I Corinthians 12

O darima Duha ne bih, braćo, htio da budete u neznanju.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

Znate kako ste se dok bijaste pogani, zavedeni, zanosili nijemim idolima.

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

Zato vam obznanjujem: nitko tko u Duhu Božjem govori ne kaže: "Prokletstvo Isusu". I nitko ne može reći: "Gospodin Isus" osim u Duhu Svetom.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Različiti su dari, a isti Duh;

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

i različite službe, a isti Gospodin;

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

i različita djelovanja, a isti Bog koji čini sve u svima.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

A svakomu se daje očitovanje Duha na korist.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Doista, jednomu se po Duhu daje riječ mudrosti, drugomu riječ spoznanja po tom istom Duhu;

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

drugomu vjera u tom istom Duhu, drugomu dari liječenja u tom jednom Duhu;

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

drugomu čudotvorstva, drugomu prorokovanje, drugomu razlučivanje duhova, drugomu različiti jezici, drugomu tumačenje jezika.

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

A sve to djeluje jedan te isti Duh dijeleći svakomu napose kako hoće.

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Doista, kao što je tijelo jedno te ima mnogo udova, a svi udovi tijela iako mnogi, jedno su tijelo - tako i Krist.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Ta u jednom Duhu svi smo u jedno tijelo kršteni, bilo Židovi, bilo Grci, bilo robovi, bilo slobodni. I svi smo jednim Duhom napojeni.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Ta ni tijelo nije jedan ud, nego mnogi.

For the body is not one member, but many.

Rekne li noga: "Nisam ruka, nisam od tijela", zar zbog toga nije od tijela?

If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

I rekne li uho: "Nisam oko, nisam od tijela", zar zbog toga nije od tijela?

And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

Kad bi sve tijelo bilo oko, gdje bi bio sluh? Kad bi sve bilo sluh, gdje bi bio njuh?

If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

A ovako, Bog je rasporedio udove, svaki od njih u tijelu, kako je htio.

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Kad bi svi bili jedan ud, gdje bio bilo tijelo?

And if they were all one member, where were the body?

A ovako, mnogi udovi - jedno tijelo!

But now are they many members, yet but one body.

Ne može oko reći ruci: "Ne trebam te", ili pak glava nogama: "Ne trebam vas."

And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

Naprotiv, mnogo su potrebniji udovi tijela koji izgledaju slabiji.

Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

A udove koje smatramo nečasnijima, okružujemo većom čašću. I s nepristojnima se pristojnije postupa,

And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

a pristojni toga ne trebaju. Nego, Bog je tako sastavio tijelo da je posljednjem udu dao izobilniju čast

For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

da ne bude razdora u tijelu, nego da se udovi jednako brinu jedni za druge.

That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

I ako trpi jedan ud, trpe zajedno svi udovi; ako li se slavi jedan ud, raduju se zajedno svi udovi.

And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

A vi ste tijelo Kristovo i, pojedinačno, udovi.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

I neke postavi Bog u Crkvi: prvo za apostole, drugo za proroke, treće za učitelje; onda čudesa, onda dari liječenja; zbrinjavanja, upravljanja, razni jezici.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Zar su svi apostoli? Zar svi proroci? Zar svi učitelji? Zar svi čudotvorci?

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

Zar svi imaju dare liječenja? Zar svi govore jezike? Zar svi tumače?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

Čeznite za višim darima! A evo vam puta najizvrsnijega!

But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
