش رہیں،

Rejoice evermore.

بلاناغہ دعا کریں،

Pray without ceasing.

اور ہر حالت میں خدا کا شکر کریں۔ کیونکہ جب آپ مسیح میں ہیں تو اللہ یہی کچھ آپ سے چاہتا ہے۔

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

روح القدس کو مت بجھائیں۔

Quench not the Spirit.

نبوّتوں کی تحقیر نہ کریں۔

Despise not prophesyings.

سب کچھ پرکھ کر وہ تھامے رکھیں جو اچھا ہے،

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

اور ہر قسم کی بُرائی سے باز رہیں۔

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

اللہ خود جو سلامتی کا خدا ہے آپ کو پورے طور پر مخصوص و مُقدّس کرے۔ وہ کرے کہ آپ پورے طور پر روح، جان اور بدن سمیت اُس وقت تک محفوظ اور بےالزام رہیں جب تک ہمارا خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح واپس نہیں آ جاتا۔

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

جو آپ کو بُلاتا ہے وہ وفادار ہے اور وہ ایسا کرے گا بھی۔

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

بھائیو، ہمارے لئے دعا کریں۔

Brethren, pray for us.

تمام بھائیوں کو ہماری طرف سے بوسہ دینا۔

Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

خداوندکے حضور مَیں آپ کو تاکید کرتا ہوں کہ یہ خط تمام بھائیوں کے سامنے پڑھا جائے۔

I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

ہمارے خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح کا فضل آپ کے ساتھ ہوتا رہے۔

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. The first epistle unto the Thessalonians was written from Athens.
