Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

Iată oamenii din ţară, cari s'au întors din robie, şi anume aceia pe cari îi luase Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, robi la Babilon, şi cari s'au întors la Ierusalim şi în Iuda, fiecare în cetatea lui.

Toţi slujitorii Templului şi fiii robilor lui Solomon erau trei sute nouăzeci şi doi.

And these were they which went up from Tel–melah, Tel–harsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father's house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

Iată ceice au plecat din Tel-Melah, din Tel-Harşa, din Cherub-Adan, din Imer şi cari n'au putut să-şi arate casa lor părintească şi neamul, ca să facă dovada că erau din Israel.

Fiii lui Delaia, fiii lui Tobia, fiii lui Necoda, şase sute cincizeci şi doi.

And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

Şi dintre fiii preoţilor: fiii lui Habaia, fiii lui Hacoţ, fiii lui Barzilai, care luase de nevastă pe una din fetele lui Barzilai, Galaaditul, şi a fost numit cu numele lor.

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

Şi-au căutat însemnarea în cărţile spiţelor de neam, dar n'au găsit -o. De aceea, au fost îndepărtaţi dela preoţie,

And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

şi dregătorul le -a spus să nu mănînce lucruri prea sfinte, pînă cînd un preot va întreba pe Urim şi Tumim.

The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,

Toată adunarea era de patruzeci şi două de mii trei sute şasezeci de inşi,

Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

afară de robii şi roabele lor, în număr de şapte mii trei sute treizeci şi şapte. Între ei se aflau două sute de cîntăreţi şi cîntăreţe.

Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

Aveau şapte sute treizeci şi şase de cai, două sute patruzeci şi cinci de catîri,

Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

patru sute treizeci şi cinci de cămile, şi şase mii şapte sute douăzeci de măgari.

And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

Unii capi de familie, la venirea lor la Casa Domnului în Ierusalim, au adus daruri de bună voie pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu, ca s'o aşeze din nou pe locul unde fusese.

They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

Au dat la vistieria lucrării, după mijloacele lor, şasezeci şi una de mii de darici de aur, cinci mii de mine de argint, şi o sută de haine preoţeşti.

So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

Preoţii şi Leviţii, oamenii din popor, cîntăreţii, uşierii şi slujitorii Templului s'au aşezat în cetăţile lor. Tot Israelul a locuit în cetăţile lui.
