Isaiah 3

For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,

ये बातें मैं तुझे बता रहा हूँ, तू समझ ले। सर्वशक्तिशाली यहोवा स्वामी, उन सभी वस्तुओं को छीन लेगा जिन पर यहूदा और यरूशलेम निर्भर रहते हैं। परमेश्वर समूचा भोजन और जल भी छीन लेगा।

The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

परमेश्वर सभी नायकों और महायोद्धाओं को छीन लेगा। सभी न्यायाधीशों, भविष्यवक्ताओं, ज्योतिषियों और बुजुर्गों को परमेश्वर छीन लेगा।

The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

परमेश्वर सेना नायकों और प्रशासनिक नेताओं को छीन लेगा। परमेश्वर सलाहकारों और उन बुद्धिमान को छीन लेगा जो जादू करते हैं और भविष्य बताने का प्रयत्न करते हैं।

And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

परमेश्वर कहता है, “मैं जवान बच्चों को उनका नेता बना दूँगा। बच्चे उन पर राज करेंगे।

And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

हर व्यक्ति आपस में एक दूसरे के विरुद्ध हो जायेगा। नवयुवक बड़े बूढ़ों का आदर नहीं करेंगे। साधारण लोग महत्वपूर्ण लोगों को आदर नहीं देंगे।”

When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

उस समय, अपने ही परिवार से कोई व्यक्ति अपने ही किसी भाई को पकड़ लेगा। वह व्यक्ति अपने भाई से कहेगा, “क्योंकि तेरे पास एक वस्त्र है, सो तू हमारा नेता होगा। इन सभी खण्डहरों का तू नेता बन जा।”

In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

किन्तु वह भाई खड़ा हो कर कहेगा, “मैं तुम्हें सहारा नहीं दे सकता। मेरे घर पर्याप्त भोजन और वस्त्र नहीं हैं। तू मुझे अपना मुखिया नहीं बनायेगा।”

For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

ऐसा इसलिये होगा क्योंकि यरूशलेम ने ठोकर खायी और उसने बुरा किया। यहूदा का पतन हो गया और उसने परमेश्वर का अनुसरण करना त्याग दिया। वे जो कहते हैं और जो करते हैं वह यहोवा के विरुद्ध है। उन्होंने यहोवा की महिमा के प्रति विद्रोह किया।

The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

लोगों के चेहरों पर जो भाव हैं उनसे साफ़ दिखाई देता है कि वे बुरे कर्म करने के अपराधी हैं। किन्तु वे इन अपराधों को छुपाते नहीं है, बल्कि उन पर गर्व करते हुए अपने पापों की डोंडी पीटते हैं। वे ढीठ हैं। वे सदोम नगरी के लोगों के जैसे हैं। उन्हें इस बात की परवाह नही. है कि उनके पापों को कौन देख रहा है। यह उनके लिये बहुत बुरा होगा। अपने ऊपर इतनी बड़ी विपत्ति उन्होनें स्वयं बुलाई है।

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

अच्छे लोगों को बता दो कि उनके साथ अच्छी बातें घटेंगी। जो अच्छे कर्म वे करते हैं, उनका सुफल वे पायेंगे।

Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

किन्तु बुरे लोगों के लिए यह बहुत बुरा होगा। उन पर बड़ी विपत्ति टूट पड़ेगी। जो बुरे काम उन्होंने किये हैं, उन सब के लिये उन्हें दण्ड दिया जायेगा।

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

मेरे लोगों को बच्चे निर्दयतापूर्वक सताएँगे। उन पर स्त्रियाँ राज करेंगी। हे मेरे लोगों, तुम्हारे अगुआ तुम्हें बुरे रास्ते पर ले जायेंगे। सही मार्ग से वे तुम्हें भटका देंगे।

The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

यहोवा अपने लोगों के विरोध में मुकदमा लड़ने के लिए खड़ा होगा। वह अपने लोगों का न्याय करने के लिए खड़ा होगा।

The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

बुजुर्गों और अगुवाओं ने जो काम किये हैं यहोवा उनके विरुद्ध अभियोग चलाएगा। यहोवा कहता है, “तुम लोगों ने अँगूर के बागों को (यहूदा को) जला डाला है। तुमने गरीब लोगों की वस्तुएँ ले लीं और वे वस्तुएँ अभी भी तुम्हारे घरों में हैं।

What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

मेरे लोगों को सताने का अधिकार तुम्हें किसने दिया गरीब लोगों को मुँह के बल धूल में धकेलने का अधिकार तुम्हें किसने दिया” मेरे स्वामी, सर्वशक्तिशाली यहोवा ने यें बातें कहीं थीं।

Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

यहोवा कहता है, “सिय्योन की स्त्रियाँ बहुत घमण्डी हो गयी हैं। वे सिर उठाये हुए और ऐसा आचरण करते हुए, जैसे वे दूसरे लोगों से उत्तम हों, इधर—उधर घूमती रहती हैं। वे स्त्रियाँ अपनी आँखें मटकाती रहती हैं तथा अपने पैरों की पाजेब झंकारती हुई इधर—उधर ठुमकती फिरती हैं।”

Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

सिय्योन की ऐसी स्त्रियों के सिरों पर मेरा स्वामी फोड़े निकालेगा। यहोवा उन स्त्रियों को गंजा कर देगा।

In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

उस समय, यहोवा उनसे वे सब वस्तुएँ छीन लेगा जिन पर उन्हें नाज़ थाः पैरों के सुन्दर पाजेब, सूरज और चाँद जैसे दिखने वाले कंठहार,

The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

बुन्दे, कंगन तथा ओढ़नी,

The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

माथापट्टी, पैर की झाँझर, कमरबंद, इत्र की शीशियाँ और ताबीज़ जिन्हें वे अपने कण्ठहारों में धारण करती थीं।

The rings, and nose jewels,

मुहरदार अंगूठियाँ, नाक की बालियाँ,

The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

उत्तम वस्त्र, टोपियाँ, चादरें, बटुए,

The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

दर्पण, मलमल के कपड़े, पगड़ीदार टोपियाँ और लम्बे दुशाले।

And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

वे स्त्रियाँ जिनके पास इस समय सुगंधित इत्र हैं, उस समय उनकी वह सुगंध फफूंद और सड़ाहट से भर जायेगी। अब वे तगड़ियाँ पहनती है। किन्तु उस समय पहनने को बस उनके पास रस्से होंगे। इस समय वे सुशोभित जूड़े बाँधती हैं। किन्तु उस समय उनके सिर मुड़वा दिये जायेंगे। उनके एक बाल तक नहीं होगा। आज उनके पास सुन्दर पोशाकें हैं। किन्तु उस समय उनके पास केवल शोक वस्त्र होंगे। जिनके मुख आज खूबसूरत हैं उस समय वे शर्मनाक होंगे।

Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

उस समय, तेरे योद्धा युद्धों में मार दिये जायेंगे। तेरे बहादुर युद्ध में मारे जायेंगे।

And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

नगर द्वार के निकट सभा स्थलों में रोना बिलखना और दुःख ही फैला होगा। यरूशलेम उस स्त्री के समान हर वस्तु से वंचित हो जायेगी जिसका सब कुछ चोर और लुटेरे लूट गये हों। वह धरती पर बैठेगी और बिलखेगी।
