Acts 15

And certain men which came down from Judæa taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

Némelyek pedig, kik Júdeából jöttek alá, így tanítják vala az atyafiakat: Ha körül nem metélkedtek Mózes rendtartása szerint, nem idvezülhettek.

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

Mikor azért Pálnak és Barnabásnak nagy háborúsága és vetekedése lőn azok ellen, azt végezék, hogy Pál és Barnabás és némely mások ő közülök menjenek fel az apostolokhoz és a vénekhez Jeruzsálembe e kérdés ügyében.

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

Ők tehát kikísértetvén a gyülekezettől, általmentek Fenicián és Samárián, elbeszélve a pogányok megtérését; és nagy örömet szerzének az összes atyafiaknak.

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

Mikor pedig megérkeztek Jeruzsálembe, a gyülekezet és az apostolok és a vének fogadák őket, és *ők* elbeszélék, mily nagy dolgokat cselekedék az Isten ő velök.

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

Előállának azonban némely hivők a farizeusok szerzetéből valók közül, mondván, hogy körül kell metélni őket, és megparancsolni, hogy a Mózes törvényét megtartsák.

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

Egybegyülének azért az apostolok és a vének, hogy e dolog felől végezzenek.

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

És mikor nagy vetekedés támadt, felkelvén Péter, monda nékik: Atyámfiai, férfiak, ti tudjátok, hogy az Isten régebbi idő óta kiválasztott *engem* mi közülünk, hogy a pogányok az én számból hallják az evangyéliomnak beszédét, és higyjenek.

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

És a szíveket ismerő Isten bizonyságot tett mellettük, mert adta nékik a Szent Lelket, miként nékünk is;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

És semmi különbséget sem tett mi köztünk és azok között, a hit által tisztítván meg azoknak szívét.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Most azért mit kísértitek az Istent, hogy a tanítványok nyakába oly igát tegyetek, melyet sem a mi atyáink, sem mi el nem hordozhattunk?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Sőt inkább az Úr Jézus Krisztus kegyelme által hiszszük, hogy megtartatunk, miképen azok is.

Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

Elhallgatott azért az egész sokaság; és hallgatják vala Barnabást és Pált, a mint elbeszélék, mennyi jelt és csudát tett az Isten ő általok a pogányok között.

And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

Miután pedig ők elhallgattak, felele Jakab, mondván: Atyámfiai, férfiak, hallgassatok meg engem!

Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

Simeon elbeszélé, mimódon gondoskodott először az Isten, hogy a pogányok közül vegyen népet az ő nevének,

And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

És ezzel egyeznek a próféták mondásai, mint meg van írva:

After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

Ezek után megtérek és felépítem a Dávidnak leomlott sátorát; és annak omladékait helyreállítom, és ismét felállatom azt:

That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

Hogy megkeresse az embereknek többi része az Urat, és a pogányok mindnyájan, a kik az én nevemről neveztetnek. Ezt mondja az Úr, ki mindezeket megcselekszi.

Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

Tudja az Isten öröktől fogva minden ő cselekedeteit.

Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

Azokáért én azt mondom, hogy nem kell háborgatni azokat, kik a pogányok közül térnek meg az Istenhez;

But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Hanem írjuk meg nékik, hogy tartózkodjanak a bálványok fertelmességeitől, a paráznaságtól, a fúlvaholt állattól és a vértől.

For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Mert Mózesnek régi nemzedékek óta városonként megvannak a hirdetői, mivelhogy a zsinagógákban minden szombaton olvassák.

Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

Akkor tetszék az apostoloknak és a véneknek az egész gyülekezettel egybe, hogy férfiakat válaszszanak ki magok közül és elküldjék Antiókhiába Pállal és Barnabással, Júdást, kinek mellékneve Barsabás, és Silást, kik az atyafiak között főemberek valának.

And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:

Megírván azok keze által ezeket: Az apostolok, a vének, és az atyafiak az Antiókhiában, Siriában és Czilicziában levő, a pogányok közül való atyafiaknak üdvözletüket!

Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Mivelhogy meghallottuk, hogy némelyek mi közülünk kimenvén, megháborítottak titeket beszédeikkel, feldúlva a ti lelketeket, azt mondván, hogy körülmetélkedjetek és a törvényt megtartsátok; kiknek mi parancsot nem adtunk:

It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

Tetszék nékünk, miután egyértelemre jutottunk, hogy férfiakat válaszszunk ki és elküldjük ti hozzátok a mi szeretteinkkel, Barnabással és Pállal,

Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Oly emberekkel, kik életüket tették koczkára a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus nevéért.

We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

Küldöttük azért Júdást és Silást, kik élőszóval szintén tudtotokra adják ugyanezeket.

For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

Mert tetszék a Szent Léleknek és nékünk, hogy semmi több teher ne vettessék ti reátok ezeken a szükséges dolgokon kívül,

That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Hogy tartózkodjatok a bálványoknak áldozott dolgoktól, a vértől, a fúlvaholt állattól, és a paráznaságtól; melyektől ha megóvjátok magatokat, jól lesz dolgotok. Legyetek egészségben!

So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

Azok annakokáért elbocsáttatván, elmenének Antiókhiába; és egybegyűjtvén a sokaságot, átadák a levelet.

Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

És mikor elolvasták, örvendezének az intésen.

And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Júdás és Silás pedig maguk is próféták lévén, sok beszéddel inték az atyafiakat, és megerősíték.

And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

Miután pedig bizonyos időt eltöltöttek, elbocsáták őket az atyafiak békességgel az apostolokhoz.

Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

De Silásnak tetszék ott maradni.

Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Pál és Barnabás is Antiókhiában időzének, tanítva és prédikálva másokkal is többekkel az Úrnak ígéjét.

And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

Egynéhány nap mulva pedig monda Pál Barnabásnak: Visszatérve most, látogassuk meg a mi atyánkfiait minden városban, melyben hírdettük az Úrnak ígéjét, hogyan vannak.

And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

És Barnabás azt tanácsolá, hogy vegyék maguk mellé Jánost, ki Márknak hívatik.

But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

Pál azonban azt tartá méltónak, hogy a ki elszakadt tőlük Pamfiliától fogva, és nem ment velök a munkára, ne vegyék maguk mellé azt.

And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

Meghasonlás támada azért, úgyhogy elszakadának egymástól, és Barnabás maga mellé véve Márkot, elhajózék Cziprusba;

And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

Pál pedig Silást választván maga mellé, elméne, az Isten kegyelmére bízatván az atyafiaktól.

And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

És eljárá Siriát és Czilicziát, erősítve a gyülekezeteket.
