Philippians 2

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

آیا در اتّحاد با مسیح دلگرم هستید؟ آیا محبّت، محرّک اصلی زندگی شماست؟ آیا با روح‌القدس مصاحبت دارید؟ و آیا احساس مهر و شفقت در بین شما وجود دارد؟

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

پس تقاضا می‌کنم خوشی مرا به كمال رسانید و با هم توافقِ فكری، محبّت دو‌جانبه و هدف مشترک داشته باشید.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

هیچ عملی را از روی هم چشمی و خودخواهی انجام ندهید، بلكه با فروتنی، دیگران را از خود بهتر بدانید.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

به نفع دیگران فكر كنید و تنها در فكر خود نباشید.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

طرز تفكّر شما دربارهٔ زندگی باید مانند طرز تفكّر عیسی مسیح باشد:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

اگرچه او از ازل دارای الوهیّت بود، ولی راضی نشد كه برابری با خدا را به هر قیمتی حفظ كند،

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

بلكه خود را از تمام مزایای آن محروم نموده، به صورت یک غلام درآمد و شبیه انسان شد.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

چون او به شكل انسان در میان ما ظاهر گشت، خود را فروتن ساخت و از روی اطاعت حاضر شد مرگ -‌حتّی مرگ بر روی صلیب- را بپذیرد.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

از این جهت خدا او را بسیار سرافراز نمود و نامی را كه بالاتر از جمیع نامهاست به او عطا فرمود.

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

تا اینکه همهٔ موجودات در آسمان و روی زمین و زیر زمین، با شنیدن نام عیسی به زانو در آیند.

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

و همه برای جلال خدای پدر، با زبان خود اعتراف كنند كه عیسی مسیح، خداوند است.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

بنابراین ای عزیزان من، همان‌طور كه وقتی با شما بودم همیشه از من اطاعت می‌كردید، اكنون هم كه از شما دور هستم، مهمتر است كه از من اطاعت كنید و نجات خود را با ترس و لرز به كمال برسانید،

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

زیرا خداست كه از لطف خود، هم اراده و هم قدرت هركاری را در شما ایجاد می‌کند.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

هر كاری را بدون شكایت و همهمه انجام دهید

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

تا در زمانی‌که همه منحرف و سركش هستند، شما بدون تقصیر و گناه، فرزندان بی‌عیب خدا باشید و مانند ستارگان در جهان تاریک بدرخشید.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

پیام حیات را همیشه در اختیار مردم بگذارید. اگر چنین كنید، من دلیلی خواهم داشت كه در روز عظیم مسیح به شما افتخار كنم، زیرا این نشان خواهد داد كه كار و زحمت من بیهوده نبوده است.

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

و حتّی اگر لازم باشد كه خون من مانند شراب وقف شده روی هدیهٔ قربانی ایمان شما ریخته شود، در انجام این كار خوشحالم و به شما شادباش می‌گویم.

For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

شما هم خوشحال باشید و به من شادباش بگویید.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

امیدوارم كه با خواست عیسی خداوند، بزودی تیموتاؤس را پیش شما بفرستم تا با آگاهی از احوال شما آسوده ‌خاطر شوم.

For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

او تنها كسی است كه احساسات مرا درک می‌کند و واقعاً در فكر شماست.

For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

دیگران همه به فكر خود هستند نه در فكر پیشرفت كار عیسی مسیح!

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

شما تیموتاؤس را خوب می‌شناسید و می‌دانید كه او چگونه مانند یک پسر نسبت به پدر خود در انتشار انجیل به من خدمت كرده است.

Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

پس امیدوارم به مجرّد اینکه وضع من معلوم شود، او را پیش شما بفرستم.

But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

و اطمینان دارم كه با كمک خداوند، خود من نیز بزودی نزد شما خواهم آمد.

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

لازم دانستم «اپفرودیتس» را كه برادر، همكار و همقطار من بوده است و شما او را برای خدمت من و رفع احتیاجاتم فرستاده بودید، نزد شما برگردانم.

For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

زیرا او برای همهٔ شما دلتنگ شده و از اینکه از بیماری او باخبر گشته‌اید، ناراحت شده است.

For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

راستش این است كه او مریض و حتّی مشرف به موت بود. امّا خدا بر او رحم كرد و نه تنها بر او، بلكه بر من نیز رحم فرمود، مبادا این غم بر غمهای دیگر من افزوده شود.

I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

پس مایل هستم هرچه زودتر او را پیش شما بفرستم تا شما با دیدن او بار دیگر خوشحال شوید و به این وسیله غم من هم كمتر خواهد شد.

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

پس با شادی او را به عنوان برادری در خداوند بپذیرید. به افرادی مثل او احترام بگذارید،

Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

زیرا او نزدیک بود در راه خدمت مسیح جان بسپارد و برای اینكه نقص خدمت شما به من را جبران كند، جان خود را به خطر انداخت.
