I Chronicles 11

اُس وقت تمام اسرائیل حبرون میں داؤد کے پاس آیا اور کہا، ”ہم آپ ہی کی قوم اور آپ ہی کے رشتے دار ہیں۔

Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

ماضی میں بھی جب ساؤل بادشاہ تھا تو آپ ہی فوجی مہموں میں اسرائیل کی قیادت کرتے رہے۔ اور رب آپ کے خدا نے آپ سے وعدہ بھی کیا ہے کہ تُو میری قوم اسرائیل کا چرواہا بن کر اُس پر حکومت کرے گا۔“

And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.

جب اسرائیل کے تمام بزرگ حبرون پہنچے تو داؤد بادشاہ نے رب کے حضور اُن کے ساتھ عہد باندھا، اور اُنہوں نے اُسے مسح کر کے اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا۔ یوں رب کا سموایل کی معرفت کیا ہوا وعدہ پورا ہوا۔

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.

بادشاہ بننے کے بعد داؤد تمام اسرائیلیوں کے ساتھ یروشلم گیا تاکہ اُس پر حملہ کرے۔ اُس زمانے میں اُس کا نام یبوس تھا، اور یبوسی اُس میں بستے تھے۔

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

داؤد کو دیکھ کر یبوسیوں نے اُس سے کہا، ”آپ ہمارے شہر میں کبھی داخل نہیں ہو پائیں گے!“ توبھی داؤد نے صیون کے قلعے پر قبضہ کر لیا جو آج کل ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے۔

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

یبوس پر حملہ کرنے سے پہلے داؤد نے کہا تھا، ”جو بھی یبوسیوں پر حملہ کرنے میں راہنمائی کرے وہ فوج کا کمانڈر بنے گا۔“ تب یوآب بن ضرویاہ نے پہلے شہر پر چڑھائی کی۔ چنانچہ اُسے کمانڈر مقرر کیا گیا۔

And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

یروشلم پر فتح پانے کے بعد داؤد قلعے میں رہنے لگا۔ اُس نے اُسے ’داؤد کا شہر‘ قرار دیا

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

اور اُس کے ارد گرد شہر کو بڑھانے لگا۔ داؤد کا یہ تعمیری کام ارد گرد کے چبوتروں سے شروع ہوا اور چاروں طرف پھیلتا گیا جبکہ یوآب نے شہر کا باقی حصہ بحال کر دیا۔

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

یوں داؤد زور پکڑتا گیا، کیونکہ رب الافواج اُس کے ساتھ تھا۔

So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.

درجِ ذیل داؤد کے سورماؤں کی فہرست ہے۔ پورے اسرائیل کے ساتھ اُنہوں نے مضبوطی سے اُس کی بادشاہی کی حمایت کر کے داؤد کو رب کے فرمان کے مطابق اپنا بادشاہ بنا دیا۔

These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.

جو تین افسر یوآب کے بھائی ابی شے کے عین بعد آتے تھے اُن میں یسوبعام حکمونی پہلے نمبر پر آتا تھا۔ ایک بار اُس نے اپنے نیزے سے 300 آدمیوں کو مار دیا۔

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.

اِن تین افسروں میں سے دوسری جگہ پر اِلی عزر بن دودو بن اخوحی آتا تھا۔

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.

یہ فَس دَمّیم میں داؤد کے ساتھ تھا جب فلستی وہاں لڑنے کے لئے جمع ہو گئے تھے۔ میدانِ جنگ میں جَو کا کھیت تھا، اور لڑتے لڑتے اسرائیلی فلستیوں کے سامنے بھاگنے لگے۔

He was with David at Pas–dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

لیکن اِلی عزر داؤد کے ساتھ کھیت کے بیچ میں فلستیوں کا مقابلہ کرتا رہا۔ فلستیوں کو مارتے مارتے اُنہوں نے کھیت کا دفاع کر کے رب کی مدد سے بڑی فتح پائی۔

And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.

ایک اَور جنگ کے دوران داؤد عدُلام کے غار کے پہاڑی قلعے میں تھا جبکہ فلستی فوج نے وادیِ رفائیم میں اپنی لشکرگاہ لگائی تھی۔ اُن کے دستوں نے بیت لحم پر بھی قبضہ کر لیا تھا۔ داؤد کے تیس اعلیٰ افسروں میں سے تین اُس سے ملنے آئے۔

Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

ایک اَور جنگ کے دوران داؤد عدُلام کے غار کے پہاڑی قلعے میں تھا جبکہ فلستی فوج نے وادیِ رفائیم میں اپنی لشکرگاہ لگائی تھی۔ اُن کے دستوں نے بیت لحم پر بھی قبضہ کر لیا تھا۔ داؤد کے تیس اعلیٰ افسروں میں سے تین اُس سے ملنے آئے۔

And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Beth–lehem.

داؤد کو شدید پیاس لگی، اور وہ کہنے لگا، ”کون میرے لئے بیت لحم کے دروازے پر کے حوض سے کچھ پانی لائے گا؟“

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth–lehem, that is at the gate!

