Proverbs 2

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Mein Sohn, wenn du meine Reden annimmst und meine Gebote bei dir verwahrst,

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

so daß du dein Ohr auf Weisheit merken läßt, dein Herz neigst zum Verständnis;

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

ja, wenn du dem Verstande rufst, deine Stimme erhebst zum Verständnis;

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

wenn du ihn suchst wie Silber, und wie nach verborgenen Schätzen ihm nachspürst:

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

dann wirst du die Furcht Jehovas verstehen und die Erkenntnis Gottes finden.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Denn Jehova gibt Weisheit; aus seinem Munde kommen Erkenntnis und Verständnis.

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Er bewahrt klugen Rat auf für die Aufrichtigen, er ist ein Schild denen, die in Vollkommenheit wandeln;

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

indem er die Pfade des Rechts behütet und den Weg seiner Frommen bewahrt.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Dann wirst du Gerechtigkeit verstehen und Recht und Geradheit, jede Bahn des Guten.

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Denn Weisheit wird in dein Herz kommen, und Erkenntnis wird deiner Seele lieblich sein;

Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Besonnenheit wird über dich wachen, Verständnis dich behüten:

To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

um dich zu erretten von dem bösen Wege, von dem Manne, der Verkehrtes redet;

Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

die da verlassen die Pfade der Geradheit, um auf den Wegen der Finsternis zu wandeln;

Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

die sich freuen, Böses zu tun, über boshafte Verkehrtheit frohlocken;

Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

deren Pfade krumm sind, und die abbiegen in ihren Bahnen:

To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

um dich zu erretten von dem fremden Weibe, von der Fremden, die ihre Worte glättet;

Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

welche den Vertrauten ihrer Jugend verläßt und den Bund ihres Gottes vergißt.

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

Denn zum Tode sinkt ihr Haus hinab, und ihre Bahnen zu den Schatten;

None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

alle, die zu ihr eingehen, kehren nicht wieder und erreichen nicht die Pfade des Lebens:

That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Damit du wandelst auf dem Wege der Guten und die Pfade der Gerechten einhältst.

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

Denn die Aufrichtigen werden das Land bewohnen, und die Vollkommenen darin übrigbleiben;

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

aber die Gesetzlosen werden aus dem Lande ausgerottet, und die Treulosen daraus weggerissen werden.
