Psalms 147

Lodate l’Eterno, perché è cosa buona salmeggiare al nostro Dio; perché è cosa dolce, e la lode è convenevole.

Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

L’Eterno edifica Gerusalemme, raccoglie i dispersi d’Israele;

The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

egli guarisce chi ha il cuor rotto, e fascia le loro piaghe.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Egli conta il numero delle stelle, le chiama tutte per nome.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Grande è il Signor nostro, e immenso è il suo potere; la sua intelligenza è infinita.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

L’Eterno sostiene gli umili, ma abbatte gli empi fino a terra.

The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Cantate all’Eterno inni di lode, salmeggiate con la cetra all’Iddio nostro,

Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

che cuopre il cielo di nuvole, prepara la pioggia per la terra, e fa germogliare l’erba sui monti.

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Egli dà la pastura al bestiame e ai piccini dei corvi che gridano.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

Egli non si compiace della forza del cavallo, non prende piacere nelle gambe dell’uomo.

He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

L’Eterno prende piacere in quelli che lo temono, in quelli che sperano nella sua benignità.

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Celebra l’Eterno, o Gerusalemme! Loda il tuo Dio, o Sion!

Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

Perch’egli ha rinforzato le sbarre delle tue porte, ha benedetto i tuoi figliuoli in mezzo a te.

For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

Egli mantiene la pace entro i tuoi confini, ti sazia col frumento più fino.

He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

Egli manda i suoi ordini sulla terra, la sua parola corre velocissima.

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

Egli dà la neve a guisa di lana, sparge la brina a guisa di cenere.

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

Egli getta il suo ghiaccio come a pezzi; e chi può reggere dinanzi al suo freddo?

He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

Egli manda la sua parola e li fa struggere; fa soffiare il suo vento e le acque corrono.

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Egli fa conoscere la sua parola a Giacobbe, i suoi statuti e i suoi decreti a Israele.

He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

Egli non ha fatto così con tutte le nazioni; e i suoi decreti esse non li conoscono. Alleluia.

He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
