Psalms 74

Псалом навчальний, Асафів. Нащо, Боже, назавжди Ти нас опустив, чого розпалився Твій гнів на отару Твого пасовиська?

O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

Спогадай про громаду Свою, яку Ти віддавна набув, про племено спадку Свого, що його Ти був викупив, про ту гору Сіон, що на ній оселився,

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

підійми ж Свої стопи до вічних руїн, бо ворог усе зруйнував у святині!...

Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

Ревіли Твої вороги у святині Твоїй, умістили знаки за ознаки свої,

Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

виглядало то так, якби хто догори підіймав був сокири в гущавині дерева...

A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

А тепер її різьби ураз розбивають вони молотком та сокирами,

But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

Святиню Твою на огонь віддали, оселю Твого Ймення аж дощенту збезчестили...

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

Сказали вони в своїм серці: Зруйнуймо їх разом! і спалили в краю всі місця Божих зборів...

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

Наших ознак ми не бачимо, нема вже пророка, і між нами немає такого, хто знає, аж доки це буде...

We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

Аж доки, о Боже, гнобитель знущатися буде, зневажатиме ворог навіки ім'я Твоє?

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

Для чого притримуєш руку Свою та правицю Свою? З середини лоня Свого їх понищ!

Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

А Ти, Боже, віддавна мій Цар, Ти чиниш спасіння посеред землі!

For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

Розділив Ти був море Своєю потугою, побив голови зміям на водах,

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

Ти левіятанові голову був поторощив, його Ти віддав був на їжу народові пустині,

Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

Ти був розділив джерело та потік, Ти висушив ріки великі!

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

Твій день, а також Твоя ніч, приготовив Ти світло та сонце,

The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

всі границі землі Ти поставив, Ти літо та зиму створив!

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

Пам'ятай же про це: ворог знущається з Господа, а народ нерозумний зневажує Ймення Твоє!

Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

Не віддай звірині душі Своєї горлиці, живої Твоїх бідарів не забудь же назавжди!

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

Споглянь же на Свій заповіт, бо темноти землі повні мешкань насилля!

Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

Нехай не відходить пригноблений посоромленим, бідний та вбогий нехай прославляють імення Твоє!

O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

Встань же, о Боже, судися за справу Свою, пам'ятай про щоденну наругу Свою від безумного!

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

Не забудь же про вереск Своїх ворогів, про галас бунтівників проти Тебе, що завжди зростає!

Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
