Philippians 3

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.

دیگر اینکه ای دوستان من، در اتّحاد خود با خداوند شادمان باشید. از نوشتن و تكرار آنچه قبلاً نوشته بودم، خسته نمی‌شوم؛ زیرا می‌دانم كه این برای امنیّت شماست.

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

از آن سگها و كارهای پست ایشان و آنانی كه برای ختنه یعنی بریدن عضوی از بدن اصرار دارند، برحذر باشید.

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

زیرا ما دارای ختنهٔ واقعی هستیم نه آنها. زیرا ما به وسیلهٔ روح، خدا را می‌پرستیم و به مسیح افتخار می‌کنیم و به امتیازات ظاهری اتّكایی نداریم.

Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

اگرچه من حقّ دارم كه به این مزایا متّكی باشم. اگر دیگران تصوّر می‌کنند كه حقّ دارند به امتیازات ظاهری متّكی باشند، من حقّ بیشتری دارم.

Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

من در هشتمین روز تولّد خود ختنه شدم و به طور مادرزاد، اسرائیلی از طایفهٔ بنیامین و یک عبرانی اصیل هستم. از لحاظ رعایت شریعت، فریسی بودم،

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

و از لحاظ تعصّب، به كلیسا آزار می‌رسانیدم و مطابق معیارهای شریعت، من یک مرد بی‌عیب محسوب می‌شدم.

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

امّا هرچه به نفع من بود آن را به‌خاطر مسیح ضرر محسوب می‌کنم.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

آری، علاوه بر این، همه‌چیز را به‌خاطر امتیازی بسیار ارزنده‌تر، یعنی شناختن عیسی مسیح، خداوند خود زیان می‌دانم. در واقع، من به‌خاطر او همه‌چیز را از دست داده‌ام و همه‌چیز را هیچ شمردم تا به این وسیله مسیح را به دست آورم

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

و کاملاً با او متّحد شوم. من دیگر به نیكی خود كه از انجام مقرّرات شریعت بدست می‌آید، متّكی نیستم، بلكه به وسیلهٔ ایمان به مسیح دارای نیكی مطلق شده‌ام. این نیكی، بر ایمان استوار است و از خدا سرچشمه می‌گیرد.

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

یگانه آرزوی من این است كه مسیح را کاملاً بشناسم و قدرت قیامت او را در وجود خود درک كنم و در رنجهای او شریک گشته و در مرگ او همشكل او شوم،

If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

به این امید كه من نیز به رستاخیز از مردگان نایل گردم.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

من نمی‌گویم كه قبلاً این را به دست آورده‌ام و یا به كمال رسیده‌ام، بلكه آن را دنبال می‌کنم تا به چنگ آورم، همان‌طور كه مسیح نیز مرا به‌خاطر آن به چنگ آورده است.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

ای دوستان، من ادّعا نمی‌كنم كه تا به حال آن را به چنگ آورده‌ام، ولی تنها كار من این است كه آنچه را در پشت سر من قرار دارد فراموش كنم و برای رسیدن به آنچه در پیش است، بكوشم.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

مستقیماً به طرف هدف می‌دوم تا جایزه‌ای را كه شامل دعوت خدا به یک زندگی آسمانی به وسیلهٔ عیسی مسیح است، به دست آورم.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

پس همهٔ ما كه روحاً بالغ هستیم باید چنین طرز تفكّری داشته باشیم و اگر شما فكر دیگری دارید، خدا این را هم به شما آشكار خواهد ساخت.

Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

در هر حال ما باید مطابق حقایقی كه كسب کرده‌ایم، زندگی كنیم.

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

ای دوستان من، همهٔ شما از من سرمشق بگیرید و به کسانی‌که از نمونهٔ ما پیروی می‌کنند، نگاه كنید.

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

بارها این را به شما گفته‌ام و بار دیگر آن را با اشک خود تكرار می‌كنم كه عدّهٔ زیادی طوری زندگی می‌كنند كه گویی دشمنان صلیب مسیح هستند.

Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

آخر و عاقبت آنها هلاكت و خدای ایشان، امیال جسمانی آنهاست و افتخاراتشان در رسوایی و شرمساری است. افكار خود را به چیزهای دنیوی مشغول می‌سازند،

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

امّا ما تابع كشور آسمانی و منتظر آمدن عیسی مسیح خداوند هستیم كه به عنوان نجات‌دهنده از آسمان می‌آید.

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

او طوری بدنهای ضعیف و فانی ما را تغییر خواهد داد تا به بدن پر شكوه او شباهت یابد و این كار را با قدرتی كه همه‌چیز را تحت فرمان او در می‌آورد، انجام خواهد داد.
