Acts 16

А после пристигна в Дервия и Листра; и ето, там имаше един ученик на име Тимотей, син на една повярвала юдейка, а баща му беше грък.

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

Той имаше характер, одобрен от братята в Листра и Икония.

Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

Него Павел пожела да води със себе си, затова го взе и го обряза заради юдеите, които бяха по онези места; защото всички знаеха, че баща му беше грък.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

И като ходеха по градовете, им предаваха наредбите, определени от апостолите и старейшините в Ерусалим, за да ги пазят.

And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

Така църквите се утвърждаваха във вярата и от ден на ден се умножаваха числено.

And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

И апостолите преминаха фригийската и галатийската земя, като им се забрани от Светия Дух да проповядват словото в Азия;

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

и като дойдоха до Мизия, се опитаха да отидат във Витиния, но Иисусовият Дух не им позволи.

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

И като отминаха Мизия, слязоха в Троада.

And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.

И през нощта на Павел му се яви видение: един македонец стоеше и го молеше, като казваше: Ела в Македония и ни помогни!

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

И след като видя видението, веднага потърсихме случай да отидем в Македония, като дойдохме до заключението, че Господ ни е призовал да им проповядваме благовестието.

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

И така, като отплавахме от Троада, се отправихме право към Самотрак, а на следващия ден – към Неапол,

Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

а оттам – към Филипи, който е главният град на онази част от Македония и римска колония. В този град преседяхме няколко дни.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

А в събота излязохме вън от портата край една река, където предполагахме, че става молитва; и седнахме и говорихме на събраните там жени.

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

И една жена на име Лидия, от град Тиатир, продавачка на морави платове, която почиташе Бога, слушаше и Господ отвори сърцето й да внимава в това, което говореше Павел.

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

И като се кръсти тя и домът й, ни помоли, казвайки: Ако ме признавате за вярваща в Господа, влезте в къщата ми и останете! И ни принуди.

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

И като отивахме на молитва, ни срещна една слугиня, която имаше предсказвателен дух и докарваше голяма печалба на господарите си чрез предсказването си.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

Тя вървеше след Павел и нас и викаше, като казваше: Тези хора са слуги на Всевишния Бог, които ви проповядват път за спасение.

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

И тя правеше това много дни. Но понеже много дотегна на Павел, той се обърна и каза на духа: Заповядвам ти в Името на Иисус Христос да излезеш от нея. И той излезе в същия час.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

А когато господарите й видяха, че излезе и надеждата им за печалба, хванаха Павел и Сила и ги завлякоха на пазара пред началниците.

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

И като ги доведоха при градските съдии, казаха: Тези хора са юдеи и смущават града ни,

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

и проповядват обичаи, каквито на нас, като римляни, не ни е позволено нито да приемаме, нито да спазваме.

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

Тогава множеството се надигна срещу тях, а градските съдии им разкъсаха дрехите и заповядаха да ги бият с тояги.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

И като ги биха много, ги хвърлиха в тъмница и поръчаха на началника на тъмницата да ги пази здраво;

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

който, като получи такава заповед, ги хвърли в по-вътрешната тъмница и здраво стегна краката им в клада.

Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

Но посред нощ Павел и Сила се молеха и пееха химни на Бога, а затворниците ги слушаха.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

И изведнъж стана голямо земетресение, така че основите на тъмницата се поклатиха, и веднага всички врати се отвориха и оковите на всички се развързаха.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

И началникът на тъмницата, като се събуди и видя, че тъмничните врати са отворени, извади меча си и щеше да се убие, мислейки, че затворниците са избягали.

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

Но Павел извика със силен глас и каза: Не прави на себе си никакво зло, защото всички сме тук.

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

А той поиска светилник, скочи вътре и разтреперен падна пред Павел и Сила;

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

и ги изведе навън и каза: Господа, какво трябва да направя, за да се спася?

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

А те казаха: Повярвай в Господ Иисус (Христос) и ще се спасиш – ти и домът ти.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

И говориха Господното слово на него и на всички, които бяха в дома му.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

И той ги взе в същия час през нощта и им изми раните, и незабавно се кръсти – той и всичките негови.

And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

И като ги заведе в къщата си, им сложи трапеза; и се зарадва, тъй като беше повярвал в Бога с целия си дом.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

А когато се разсъмна, градските съдии изпратиха съдебните служители да кажат: Пусни онези хора.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

И началникът на тъмницата съобщи на Павел тези думи: Градските съдии са пратили да ви пуснем, затова сега излезте и си идете с мир.

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

Но Павел им каза: Биха ни публично, без да сме били осъдени – нас, които сме римляни – и ни хвърлиха в тъмница; и сега тайно ли ни извеждат? Не така, но нека те сами дойдат и ни изведат!

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

И служителите съобщиха тези думи на градските съдии, а те, като чуха, че били римляни, се уплашиха.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

И дойдоха и ги умоляваха, и като ги изведоха, ги поканиха да си отидат от града.

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

А те, като излязоха от тъмницата, отидоха у Лидия и като видяха братята, ги наставиха и си заминаха.

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
