Psalms 140

Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ اے رب، مجھے شریروں سے چھڑا اور ظالموں سے محفوظ رکھ۔

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

دل میں وہ بُرے منصوبے باندھتے، روزانہ جنگ چھیڑتے ہیں۔

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

اُن کی زبان سانپ کی زبان جیسی تیز ہے، اور اُن کے ہونٹوں میں سانپ کا زہر ہے۔ (سِلاہ)

Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

اے رب، مجھے بےدین کے ہاتھوں سے محفوظ رکھ، ظالم سے مجھے بچائے رکھ، اُن سے جو میرے پاؤں کو ٹھوکر کھلانے کے منصوبے باندھ رہے ہیں۔

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

مغروروں نے میرے راستے میں پھندا اور رسّے چھپائے ہیں، اُنہوں نے جال بچھا کر راستے کے کنارے کنارے مجھے پکڑنے کے پھندے لگائے ہیں۔ (سِلاہ)

I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

مَیں رب سے کہتا ہوں، ”تُو ہی میرا خدا ہے، میری التجاؤں کی آواز سن!“

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

اے رب قادرِ مطلق، اے میری قوی نجات! جنگ کے دن تُو اپنی ڈھال سے میرے سر کی حفاظت کرتا ہے۔

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

اے رب، بےدین کا لالچ پورا نہ کر۔ اُس کا ارادہ کامیاب ہونے نہ دے، ایسا نہ ہو کہ یہ لوگ سرفراز ہو جائیں۔ (سِلاہ)

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

اُنہوں نے مجھے گھیر لیا ہے، لیکن جو آفت اُن کے ہونٹ مجھ پر لانا چاہتے ہیں وہ اُن کے اپنے سروں پر آئے!

Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

دہکتے کوئلے اُن پر برسیں، اور اُنہیں آگ میں، اتھاہ گڑھوں میں پھینکا جائے تاکہ آئندہ کبھی نہ اُٹھیں۔

Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

تہمت لگانے والا ملک میں قائم نہ رہے، اور بُرائی ظالم کو مار مار کر اُس کا پیچھا کرے۔

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

مَیں جانتا ہوں کہ رب عدالت میں مصیبت زدہ کا دفاع کرے گا۔ وہی ضرورت مند کا انصاف کرے گا۔

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

یقیناً راست باز تیرے نام کی ستائش کریں گے، اور دیانت دار تیرے حضور بسیں گے۔
