Mark 5

And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

Gölün karşı yakasına, Gerasalılar’ın memleketine vardılar.

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

İsa tekneden iner inmez, kötü ruha tutulmuş bir adam mezarlık mağaralardan çıkıp O’nu karşıladı.

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

Mezarların içinde yaşayan bu adamı artık kimse zincirle bile bağlı tutamıyordu.

Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

Birçok kez zincir ve kösteklerle bağlandığı halde, zincirleri koparmış, köstekleri parçalamıştı. Hiç kimse onunla başa çıkamıyordu.

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

Gece gündüz mezarlarda, dağlarda bağırıp duruyor, kendini taşlarla yaralıyordu.

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

Uzaktan İsa’yı görünce koşup geldi, O’nun önünde yere kapandı.

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Yüksek sesle haykırarak, “Ey İsa, yüce Tanrı’nın Oğlu, benden ne istiyorsun? Tanrı hakkı için sana yalvarırım, bana işkence etme!” dedi.

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

Çünkü İsa, “Ey kötü ruh, adamın içinden çık!” demişti.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

Sonra İsa adama, “Adın ne?” diye sordu. “Adım Tümen. Çünkü sayımız çok” dedi.

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Ruhları o bölgeden çıkarmaması için İsa’ya yalvarıp yakardı.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

Orada, dağın yamacında otlayan büyük bir domuz sürüsü vardı.

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

Kötü ruhlar İsa’ya, “Bizi şu domuzlara gönder, onlara girelim” diye yalvardılar.

And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

İsa’nın izin vermesi üzerine kötü ruhlar adamdan çıkıp domuzların içine girdiler. Yaklaşık iki bin domuzdan oluşan sürü, dik yamaçtan aşağı koşuşarak göle atlayıp boğuldu.

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

Domuzları güdenler kaçıp kentte ve köylerde olayın haberini yaydılar. Halk olup biteni görmeye çıktı.

And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

İsa’nın yanına geldiklerinde, önceleri bir tümen cine tutulan adamı giyinmiş, aklı başına gelmiş, oturmuş görünce korktular.

And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

Olayı görenler, cinli adama olanları ve domuzların başına gelenleri halka anlattılar.

And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

Bunun üzerine halk, bölgelerinden ayrılması için İsa’ya yalvarmaya başladı.

And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

İsa tekneye binerken, önceleri cinli olan adam O’na, “Seninle geleyim” diye yalvardı.

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Ama İsa adama izin vermedi. Ona, “Evine, yakınlarının yanına dön” dedi. “Rab’bin senin için neler yaptığını, sana nasıl merhamet ettiğini onlara anlat.”

And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Adam da gitti, İsa’nın kendisi için neler yaptığını Dekapolis’te duyurmaya başladı. Anlattıklarına herkes şaşıp kalıyordu.

And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

İsa tekneyle karşı yakaya dönünce, çevresinde büyük bir kalabalık toplandı. Kendisi gölün kıyısında duruyordu.

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

Bu sırada havra yöneticilerinden Yair adında biri geldi. İsa’yı görünce ayaklarına kapandı, “Küçük kızım can çekişiyor. Gelip ellerini onun üzerine koy da kurtulsun, yaşasın!” diye yalvardı.

And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

Bu sırada havra yöneticilerinden Yair adında biri geldi. İsa’yı görünce ayaklarına kapandı, “Küçük kızım can çekişiyor. Gelip ellerini onun üzerine koy da kurtulsun, yaşasın!” diye yalvardı.

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

İsa adamla birlikte gitti. Büyük bir kalabalık da ardından gidiyor, O’nu sıkıştırıyordu.

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

Orada, on iki yıldır kanaması olan bir kadın vardı.

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Birçok hekimin elinden çok çekmiş, varını yoğunu harcamış, ama iyileşeceğine daha da kötüleşmişti.

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Kadın, İsa hakkında anlatılanları duymuştu. Bu nedenle, kalabalıkta O’nun arkasından gelip giysisine dokundu.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

İçinden, “Giysilerine bile dokunsam kurtulurum” diyordu.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

O anda kanaması kesiliverdi. Kadın, bedeninin derinliğinde acıdan kurtulduğunu hissetti.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

İsa ise, kendisinden bir gücün akıp gittiğini hemen anladı. Kalabalığın ortasında dönüp, “Giysilerime kim dokundu?” diye sordu.

And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Öğrencileri O’na, “Seni sıkıştıran kalabalığı görüyorsun! Nasıl oluyor da, ‘Bana kim dokundu’ diye soruyorsun?” dediler.

And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

İsa kendisine dokunanı görmek için çevresine bakındı.

But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Kadın da kendisindeki değişikliği biliyordu. Korkuyla titreyerek geldi, İsa’nın ayaklarına kapandı ve O’na bütün gerçeği anlattı.

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

İsa ona, “Kızım” dedi, “İmanın seni kurtardı. Esenlikle git. Acıların son bulsun.”

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

İsa daha konuşurken, havra yöneticisinin evinden adamlar geldi. Yöneticiye, “Kızın öldü” dediler. “Öğretmeni neden hâlâ rahatsız ediyorsun?”

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

İsa bu sözlere aldırmadan havra yöneticisine, “Korkma, yalnız iman et!” dedi.

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

İsa, Petrus, Yakup ve Yakup’un kardeşi Yuhanna’dan başka hiç kimsenin kendisiyle birlikte gitmesine izin vermedi.

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

Havra yöneticisinin evine vardıklarında İsa, acı acı ağlayıp feryat eden gürültülü bir kalabalıkla karşılaştı.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

İçeri girerek onlara, “Niye gürültü edip ağlıyorsunuz?” dedi. “Çocuk ölmedi, uyuyor.”

And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

Onlar ise kendisiyle alay ettiler. Ama İsa hepsini dışarı çıkardıktan sonra çocuğun annesini babasını ve kendisiyle birlikte olanları alıp çocuğun bulunduğu odaya girdi.

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

Çocuğun elini tutarak ona, “Talita kumi!” dedi. Bu söz, “Kızım, sana söylüyorum, kalk” demektir.

And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

On iki yaşında olan kız hemen ayağa kalktı, yürümeye başladı. Oradakileri derin bir şaşkınlık aldı.

And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

İsa, “Bunu kimse bilmesin” diyerek onları sıkı sıkıya uyardı ve kıza yemek verilmesini buyurdu.
