Psalms 135

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.

Alleluia. Lodate il nome dell’Eterno. Lodatelo, o servi dell’Eterno,

Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

che state nella casa dell’Eterno, nei cortili della casa del nostro Dio.

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

Lodate l’Eterno, perché l’Eterno è buono; salmeggiate al suo nome, perché è amabile.

For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Poiché l’Eterno ha scelto per sé Giacobbe, ha scelto Israele per suo speciale possesso.

For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Sì, io conosco che l’Eterno è grande, e che il nostro Signore è al disopra di tutti gli dèi.

Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

L’Eterno fa tutto ciò che gli piace, in cielo e in terra, nei mari e in tutti gli abissi.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Egli fa salire i vapori dalle estremità della terra, fa i lampi per la pioggia, fa uscire il vento dai suoi tesori.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

Egli percosse i primogeniti d’Egitto, così degli uomini come degli animali.

Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Mandò segni e prodigi in mezzo a te, o Egitto, su Faraone e su tutti i suoi servitori.

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

Egli percosse grandi nazioni, e uccise re potenti:

Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

Sihon, re degli Amorei, e Og, re di Basan, e tutti i regni di Canaan.

And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

E dette il loro paese in eredità, in eredità a Israele, suo popolo.

Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

O Eterno, il tuo nome dura in perpetuo; la memoria di te, o Eterno, dura per ogni età.

For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

Gl’idoli delle nazioni sono argento e oro, opera di mano d’uomo.

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

Hanno bocca e non parlano; hanno occhi e non vedono;

They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

hanno orecchi e non odono, e non hanno fiato alcuno nella loro bocca.

They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

Simili ad essi siano quelli che li fanno, tutti quelli che in essi confidano.

Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:

Casa d’Israele, benedite l’Eterno! Casa d’Aaronne, benedite l’Eterno!

Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

Casa di Levi, benedite l’Eterno! Voi che temete l’Eterno, benedite l’Eterno!

Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

Sia benedetto da Sion l’Eterno, che abita in Gerusalemme! Alleluia.
