Psalms 33

33:1

Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

اے راست بازو، رب کی خوشی مناؤ! کیونکہ مناسب ہے کہ سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والے اُس کی ستائش کریں۔

33:2

Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

سرود بجا کر رب کی حمد و ثنا کرو۔ اُس کی تمجید میں دس تاروں والا ساز بجاؤ۔

33:3

Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

اُس کی تمجید میں نیا گیت گاؤ، مہارت سے ساز بجا کر خوشی کے نعرے لگاؤ۔

33:4

For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

کیونکہ رب کا کلام سچا ہے، اور وہ ہر کام وفاداری سے کرتا ہے۔

33:5

He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

اُسے راست بازی اور انصاف پیارے ہیں، دنیا رب کی شفقت سے بھری ہوئی ہے۔

33:6

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

رب کے کہنے پر آسمان خلق ہوا، اُس کے منہ کے دم سے ستاروں کا پورا لشکر وجود میں آیا۔

33:7

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

وہ سمندر کے پانی کا بڑا ڈھیر جمع کرتا، پانی کی گہرائیوں کو گوداموں میں محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔

33:8

Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

کُل دنیا رب کا خوف مانے، زمین کے تمام باشندے اُس سے دہشت کھائیں۔

33:9

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

کیونکہ اُس نے فرمایا تو فوراً وجود میں آیا، اُس نے حکم دیا تو اُسی وقت قائم ہوا۔

33:10

The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

رب اقوام کا منصوبہ ناکام ہونے دیتا، وہ اُمّتوں کے ارادوں کو شکست دیتا ہے۔

33:11

The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

لیکن رب کا منصوبہ ہمیشہ تک کامیاب رہتا، اُس کے دل کے ارادے پشت در پشت قائم رہتے ہیں۔

33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

مبارک ہے وہ قوم جس کا خدا رب ہے، وہ قوم جسے اُس نے چن کر اپنی میراث بنا لیا ہے۔

33:13

The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

رب آسمان سے نظر ڈال کر تمام انسانوں کا ملاحظہ کرتا ہے۔

33:14

From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

اپنے تخت سے وہ زمین کے تمام باشندوں کا معائنہ کرتا ہے۔

33:15

He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

جس نے اُن سب کے دلوں کو تشکیل دیا وہ اُن کے تمام کاموں پر دھیان دیتا ہے۔

33:16

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

بادشاہ کی بڑی فوج اُسے نہیں چھڑاتی، اور سورمے کی بڑی طاقت اُسے نہیں بچاتی۔

33:17

An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

گھوڑا بھی مدد نہیں کر سکتا۔ جو اُس پر اُمید رکھے وہ دھوکا کھائے گا۔ اُس کی بڑی طاقت چھٹکارا نہیں دیتی۔

33:18

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

یقیناً رب کی آنکھ اُن پر لگی رہتی ہے جو اُس کا خوف مانتے اور اُس کی مہربانی کے انتظار میں رہتے ہیں،

33:19

To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

کہ وہ اُن کی جان موت سے بچائے اور کال میں محفوظ رکھے۔

33:20

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

ہماری جان رب کے انتظار میں ہے۔ وہی ہمارا سہارا، ہماری ڈھال ہے۔

33:21

For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

ہمارا دل اُس میں خوش ہے، کیونکہ ہم اُس کے مُقدّس نام پر بھروسا رکھتے ہیں۔

33:22

Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

اے رب، تیری مہربانی ہم پر رہے، کیونکہ ہم تجھ پر اُمید رکھتے ہیں۔
