Matthew 11

А Иисус, когато свърши наставленията Си към дванадесетте Си ученици, замина оттам да поучава и проповядва по градовете им.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

А Йоан, като чу в тъмницата за делата на Христос, прати от учениците си да Му кажат:

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

Ти ли си Онзи, който има да дойде, или друг да очакваме?

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

Иисус в отговор им каза: Идете и съобщете на Йоан това, което чувате и виждате:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

слепи проглеждат, куци прохождат, прокажени се очистват и глухи прочуват, мъртви биват възкресявани и на сиромасите се проповядва благовестието.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

И блажен онзи, който не се отвръща от Мен.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

И когато те си отиваха, Иисус започна да казва на множествата за Йоан: Какво излязохте да видите в пустинята? Тръстика ли, от вятър разлюлявана?

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

Но какво излязохте да видите? Човек ли, в меки дрехи облечен? Ето, тези, които носят меки дрехи, са в царските дворци.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

Но какво тогава излязохте да видите? Пророк ли? Да, казвам ви, и повече от пророк.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

Защото този е, за когото е писано: ?Ето, Аз изпращам вестителя Си пред Твоето лице, който ще устрои пътя Ти пред Теб.“

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Истина ви казвам: между родените от жени не се е издигнал по-велик от Йоан Кръстител; обаче най-малкият в небесното царство е по-голям от него.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

А от дните на Йоан Кръстител досега небесното царство бива насилвано и насилници го грабват.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Защото всичките пророци и законът пророкуваха до Йоан;

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

и ако искате да го приемете, това е Илия, който имаше да дойде.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Който има уши да слуша, нека слуша.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

А на какво да оприлича това поколение? То прилича на деца, които седят по пазарите и викат на другарите си, като им казват:

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

Свирихме ви, и не играхте; пяхме ви жални песни, и не жалеехте.

And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

Защото дойде Йоан, който нито ядеше, нито пиеше, и казват: Има демон.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

Дойде Човешкият Син, който яде и пие, и казват: Ето човек лаком и винопиец, приятел на бирниците и на грешниците! Но пак, мъдростта се оправдава от делата си.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Тогава започна да укорява градовете, където се извършиха повечето от Неговите чудеса, защото не се покаяха:

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Горко ти, Хоразине! Горко ти, Витсаидо! Защото, ако в Тир и Сидон се бяха извършили чудесата, които се извършиха у вас, те отдавна биха се покаяли във вретище и пепел.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Но казвам ви: на Тир и Сидон ще бъде по-леко в съдния ден, отколкото на вас.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

И ти, Капернауме, който си се издигнал до небесата, до ада ще бъдеш свален! Защото, ако се бяха извършили в Содом чудесата, които се извършиха в теб, той и до днес би останал.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Но казвам ви, че в съдния ден на содомската земя ще бъде по-леко, отколкото на теб.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

В онова време Иисус заговори, като каза: Благодаря Ти, Отче, Господи на небето и земята, защото си скрил това от мъдрите и разумните, а си го открил на невръстните.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Да, Отче, защото така Ти се видя угодно.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Всичко Ми е предадено от Моя Отец; и освен Отец, никой не познава Сина; нито познава някой Отца, освен Сина и онзи, на когото Синът би благоволил да го открие.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Елате при Мен всички, които сте отрудени и обременени, и Аз ще ви дам почивка.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Вземете Моето иго върху себе си и се научете от Мен, защото съм кротък и смирен по сърце; и ще намерите почивка за душите си.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Защото Моето иго е благо и Моето бреме е леко.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
