Matthew 1

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Księga o rodzie Jezusa Chrystusa, syna Dawidowego, syna Abrahamowego.

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Abraham spłodził Izaaka, a Izaak spłodził Jakóba, a Jakób spłodził Judę, i braci jego.

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

A Juda spłodził Faresa i Zarę z Tamary, a Fares spłodził Hesrona, a Hesron spłodził Arama.

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

A Aram spłodził Aminadaba, a Aminadab spłodził Naasona, a Naason spłodził Salmona.

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

A Salmon spłodził Booza z Rachaby, a Booz spłodził Obeda z Ruty, a Obed spłodził Jessego.

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

A Jesse spłodził Dawida króla, a Dawid król spłodził Salomona z tej, która była żoną Uryjaszową.

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

A Salomon spłodził Roboama, a Roboam spłodził Abijasza, a Abijasz spłodził Azę.

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

A Aza spłodził Jozafata, a Jozafat spłodził Jorama, a Joram spłodził Ozyjasza.

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

A Ozyjasz spłodził Joatama, a Joatam spłodził Achaza, a Achaz spłodził Ezechijasza.

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

A Ezechijasz spłodził Manasesa, a Manases spłodził Amona, a Amon spłodził Jozyjasza.

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

A Jozyjasz spłodził Jechonijasza i braci jego podczas zaprowadzenia do Babilonu.

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

A po zaprowadzeniu do Babilonu Jechonijasz spłodził Salatyjela, a Salatyjel spłodził Zorobabela.

And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

A Zorobabel spłodził Abijuda, a Abijud spłodził Elijakima, a Elijakim spłodził Azora.

And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

A Azor spłodził Sadoka, a Sadok spłodził Achima, a Achim spłodził Elijuda.

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

A Elijud spłodził Eleazara, a Eleazar spłodził Matana, a Matan spłodził Jakóba.

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

A Jakób spłodził Józefa, męża Maryi, z której się narodził Jezus, którego zowią Chrystus.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

A tak wszystkiego pokolenia od Abrahama aż do Dawida jest pokoleń czternaście, a od Dawida aż do zaprowadzenia do Babilonu, pokoleń czternaście, a od zaprowadzenia do Babilonu aż do Chrystusa, pokoleń czternaście.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

A narodzenie Jezusa Chrystusa takie było: Albowiem gdy Maryja, matka jego, poślubiona była Józefowi, pierwej niżeli się zeszli, znaleziona jest brzemienną z Ducha Świętego.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

Ale Józef, mąż jej, będąc sprawiedliwym i nie chcąc jej osławić, chciał ją potajemnie opuścić.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

A gdy on o tem zamyślał, oto mu się Anioł Pański we śnie ukazał, mówiąc: Józefie, synu Dawidów! nie bój się przyjąć Maryi, żony twojej; albowiem, co się w niej poczęło, z Ducha Świętego jest.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

A urodzi syna, i nazowiesz imię jego Jezus; albowiem on zbawi lud swój od grzechów ich.

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

A to się wszystko stało, aby się wypełniło, co powiedziano od Pana przez proroka, mówiącego:

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Oto panna będzie brzemienna i porodzi syna, a nazowią imię jego Emanuel, co się wykłada: Bóg z nami.

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

Tedy Józef ocuciwszy się ze snu, uczynił, jako mu rozkazał Anioł Pański, i przyjął żonę swoję;

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Ale jej nie uznał, aż porodziła onego syna swego pierworodnego, i nazwał imię jego Jezus.
