Matthew 1

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

عیسیٰ مسیح بن داؤد بن ابراہیم کا نسب نامہ:

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

ابراہیم اسحاق کا باپ تھا، اسحاق یعقوب کا باپ اور یعقوب یہوداہ اور اُس کے بھائیوں کا باپ۔

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

یہوداہ کے دو بیٹے فارص اور زارح تھے (اُن کی ماں تمر تھی)۔ فارص حصرون کا باپ اور حصرون رام کا باپ تھا۔

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

رام عمی نداب کا باپ، عمی نداب نحسون کا باپ اور نحسون سلمون کا باپ تھا۔

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

سلمون بوعز کا باپ تھا (بوعز کی ماں راحب تھی)۔ بوعز عوبید کا باپ تھا (عوبید کی ماں روت تھی)۔ عوبید یسّی کا باپ اور

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

یسّی داؤد بادشاہ کا باپ تھا۔ داؤد سلیمان کا باپ تھا (سلیمان کی ماں پہلے اُوریاہ کی بیوی تھی)۔

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

سلیمان رحبعام کا باپ، رحبعام ابیاہ کا باپ اور ابیاہ آسا کا باپ تھا۔

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

آسا یہوسفط کا باپ، یہوسفط یورام کا باپ اور یورام عُزیّاہ کا باپ تھا۔

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

عُزیّاہ یوتام کا باپ، یوتام آخز کا باپ اور آخز حِزقیاہ کا باپ تھا۔

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

حِزقیاہ منسّی کا باپ، منسّی امون کا باپ اور امون یوسیاہ کا باپ تھا۔

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

یوسیاہ یہویاکین اور اُس کے بھائیوں کا باپ تھا (یہ بابل کی جلاوطنی کے دوران پیدا ہوئے)۔

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

بابل کی جلاوطنی کے بعد یہویاکین سیالتی ایل کا باپ اور سیالتی ایل زرُبابل کا باپ تھا۔

And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

زرُبابل ابیہود کا باپ، ابی ہود اِلیاقیم کا باپ اور اِلیاقیم عازور کا باپ تھا۔

And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

عازور صدوق کا باپ، صدوق اخیم کا باپ اور اخیم اِلیہود کا باپ تھا۔

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

اِلیہود اِلی عزر کا باپ، اِلی عزر متان کا باپ اور متان کا باپ یعقوب تھا۔

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

یعقوب مریم کے شوہر یوسف کا باپ تھا۔ اِس مریم سے عیسیٰ پیدا ہوا، جو مسیح کہلاتا ہے۔

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

یوں ابراہیم سے داؤد تک 14 نسلیں ہیں، داؤد سے بابل کی جلاوطنی تک 14 نسلیں ہیں اور جلاوطنی سے مسیح تک 14 نسلیں ہیں

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

عیسیٰ مسیح کی پیدائش یوں ہوئی: اُس وقت اُس کی ماں مریم کی منگنی یوسف کے ساتھ ہو چکی تھی کہ وہ روح القدس سے حاملہ پائی گئی۔ ابھی اُن کی شادی نہیں ہوئی تھی۔

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

اُس کا منگیتر یوسف راست باز تھا، وہ علانیہ مریم کو بدنام نہیں کرنا چاہتا تھا۔ اِس لئے اُس نے خاموشی سے یہ رشتہ توڑنے کا ارادہ کر لیا۔

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

وہ اِس بات پر ابھی غور و فکر کر ہی رہا تھا کہ رب کا فرشتہ خواب میں اُس پر ظاہر ہوا اور فرمایا، ”یوسف بن داؤد، مریم سے شادی کر کے اُسے اپنے گھر لے آنے سے مت ڈر، کیونکہ پیدا ہونے والا بچہ روح القدس سے ہے۔

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

اُس کے بیٹا ہو گا اور اُس کا نام عیسیٰ رکھنا، کیونکہ وہ اپنی قوم کو اُس کے گناہوں سے رِہائی دے گا۔“

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

یہ سب کچھ اِس لئے ہوا تاکہ رب کی وہ بات پوری ہو جائے جو اُس نے اپنے نبی کی معرفت فرمائی تھی،

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

”دیکھو ایک کنواری حاملہ ہو گی۔ اُس سے بیٹا پیدا ہو گا اور لوگ اُس کا نام عمانوایل رکھیں گے۔“ (عمانوایل کا مطلب ’خدا ہمارے ساتھ‘ ہے۔)

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

جب یوسف جاگ اُٹھا تو اُس نے رب کے فرشتے کے فرمان کے مطابق مریم سے شادی کر لی اور اُسے اپنے گھر لے گیا۔

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

لیکن جب تک اُس کے بیٹا پیدا نہ ہوا وہ مریم سے ہم بستر نہ ہوا۔ اور یوسف نے بچے کا نام عیسیٰ رکھا۔
