Job 8

Şuahlı Bildat şöyle yanıtladı:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

“Ne zamana dek böyle konuşacaksın? Sözlerin sert rüzgar gibi.

How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

Tanrı adaleti saptırır mı, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten doğru olanı çarpıtır mı?

Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

Oğulların ona karşı günah işlediyse, İsyanlarının cezasını vermiştir.

If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

Ama sen gayretle Tanrı’yı arar, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten’e yalvarırsan,

If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

Temiz ve doğruysan, O şimdi bile senin için kolları sıvayıp Seni hak ettiğin yere geri getirecektir.

If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

Başlangıcın küçük olsa da, Sonun büyük olacak.

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

“Lütfen, önceki kuşaklara sor, Atalarının neler öğrendiğini iyice araştır.

For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

Çünkü biz daha dün doğduk, bir şey bilmeyiz, Yeryüzündeki günlerimiz sadece bir gölge.

(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

Onlar sana anlatıp öğretmeyecek, İçlerindeki sözleri dile getirmeyecek mi?

Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

“Bataklık olmayan yerde kamış biter mi? Susuz yerde saz büyür mü?

Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

Henüz yeşilken, kesilmeden, Otlardan önce kururlar.

Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

Tanrı’yı unutan herkesin sonu böyledir, Tanrısız insanın umudu böyle yok olur.

So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

Onun güvendiği şey kırılır, Dayanağı ise bir örümcek ağıdır.

Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

Örümcek ağına yaslanır, ama ağ çöker, Ona tutunur, ama ağ taşımaz.

He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

Tanrısızlar güneşte iyi sulanmış bitkiyi andırır, Dalları bahçenin üzerinden aşar;

He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

Kökleri taş yığınına sarılır, Çakılların arasında yer aranır.

His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.

Ama yerinden sökülürse, Yeri, ‘Seni hiç görmedim’ diyerek onu yadsır.

If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

İşte sevinci böyle son bulur, Yerinde başka bitkiler biter.

Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

“Tanrı kusursuz insanı reddetmez, Kötülük edenlerin elinden tutmaz.

Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

O senin ağzını yine gülüşle, Dudaklarını sevinç haykırışıyla dolduracaktır.

Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

Düşmanlarını utanç kaplayacak, Kötülerin çadırı yok olacaktır.”

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
