Job 37

“Yüreğim titrer buna, Yerinden oynar.

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

Dinleyin, gürleyen sesini dinleyin, Ağzından çıkan sesi!

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

Şimşeğini göğün altındaki her yere, Yeryüzünün dört bucağına salar.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

Ardından bir ses gümbürder, Görkemli sesiyle gürler. Sesi duyulunca şimşekleri alıkoymaz.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

Tanrı’nın sesi şaşılacak biçimde gürler, O, anlayışımızın ötesinde büyük işler yapar.

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

Çünkü kara, ‘Yere düş’ der, Sağanağa, ‘Bütün şiddetinle boşal.’

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

Yarattığı bütün insanlar ne yaptığını bilsin diye, Herkese işini bıraktırır.

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

Hayvanlar kovuklarına girer, İnlerinde otururlar.

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

Kasırga yuvasından kopar, Soğuk saçılan rüzgarlardan.

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

Tanrı’nın soluğu suları dondurur, Geniş sular buz tutar.

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

Bulutlara nem yükler, Şimşeğini her yana yayar.

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

Yeryüzünde ne buyurursa yapmak üzere Bulutlar O’nun istediği yönde döner durur.

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

Ya insanları cezalandırmak Ya da yeryüzünü sulayıp sevgisini göstermek için Yağmur gönderir.

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

“Dinle, Eyüp, Dur da düşün Tanrı’nın şaşılası işlerini.

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Tanrı’nın bulutları nasıl düzenlediğini, Şimşeğini nasıl çaktırdığını biliyor musun?

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

Bulutların dengesini, Bilgisi kusursuz olanın şaşılası işlerini biliyor musun?

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

Dünyanın soluğu kesildiğinde Güneyin kavurucu rüzgarı altında Giysilerin seni terletmez mi?

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

Dökme tunç bir ayna kadar sert olan gökkubbeyi O’nunla birlikte yayabilir misin?

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

“O’na ne söyleyeceğimizi öğret bize, Çünkü karanlık yüzünden sözümüze düzen veremiyoruz.

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

Konuşmak istediğim O’na söylenebilir mi? Kimse yutulmak ister mi?

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

Rüzgar geçip göğü temizlediğinde Gökte parıldayan ışığa kimse bakamaz.

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

Altın parıltısı geliyor kuzeyden, Tanrı korkunç görkeme bürünmüş.

Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

Her Şeye Gücü Yeten’e biz ulaşamayız. Gücü yücedir, Adaleti ve eşsiz doğruluğuyla kimseyi ezmez.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Bu yüzden insanlar O’na saygı duyar, Çünkü O, bilgeleri dikkate almaz.”

Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
