Job 37

یہ سوچ کر میرا دل لرز کر اپنی جگہ سے اُچھل پڑتا ہے۔

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

سنیں اور اُس کی غضب ناک آواز پر غور کریں، اُس غُراتی آواز پر جو اُس کے منہ سے نکلتی ہے۔

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

آسمان تلے ہر مقام پر بلکہ زمین کی انتہا تک وہ اپنی بجلی چمکنے دیتا ہے۔

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

اِس کے بعد کڑکتی آواز سنائی دیتی، اللہ کی رُعب دار آواز گرج اُٹھتی ہے۔ اور جب اُس کی آواز سنائی دیتی ہے تو وہ بجلیوں کو نہیں روکتا۔

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

اللہ انوکھے طریقے سے اپنی آواز گرجنے دیتا ہے۔ ساتھ ساتھ وہ ایسے عظیم کام کرتا ہے جو ہماری سمجھ سے باہر ہیں۔

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

کیونکہ وہ برف کو فرماتا ہے، ’زمین پر پڑ جا‘ اور موسلادھار بارش کو، ’اپنا پورا زور دکھا۔‘

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

یوں وہ ہر انسان کو اُس کے گھر میں رہنے پر مجبور کرتا ہے تاکہ سب جان لیں کہ اللہ کام میں مصروف ہے۔

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

تب جنگلی جانور بھی اپنے بھٹوں میں چھپ جاتے، اپنے گھروں میں پناہ لیتے ہیں۔

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

طوفان اپنے کمرے سے نکل آتا، شمالی ہَوا ملک میں ٹھنڈ پھیلا دیتی ہے۔

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

اللہ پھونک مارتا تو پانی جم جاتا، اُس کی سطح دُور دُور تک منجمد ہو جاتی ہے۔

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

اللہ بادلوں کو نمی سے بوجھل کر کے اُن کے ذریعے دُور تک اپنی بجلی چمکاتا ہے۔

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

اُس کی ہدایت پر وہ منڈلاتے ہوئے اُس کا ہر حکم تکمیل تک پہنچاتے ہیں۔

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

یوں وہ اُنہیں لوگوں کی تربیت کرنے، اپنی زمین کو برکت دینے یا اپنی شفقت دکھانے کے لئے بھیج دیتا ہے۔

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

اے ایوب، میری اِس بات پر دھیان دیں، رُک کر اللہ کے عظیم کاموں پر غور کریں۔

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

کیا آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ اللہ اپنے کاموں کو کیسے ترتیب دیتا ہے، کہ وہ اپنے بادلوں سے بجلی کس طرح چمکنے دیتا ہے؟

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

کیا آپ بادلوں کی نقل و حرکت جانتے ہیں؟ کیا آپ کو اُس کے انوکھے کاموں کی سمجھ آتی ہے جو کامل علم رکھتا ہے؟

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

جب زمین جنوبی لُو کی زد میں آ کر چپ ہو جاتی اور آپ کے کپڑے تپنے لگتے ہیں

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

تو کیا آپ اللہ کے ساتھ مل کر آسمان کو ٹھونک ٹھونک کر پیتل کے آئینے کی مانند سخت بنا سکتے ہیں؟ ہرگز نہیں!

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

ہمیں بتائیں کہ اللہ سے کیا کہیں! افسوس، اندھیرے کے باعث ہم اپنے خیالات کو ترتیب نہیں دے سکتے۔

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

اگر مَیں اپنی بات پیش کروں تو کیا اُسے کچھ معلوم ہو جائے گا جس کا پہلے علم نہ تھا؟ کیا کوئی بھی کچھ بیان کر سکتا ہے جو اُسے پہلے معلوم نہ ہو؟ کبھی نہیں!

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

ایک وقت دھوپ نظر نہیں آتی اور بادل زمین پر سایہ ڈالتے ہیں، پھر ہَوا چلنے لگتی اور موسم صاف ہو جاتا ہے۔

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

شمال سے سنہری چمک قریب آتی اور اللہ رُعب دار شان و شوکت سے گھرا ہوا آ پہنچتا ہے۔

Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

ہم تو قادرِ مطلق تک نہیں پہنچ سکتے۔ اُس کی قدرت اعلیٰ اور راستی زورآور ہے، وہ کبھی انصاف کا خون نہیں کرتا۔

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

اِس لئے آدم زاد اُس سے ڈرتے اور دل کے دانش مند اُس کا خوف مانتے ہیں۔“

Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
