Job 8

इसके बाद शूह प्रदेश के बिलदद ने उत्तर देते हुए कहा,

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

“तू कब तक ऐसी बातें करता रहेगा तेरे शब्द तेज आँधी की तरह बह रहे हैं।

How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

परमेश्वर सदा निष्पक्ष है। न्यायपूर्ण बातों को सर्वशक्तिशाली परमेश्वर कभी नहीं बदलता है।

Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

अत: यदि तेरी सन्तानों ने परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध पाप किया है तो, उसने उन्हें दण्डित किया है। अपने पापों के लिये उन्हें भुगतना पड़ा है।

If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

किन्तु अब अय्यूब, परमेश्वर की ओर दृष्टि कर और सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर से उस की दया पाने के लिये विनती कर।

If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

यदि तू पवित्र है, और उत्तम है तो वह शीघ्र आकर तुझे सहारा और तुझे तेरा परिवार और वस्तुऐं तुझे लौटायेगा।

If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

जो कुछ भी तूने खोया वह तुझे छोटी सी बात लगेगी। क्यों? क्योंकि तेरा भविष्य बड़ा ही सफल होगा।

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

“उन वृद्ध लोगों से पूछ और पता कर कि उनके पूर्वजों ने क्या सीखा था।

For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

क्योंकि ऐसा लगता है जैसे हम तो बस कल ही पैदा हुए हैं, हम कुछ नहीं जानते। परछाई की भाँति हमारी आयु पृथ्वी पर बहुत छोटी है।

(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

हो सकता है कि वृद्ध लोग तुझे कुछ सिखा सकें। हो सकता है जो उन्होंने सीखा है वे तुझे सिखा सकें।

Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

“बिलदद ने कहा, “क्या सूखी भूमि में भोजपत्र का वृक्ष बढ़ कर लम्बा हो सकता है? नरकुल बिना जल के बढ़ सकता है?

Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

नहीं, यदि पानी सूख जाता है तो वे भी मुरझा जायेंगे। उन्हें काटे जाने के योग्य काट कर काम में लाने को वे बहुत छोटे रह जायेंगे।

Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

वह व्यक्ति जो परमेश्वर को भूल जाता है, नरकुल की भाँति होता है। वह व्यक्ति जो परमेश्वर को भूल जाता है कभी आशावान नहीं होगा।

So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

उस व्यक्ति का विश्वास बहुत दुर्बल होता है। वह व्यक्ति मकड़ी के जाले के सहारे रहता है।

Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

यदि कोई व्यक्ति मकड़ी के जाले को पकड़ता है किन्तु वह जाला उस को सहारा नहीं देगा।

He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

वह व्यक्ति उस पौधे के समान है जिसके पास पानी और सूर्य का प्रकाश बहुतायात से है। उसकी शाखाऐं बगीचे में हर तरफ फैलती हैं।

He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

वह पत्थर के टीले के चारों ओर अपनी जड़े फैलाता है और चट्टान में उगने के लिये कोई स्थान ढूँढता है।

His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.

किन्तु जब वह पौधा अपने स्थान से उखाड़ दिया जाता है, तो कोई नहीं जान पाता कि वह कभी वहाँ था।

If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

किन्तु वह पौधा प्रसन्न था, अब दूसरे पौधे वहाँ उगेंगे, जहाँ कभी वह पौधा था।

Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

किन्तु परमेश्वर किसी भी निर्दोष व्यक्ति को नहीं त्यागेगा और वह बुरे व्यक्ति को सहारा नहीं देगा।

Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

परमेश्वर अभी भी तेरे मुख को हँसी से भर देगा और तेरे ओठों को खुशी से चहकायेगा।

Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

और परमेश्वर तेरे शत्रुओं को लज्जित करेगा और वह तेरे शत्रुओं के घरों को नष्ट कर देगा।”

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