یہ سن کر تینوں افسر فلستیوں کی لشکرگاہ پر حملہ کر کے اُس میں گھس گئے اور لڑتے لڑتے بیت لحم کے حوض تک پہنچ گئے۔ اُس سے کچھ پانی بھر کر وہ اُسے داؤد کے پاس لے آئے۔ لیکن اُس نے پینے سے انکار کر دیا بلکہ اُسے قربانی کے طور پر اُنڈیل کر رب کو پیش کیا

And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth–lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,

اور بولا، ”اللہ نہ کرے کہ مَیں یہ پانی پیؤں۔ اگر ایسا کرتا تو اُن آدمیوں کا خون پیتا جو اپنی جان پر کھیل کر پانی لائے ہیں۔“ اِس لئے وہ اُسے پینا نہیں چاہتا تھا۔ یہ اِن تین سورماؤں کے زبردست کاموں کی ایک مثال ہے۔

And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

یوآب کا بھائی ابی شے مذکورہ تین سورماؤں پر مقرر تھا۔ ایک دفعہ اُس نے اپنے نیزے سے 300 آدمیوں کو مار ڈالا۔ تینوں کی نسبت اُس کی زیادہ عزت کی جاتی تھی، لیکن وہ خود اِن میں گنا نہیں جاتا تھا۔

And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.

یوآب کا بھائی ابی شے مذکورہ تین سورماؤں پر مقرر تھا۔ ایک دفعہ اُس نے اپنے نیزے سے 300 آدمیوں کو مار ڈالا۔ تینوں کی نسبت اُس کی زیادہ عزت کی جاتی تھی، لیکن وہ خود اِن میں گنا نہیں جاتا تھا۔

Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.

بِنایاہ بن یہویدع بھی زبردست فوجی تھا۔ وہ قبضئیل کا رہنے والا تھا، اور اُس نے بہت دفعہ اپنی مردانگی دکھائی۔ موآب کے دو بڑے سورما اُس کے ہاتھوں ہلاک ہوئے۔ ایک بار جب بہت برف پڑ گئی تو اُس نے ایک حوض میں اُتر کر ایک شیرببر کو مار ڈالا جو اُس میں گر گیا تھا۔

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.

ایک اَور موقع پر اُس کا واسطہ ایک مصری سے پڑا جس کا قد ساڑھے سات فٹ تھا۔ مصری کے ہاتھ میں کھڈی کے شہتیر جیسا بڑا نیزہ تھا جبکہ اُس کے اپنے پاس صرف لاٹھی تھی۔ لیکن بِنایاہ نے اُس پر حملہ کر کے اُس کے ہاتھ سے نیزہ چھین لیا اور اُسے اُس کے اپنے ہتھیار سے مار ڈالا۔

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

ایسی بہادری دکھانے کی بنا پر بِنایاہ بن یہویدع مذکورہ تین آدمیوں کے برابر مشہور ہوا۔

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.

تیس افسروں کے دیگر مردوں کی نسبت اُس کی زیادہ عزت کی جاتی تھی، لیکن وہ مذکورہ تین آدمیوں میں گنا نہیں جاتا تھا۔ داؤد نے اُسے اپنے محافظوں پر مقرر کیا۔

Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.

ذیل کے آدمی بادشاہ کے سورماؤں میں شامل تھے۔ یوآب کا بھائی عساہیل، بیت لحم کا اِلحنان بن دودو،

Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lehem,

سمّوت ہروری، خلِص فلونی،

Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

تقوع کا عیرا بن عقیس، عنتوت کا ابی عزر،

Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi–ezer the Antothite,

سِبکی حوساتی، عیلی اخوحی،

Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,

مَہری نطوفاتی، حلِد بن بعنہ نطوفاتی،

Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,

بن یمینی شہر جِبعہ کا اِتّی بن ریبی، بِنایاہ فِرعاتونی

Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

نحلے جعس کا حوری، ابی ایل عرباتی،

Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,

عزماوت بحرومی، اِلیَحبا سعلبونی،

Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,

ہشیم جِزونی کے بیٹے، یونتن بن شجی ہراری،

The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,

اخی آم بن سکار ہراری، اِلی فل بن اُور،

Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,

حِفر مکیراتی، اخیاہ فلونی،

Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,

حصرو کرملی، نعری بن ازبی،

Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,

ناتن کا بھائی یوایل، مِبخار بن ہاجری،

Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,

صِلق عمونی، یوآب بن ضرویاہ کا سلاح بردار نحری بیروتی،

Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armourbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,

عیرا اِتری، جریب اِتری،

Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

اُوریاہ حِتّی، زبد بن اخلی،

Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,

ادینہ بن سیزا (روبن کے قبیلے کا یہ سردار 30 فوجیوں پر مقرر تھا)،

Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a captain of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,

حنان بن معکہ، یوسفط مِتنی،

Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,

عُزیّاہ عستراتی، خوتام عروعیری کے بیٹے سماع اور یعی ایل،

Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,

یدیع ایل بن سِمری، اُس کا بھائی یوخا تیصی،

Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,

اِلی ایل محاوی، اِلنعم کے بیٹے یریبی اور یوساویاہ، یِتمہ موآبی،

Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,

اِلی ایل، عوبید اور یعسی ایل مضوبائی۔

Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel the Mesobaite.
