Psalms 139

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ اے رب، تُو میرا معائنہ کرتا اور مجھے خوب جانتا ہے۔

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

میرا اُٹھنا بیٹھنا تجھے معلوم ہے، اور تُو دُور سے ہی میری سوچ سمجھتا ہے۔

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

تُو مجھے جانچتا ہے، خواہ مَیں راستے میں ہوں یا آرام کروں۔ تُو میری تمام راہوں سے واقف ہے۔

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

کیونکہ جب بھی کوئی بات میری زبان پر آئے تُو اے رب پہلے ہی اُس کا پورا علم رکھتا ہے۔

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

تُو مجھے چاروں طرف سے گھیرے رکھتا ہے، تیرا ہاتھ میرے اوپر ہی رہتا ہے۔

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

اِس کا علم اِتنا حیران کن اور عظیم ہے کہ مَیں اِسے سمجھ نہیں سکتا۔

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

مَیں تیرے روح سے کہاں بھاگ جاؤں، تیرے چہرے سے کہاں فرار ہو جاؤں؟

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

اگر آسمان پر چڑھ جاؤں تو تُو وہاں موجود ہے، اگر اُتر کر اپنا بستر پاتال میں بچھاؤں تو تُو وہاں بھی ہے۔

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

گو مَیں طلوعِ صبح کے پَروں پر اُڑ کر سمندر کی دُورترین حد پر جا بسوں،

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

وہاں بھی تیرا ہاتھ میری قیادت کرے گا، وہاں بھی تیرا دہنا ہاتھ مجھے تھامے رکھے گا۔

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

اگر مَیں کہوں، ”تاریکی مجھے چھپا دے، اور میرے ارد گرد کی روشنی رات میں بدل جائے،“ توبھی کوئی فرق نہیں پڑے گا۔

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

تیرے سامنے تاریکی بھی تاریک نہیں ہوتی، تیرے حضور رات دن کی طرح روشن ہوتی ہے بلکہ روشنی اور اندھیرا ایک جیسے ہوتے ہیں۔

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

کیونکہ تُو نے میرا باطن بنایا ہے، تُو نے مجھے ماں کے پیٹ میں تشکیل دیا ہے۔

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

مَیں تیرا شکر کرتا ہوں کہ مجھے جلالی اور معجزانہ طور سے بنایا گیا ہے۔ تیرے کام حیرت انگیز ہیں، اور میری جان یہ خوب جانتی ہے۔

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

میرا ڈھانچا تجھ سے چھپا نہیں تھا جب مجھے پوشیدگی میں بنایا گیا، جب مجھے زمین کی گہرائیوں میں تشکیل دیا گیا۔

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

تیری آنکھوں نے مجھے اُس وقت دیکھا جب میرے جسم کی شکل ابھی نامکمل تھی۔ جتنے بھی دن میرے لئے مقرر تھے وہ سب تیری کتاب میں اُس وقت درج تھے، جب ایک بھی نہیں گزرا تھا۔

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

اے اللہ، تیرے خیالات سمجھنا میرے لئے کتنا مشکل ہے! اُن کی کُل تعداد کتنی عظیم ہے۔

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

اگر مَیں اُنہیں گن سکتا تو وہ ریت سے زیادہ ہوتے۔ مَیں جاگ اُٹھتا ہوں تو تیرے ہی ساتھ ہوتا ہوں۔

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

اے اللہ، کاش تُو بےدین کو مار ڈالے، کہ خوں خوار مجھ سے دُور ہو جائیں۔

For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

وہ فریب سے تیرا ذکر کرتے ہیں، ہاں تیرے مخالف جھوٹ بولتے ہیں۔

Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

اے رب، کیا مَیں اُن سے نفرت نہ کروں جو تجھ سے نفرت کرتے ہیں؟ کیا مَیں اُن سے گھن نہ کھاؤں جو تیرے خلاف اُٹھے ہیں؟

I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

یقیناً مَیں اُن سے سخت نفرت کرتا ہوں۔ وہ میرے دشمن بن گئے ہیں۔

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

اے اللہ، میرا معائنہ کر کے میرے دل کا حال جان لے، مجھے جانچ کر میرے بےچین خیالات کو جان لے۔

And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

مَیں نقصان دہ راہ پر تو نہیں چل رہا؟ ابدی راہ پر میری قیادت کر!
