Psalms 83

Ó Deus, não guardes silêncio; não te cales nem fiques impassível, ó Deus.

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

Pois eis que teus inimigos se alvoroçam, e os que te odeiam levantam a cabeça.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Astutamente formam conselho contra o teu povo, e conspiram contra os teus protegidos.

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

Dizem eles: Vinde, e apaguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem seja lembrado mais o nome de Israel.

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Pois à uma se conluiam; aliam-se contra ti

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moabe e os hagarenos,

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebal, Amom e Amaleque, e a Filístia com os habitantes de tiro.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Também a Assíria se ligou a eles; eles são o braço forte dos filhos de Ló.

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

Faze-lhes como fizeste a Midiã, como a Sísera, como a Jabim junto ao rio Quisom,

Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

os quais foram destruídos em En-Dor; tornaram-se esterco para a terra.

Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

Faze aos seus nobres como a Orebe e a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes como a Zebá e a Zalmuna,

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

que disseram: Tomemos para nós as pastagens de Deus.

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

Deus meu, faze-os como um turbilhão de pó, como a palha diante do vento.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

Como o fogo queima um bosque, e como a chama incedeia as montanhas,

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

assim persegue-os com a tua tempestade, e assombra-os com o teu furacão.

So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

Cobre-lhes o rosto de confusão, de modo que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

Sejam envergonhados e conturbados perpetuamente; sejam confundidos, e pereçam,

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

para que saibam que só tu, cujo nome é o Senhor, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
