Psalms 77

I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

با صدای بلند نزد خدا زاری می‌کنم. در پیشگاه خدا فریاد می‌کنم تا او مرا بشنود.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

به هنگام سختی، به درگاه خداوند دعا می‌کنم و تمام شب دستهای خود را به سوی او بلند می‌کنم، امّا تسلّی نمی‌یابم.

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

خدا را یاد می‌کنم و آه می‌کشم. زمانی که به فکر فرو می‌روم، مأیوس می‌شوم.

Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

خواب را از من گرفته‌ای، آن‌قدر پریشانم که نمی‌توانم حرف بزنم.

I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

به روزگار گذشته فکر می‌کنم و سالهای پیش را به یاد می‌آورم.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.

تمام شب با خود فکر می‌کنم و می‌اندیشم و از خود می‌پرسم:

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

«آیا خداوند ما را برای همیشه ترک خواهد کرد؟ آیا هرگز از ما راضی نخواهد شد؟

Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?

آیا دیگر ما را دوست ندارد؟ آیا پیمان او با ما باطل شده است؟

Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

آیا خدا رحمت خود را فراموش کرده و خشم او، جای شفقت او را گرفته است؟»

And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

پس گفتم: «درد من این است که رفتار خدا با من عوض شده است.»

I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

من کارهای خداوند را به‌خاطر خواهم آورد و معجزات او را که در گذشته نشان داد، به یاد می‌آورم.

I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

دربارهٔ تمام کارهای تو تفکّر خواهم نمود و دربارهٔ کارهای حیرت‌انگیز تو خواهم اندیشید.

Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

خدایا، همهٔ کارهای تو مقدّسند. خدایی به بزرگی تو وجود ندارد.

Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

تو خدایی هستی که معجزه می‌کنی. تو قدرت خود را به همهٔ اقوام جهان نشان دادی.

Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

تو با قدرت خود، قوم خود، یعنی فرزندان یعقوب و یوسف را آزاد نمودی.

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

ای خدا، وقتی آبها تو را دیدند، ترسیدند و اعماق دریا به لرزه درآمد.

The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

ابرها باریدند، رعد در آسمان غرید، برق در همه‌جا درخشید.

The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

صدای رعد تو در گِردباد بود و نور برق، جهان را روشن ساخت و زمین را به لرزه درآورد.

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

از دریا عبور نمودی و از عمق دریا گذشتی ولی اثری از جای پایت دیده نشد.

Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

قوم خود را به وسیلهٔ موسی و هارون، مانند یک شبان رهبری نمودی.
