II Samuel 23

Jen estas la lastaj vortoj de David: Parolas David, filo de Jiŝaj, Kaj parolas la viro, kiu estas alte levita, La sanktoleito de la Dio de Jakob, Kantverkisto en Izrael:

Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

La spirito de la Eternulo parolas per mi, Kaj Lia vorto estas sur mia lango.

The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

La Dio de Izrael parolis, Al mi diris la Roko de Izrael: Justulo regas super homoj, Li regas en timo antaŭ Dio.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Kaj li estas kiel la lumo de mateno, Kiam leviĝas la suno, De mateno sennuba, Kiam post la pluvo Elkreskas la verdaĵo el la tero.

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

Ĉu ne tiel estas mia domo ĉe la Eternulo? Ĉar Li faris kun mi eternan interligon, Kiu estas bone aranĝita en ĉio, kaj observata; Ĉar mia tuta savo, kaj ĉio, kion mi deziras, bone prosperas.

Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

La malbonaguloj ĉiuj estas kiel dornoj forĵetitaj, Kiujn oni ne povas preni per la mano;

But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

Sed se iu volas ektuŝi ilin, Tiu devas armi sin per fero aŭ per stango de lanco; Kaj per fajro ili estos forbruligitaj sur sia loko.

But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

Jen estas la nomoj de la herooj, kiuj estis ĉe David: sidanta en la konsilantaro de la saĝuloj, estro de trio, estis Adino, la Ecnido, kiu mortigis okcent malamikojn per unu fojo.

These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

Post li estis Eleazar, filo de Dodo, filo de Aĥoĥido, en la nombro de la tri herooj ĉe David. Kiam ili mokis la Filiŝtojn kaj kolektiĝis tie por batalo kaj la Izraelidoj eliris,

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

tiam li leviĝis kaj frapis la Filiŝtojn, ĝis lia mano laciĝis kaj alrigidiĝis al la glavo; kaj la Eternulo donis grandan helpon en tiu tago, kaj la popolo returniĝis post li nur por rabakiri.

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

Post li estis Ŝama, filo de Age, la Hararano. Kiam la Filiŝtoj kolektiĝis amase en loko, kie estis kampoparto plena de lentoj, kaj la popolo forkuris de la Filiŝtoj,

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.

tiam li stariĝis en la mezo de la kampoparto, kaj savis ĝin kaj venkobatis la Filiŝtojn; kaj la Eternulo donis grandan helpon.

But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

Kaj iris tri el la tridek ĉefoj, kaj venis dum la rikoltado al David en la kavernon Adulam; kaj la amaso de la Filiŝtoj staris tendare en la valo Refaim.

And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

David tiam estis en fortikaĵo, kaj la garnizono de la Filiŝtoj estis tiam en Bet-Leĥem.

And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth–lehem.

Kaj David esprimis deziron kaj diris: Kiu trinkigus al mi akvon el la puto Bet-Leĥema, kiu estas apud la pordego?

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth–lehem, which is by the gate!

Tiam tiuj tri herooj trarompe penetris en la tendaron de la Filiŝtoj, ĉerpis akvon el la puto Bet-Leĥema, kiu estis apud la pordego, prenis kaj alportis al David. Sed li ne volis trinki ĝin; li elverŝis ĝin al la Eternulo,

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth–lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

kaj diris: Gardu min, ho Eternulo, ke mi ne faru tion; ĉu mi trinku la sangon de la viroj, kiuj riskis sian vivon? Kaj li ne volis trinki ĝin. Tion faris la tri herooj.

And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

Abiŝaj, frato de Joab, filo de Ceruja, estis estro de tiuj tri; li mortigis per sia lanco tricent homojn, kaj li havis gloran nomon inter la tri.

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

De la tri li estis honorata kaj estis ilia estro; sed en la trion li ne eniris.

Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

Benaja, filo de Jehojada, filo de militisto multe aginta, el Kabceel: li mortigis la du fortulojn de Moab; li ankaŭ malsupreniris, kaj mortigis leonon en kavo en neĝa tago.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

Li ankaŭ mortigis Egipton, viron dignaspektan; en la mano de la Egipto estis lanco; sed li aliris al li kun bastono, elŝiris la lancon el la mano de la Egipto, kaj mortigis lin per lia propra lanco.

And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

Tion faris Benaja, filo de Jehojada. Kaj li havis gloran nomon inter la tri herooj.

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

Inter la tridek li estis plej honorata, sed en la trion li ne eniris. Kaj David faris lin lia korpogardistestro.

He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

Asahel, frato de Joab, estis inter la tridek; Elĥanan, filo de Dodo, el Bet-Leĥem,

Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lehem,

Ŝama el Ĥarod, Elika el Ĥarod,

Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

Ĥelec, la Paltido, Ira, filo de Ikeŝ, la Tekoaano,

Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

Abiezer la Anatotano, Mebunaj, la Ĥuŝaido,

Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

Calmon, la Aĥoĥido, Maharaj, la Netofaano,

Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

Ĥeleb, filo de Baana, la Netofaano, Itaj, filo de Ribaj, el Gibea de la Benjamenidoj,

Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

Benaja, la Piratonano, Hidaj el Naĥale-Gaaŝ,

Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,

Abi-Albon, la Arbatano, Azmavet, la Baĥurimano,

Abi–albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

Eljaĥba, la Ŝaalbonano, Jonatan el la filoj de Jaŝen,

Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,

Ŝama, la Hararano, Aĥiam, filo de Ŝarar, la Hararano,

Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,

Elifelet, filo de Aĥasbaj, la Maaĥatano, Eliam, filo de Aĥitofel, la Giloano,

Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

Ĥecraj, la Karmelano, Paaraj, la Arbano,

Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

Jigal, filo de Natan, el Coba, Bani, la Gadido,

Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

Celek, la Amonido, Naĥaraj, la Beerotano, armilportisto de Joab, filo de Ceruja,

Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

Ira, la Jetrido, Gareb, la Jetrido,

Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,

Urija, la Ĥetido. La nombro de ĉiuj estas tridek sep.

Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
