Psalms 33

Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Veselte se spravedliví v Hospodinu, na upříméť přísluší chválení.

Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

Oslavujte Hospodina na harfě, na loutně, a na nástroji o desíti strunách, žalmy zpívejte jemu.

Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Zpívejte jemu píseň novou, a huďte dobře a zvučně.

For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Nebo pravé jest slovo Hospodinovo, a všeliké dílo jeho stálé.

He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

Milujeť spravedlnost a soud, milosrdenství Hospodinova plná jest země.

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Slovem Hospodinovým nebesa učiněna jsou, a duchem úst jeho všecko vojsko jejich.

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Onť shrnul jako na hromadu vody mořské, a složil na poklad propasti.

Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Boj se Hospodina všecka země, děstež se před ním všickni obyvatelé okršlku zemského.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Nebo on řekl, a stalo se, on rozkázal, a postavilo se.

The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

Hospodin ruší rady národů, a v nic obrací přemyšlování lidská.

The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Rada pak Hospodinova na věky trvá, myšlení srdce jeho od národu do pronárodu.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Blahoslavený národ, kteréhož Hospodin jest Bohem jeho, lid ten, kterýž sobě on vyvolil za dědictví.

The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

Hospodin patře s nebe, vidí všecky syny lidské,

From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

Z příbytku trůnu svého dohlédá ke všechněm obyvatelům země.

He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

Ten, kterýž stvořil srdce jednoho každého z nich, spatřuje všecky skutky jejich.

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

Nebývá král zachován skrze mnohý zástup, ani udatný rek vysvobozen skrze velikou moc svou.

An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

Oklamavatelný jest kůň k spomožení, aniž ve množství síly své vytrhuje.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Aj, oči Hospodinovy patří na ty, kteříž se ho bojí, a na ty, kteříž očekávají milosrdenství jeho,

To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

Aby vyprostil od smrti duše jejich, a živil je v čas hladu.

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

Duše naše očekává na Hospodina, on jest spomožení naše, a pavéza naše.

For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

V něm zajisté rozveselí se srdce naše, nebo ve jménu jeho svatém naději skládáme.

Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Budiž milosrdenství tvé nad námi, Hospodine, jakož naději máme v tobě.
