Proverbs 2

2:1

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

HIJO mío, si tomares mis palabras, Y mis mandamientos guardares dentro de ti,

2:2

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Haciendo estar atento tu oído á la sabiduría; Si inclinares tu corazón á la prudencia;

2:3

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Si clamares á la inteligencia, Y á la prudencia dieres tu voz;

2:4

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Si como á la plata la buscares, Y la escudriñares como á tesoros;

2:5

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Entonces entenderás el temor de JEHOVÁ, Y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.

2:6

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Porque JEHOVÁ da la sabiduría, Y de su boca viene el conocimiento y la inteligencia.

2:7

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Él provee de sólida sabiduría á los rectos: Es escudo á los que caminan rectamente.

2:8

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Es el que guarda las veredas del juicio, Y preserva el camino de sus santos.

2:9

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Entonces entenderás justicia, juicio, Y equidad, y todo buen camino.

2:10

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Cuando la sabiduría entrare en tu corazón, Y la ciencia fuere dulce á tu alma,

2:11

Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

El consejo te guardará, Te preservará la inteligencia:

2:12

To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

Para librarte del mal camino, De los hombres que hablan perversidades;

2:13

Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Que dejan las veredas derechas, Por andar en caminos tenebrosos;

2:14

Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

Que se alegran haciendo mal, Que se huelgan en las perversidades del vicio;

2:15

Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

Cuyas veredas son torcidas, Y torcidos sus caminos.

2:16

To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

Para librarte de la mujer extraña, De la ajena que halaga con sus palabras;

2:17

Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Que desampara el príncipe de su mocedad, Y se olvida del pacto de su Dios.

2:18

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

Por lo cual su casa está inclinada á la muerte, Y sus veredas hacia los muertos:

2:19

None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

Todos los que á ella entraren, no volverán, Ni tomarán las veredas de la vida.

2:20

That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Para que andes por el camino de los buenos, Y guardes las veredas de los justos.

2:21

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

Porque los rectos habitarán la tierra, Y los perfectos permanecerán en ella;

2:22

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Mas los impíos serán cortados de la tierra, Y los prevaricadores serán de ella desarraigados.
