Psalms 35

Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

داؤد کا زبور۔ اے رب، اُن سے جھگڑ جو میرے ساتھ جھگڑتے ہیں، اُن سے لڑ جو میرے ساتھ لڑتے ہیں۔

Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.

لمبی اور چھوٹی ڈھال پکڑ لے اور اُٹھ کر میری مدد کرنے آ۔

Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

نیزے اور برچھی کو نکال کر اُنہیں روک دے جو میرا تعاقب کر رہے ہیں! میری جان سے فرما، ”مَیں تیری نجات ہوں!“

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

جو میری جان کے لئے کوشاں ہیں اُن کا منہ کالا ہو جائے، وہ رُسوا ہو جائیں۔ جو مجھے مصیبت میں ڈالنے کے منصوبے باندھ رہے ہیں وہ پیچھے ہٹ کر شرمندہ ہوں۔

Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.

وہ ہَوا میں بھوسے کی طرح اُڑ جائیں جب رب کا فرشتہ اُنہیں بھگا دے۔

Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.

اُن کا راستہ تاریک اور پھسلنا ہو جب رب کا فرشتہ اُن کے پیچھے پڑ جائے۔

For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.

کیونکہ اُنہوں نے بےسبب اور چپکے سے میرے راستے میں جال بچھایا، بلاوجہ مجھے پکڑنے کا گڑھا کھودا ہے۔

Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.

اِس لئے تباہی اچانک ہی اُن پر آ پڑے، پہلے اُنہیں پتا ہی نہ چلے۔ جو جال اُنہوں نے چپکے سے بچھایا اُس میں وہ خود اُلجھ جائیں، جس گڑھے کو اُنہوں نے کھودا اُس میں وہ خود گر کر تباہ ہو جائیں۔

And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

تب میری جان رب کی خوشی منائے گی اور اُس کی نجات کے باعث شادمان ہو گی۔

All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

میرے تمام اعضا کہہ اُٹھیں گے، ”اے رب، کون تیری مانند ہے؟ کوئی بھی نہیں! کیونکہ تُو ہی مصیبت زدہ کو زبردست آدمی سے چھٹکارا دیتا، تُو ہی ناچار اور غریب کو لُوٹنے والے کے ہاتھ سے بچا لیتا ہے۔“

False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.

ظالم گواہ میرے خلاف اُٹھ کھڑے ہو رہے ہیں۔ وہ ایسی باتوں کے بارے میں میری پوچھ گچھ کر رہے ہیں جن سے مَیں واقف ہی نہیں۔

They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.

وہ میری نیکی کے عوض مجھے نقصان پہنچا رہے ہیں۔ اب میری جان تن تنہا ہے۔

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

جب وہ بیمار ہوئے تو مَیں نے ٹاٹ اوڑھ کر اور روزہ رکھ کر اپنی جان کو دُکھ دیا۔ کاش میری دعا میری گود میں واپس آئے!

I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

مَیں نے یوں ماتم کیا جیسے میرا کوئی دوست یا بھائی ہو۔ مَیں ماتمی لباس پہن کر یوں خاک میں جھک گیا جیسے اپنی ماں کا جنازہ ہو۔

But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

لیکن جب مَیں خود ٹھوکر کھانے لگا تو وہ خوش ہو کر میرے خلاف جمع ہوئے۔ وہ مجھ پر حملہ کرنے کے لئے اکٹھے ہوئے، اور مجھے معلوم ہی نہیں تھا۔ وہ مجھے پھاڑتے رہے اور باز نہ آئے۔

With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

مسلسل کفر بک بک کر وہ میرا مذاق اُڑاتے، میرے خلاف دانت پیستے تھے۔

Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.

اے رب، تُو کب تک خاموشی سے دیکھتا رہے گا؟ میری جان کو اُن کی تباہ کن حرکتوں سے بچا، میری زندگی کو جوان شیروں سے چھٹکارا دے۔

I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

تب مَیں بڑی جماعت میں تیری ستائش اور بڑے ہجوم میں تیری تعریف کروں گا۔

Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

اُنہیں مجھ پر بغلیں بجانے نہ دے جو بےسبب میرے دشمن ہیں۔ اُنہیں مجھ پر ناک بھوں چڑھانے نہ دے جو بلاوجہ مجھ سے کینہ رکھتے ہیں۔

For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.

کیونکہ وہ خیر اور سلامتی کی باتیں نہیں کرتے بلکہ اُن کے خلاف فریب دہ منصوبے باندھتے ہیں جو امن اور سکون سے ملک میں رہتے ہیں۔

Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

وہ منہ پھاڑ کر کہتے ہیں، ”لو جی، ہم نے اپنی آنکھوں سے اُس کی حرکتیں دیکھی ہیں!“

This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

اے رب، تجھے سب کچھ نظر آیا ہے۔ خاموش نہ رہ! اے رب، مجھ سے دُور نہ ہو۔

Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

اے رب میرے خدا، جاگ اُٹھ! میرے دفاع میں اُٹھ کر اُن سے لڑ!

Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

اے رب میرے خدا، اپنی راستی کے مطابق میرا انصاف کر۔ اُنہیں مجھ پر بغلیں بجانے نہ دے۔

Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

وہ دل میں نہ سوچیں، ”لو جی، ہمارا ارادہ پورا ہوا ہے!“ وہ نہ بولیں، ”ہم نے اُسے ہڑپ کر لیا ہے۔“

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

جو میرا نقصان دیکھ کر خوش ہوئے اُن سب کا منہ کالا ہو جائے، وہ شرمندہ ہو جائیں۔ جو مجھے دبا کر اپنے آپ پر فخر کرتے ہیں وہ شرمندگی اور رُسوائی سے ملبّس ہو جائیں۔

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

لیکن جو میرے انصاف کے آرزومند ہیں وہ خوش ہوں اور شادیانہ بجائیں۔ وہ کہیں، ”رب کی بڑی تعریف ہو، جو اپنے خادم کی خیریت چاہتا ہے۔“

And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

تب میری زبان تیری راستی بیان کرے گی، وہ سارا دن تیری تمجید کرتی رہے گی۔
