Psalms 147

Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

خداوند را سپاس باد! چه نیکوست که خداوند را با سراییدن سرود ستایش کنیم، ستایش خداوند بسیار مناسب و لذّت بخش است.

The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

خداوند اورشلیم را دوباره آباد می‌کند و پراکندگان اسرائیل را جمع می‌سازد.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

او دل‏شكستگان را تسلّی می‌دهد و بر زخمهای ایشان مرهم می‌گذارد.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

او تعداد ستارگان را می‌‌داند و هر کدام از آنها را به نام می‌شناسد.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

خداوند ما بزرگ و قدرتش عظیم است، دانش و حکمت او بی‌کران است.

The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

خداوند، مسکینان را برمی‌افرازد، و شریران را سرنگون می‌کند.

Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

برای خداوند سرود شکرگزاری بخوانید و با نوای بربط برای خدای ما بسرایید.

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

او آسمانها را با ابر می‌پوشاند و برای زمین باران فراهم می‌سازد و سبزه‌ها را بر تپّه‌ها می‌رویاند.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

به حیوانات خوراک می‌دهد و جوجه کلاغها را غذا می‌دهد.

He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

به قدرت اسبها علاقه‌ای ندارد و نیروی انسانها او را خشنود نمی‌سازد،

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

بلکه رضامندی او از کسانی است که او را گرامی می‌دارند و به محبّت پایدار او توکّل می‌کنند.

Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

خداوند را ستایش کن، ای اورشلیم! خدای خود را ستایش کن، ای صهیون!

For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

او دروازه‌هایت را بر روی دشمن محکم می‌بندد و ساکنان تو را برکت می‌دهد.

He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

او صلح را به مرزهای تو می‌آورد و انبارهایت را از غلّه پُر می‌سازد.

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

او به زمین فرمان می‌دهد و فرمایشات او فوراً انجام می‌شود.

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

زمین را با لحاف برف می‌پوشاند و شبنم را مانند گرد می‌پاشد.

He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

تگرگ را همچون سنگریزه می‌فرستد و کسی تاب تحمّل سرمای آن را ندارد.

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

به فرمان او یخها آب می‌شوند، باد می‌وزد و آب جاری می‌گردد.

He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

کلام خود را به یعقوب بیان می‌کند و احکام و دستورات خود را به بنی‌اسرائیل می‌دهد.

He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

با هیچ قوم دیگری چنین رفتار نمی‌کند، زیرا آنها احکام او را نمی‌دانند. خداوند را سپاس باد!
