Psalms 74

O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

von Asaph.] Gott, warum hast du verworfen für immer, raucht dein Zorn wider die Herde deiner Weide?

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

Gedenke deiner Gemeinde, die du erworben hast vor alters, erlöst als dein Erbteil, -des Berges Zion, auf welchem du gewohnt hast!

Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

Erhebe deine Tritte zu den immerwährenden Trümmern! Alles im Heiligtum hat der Feind verderbt.

Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

Es brüllen deine Widersacher inmitten deiner Versammlungsstätte; sie haben ihre Zeichen als Zeichen gesetzt.

A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

Sie erscheinen wie einer, der die Axt emporhebt im Dickicht des Waldes;

But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

und jetzt zerschlagen sie sein Schnitzwerk allzumal mit Beilen und mit Hämmern.

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

Sie haben dein Heiligtum in Brand gesteckt, zu Boden entweiht die Wohnung deines Namens.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

Sie sprachen in ihrem Herzen: Laßt uns sie niederzwingen allesamt! -Verbrannt haben sie alle Versammlungsstätten Gottes im Lande.

We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

Unsere Zeichen sehen wir nicht; kein Prophet ist mehr da, und keiner bei uns, welcher weiß, bis wann.

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

Bis wann, o Gott, soll höhnen der Bedränger, soll der Feind deinen Namen verachten immerfort?

Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

Warum ziehst du deine Hand und deine Rechte zurück? Hervor aus deinem Busen, mache ein Ende!

For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

Gott ist ja mein König von alters her, der Rettungen schafft inmitten des Landes.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

Du zerteiltest das Meer durch deine Macht, zerschelltest die Häupter der Wasserungeheuer auf den Wassern.

Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

Du zerschmettertest die Häupter des Leviathans, gabst ihn zur Speise dem Volke, den Bewohnern der Wüste.

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

Du ließest Quell und Bach hervorbrechen, immerfließende Ströme trocknetest du aus.

The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

Dein ist der Tag, dein auch die Nacht; den Mond und die Sonne hast du bereitet.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

Du hast festgestellt alle Grenzen der Erde; Sommer und Winter, du hast sie gebildet.

Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

Gedenke dessen: der Feind hat Jehova gehöhnt, und ein törichtes Volk hat deinen Namen verachtet.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

Gib nicht dem Raubtiere hin die Seele deiner Turteltaube; die Schar deiner Elenden vergiß nicht für immer!

Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

Schaue hin auf den Bund! denn die finsteren Örter der Erde sind voll von Wohnungen der Gewalttat.

O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

Nicht kehre beschämt zurück der Unterdrückte; laß den Elenden und Armen deinen Namen loben!

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

Stehe auf, o Gott, führe deinen Rechtsstreit! gedenke deiner Verhöhnung von den Toren den ganzen Tag!

Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

Vergiß nicht die Stimme deiner Widersacher! das Getöse derer, die sich wider dich erheben, steigt auf beständig.
