Job 23

Then Job answered and said,

फिर अय्यूब ने उत्तर देते हुये कहा:

Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

“मैं आज भी बुरी तरह शिकायत करता हूँ कि परमेश्वर मुझे कड़ा दण्ड दे रहा है, इसलिये मैं शिकायत करता रहता हूँ।

Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

काश! मैं यह जान पाता कि उसे कहाँ खोजूँ! काश! मैं जान पाता की परमेश्वर के पास कैसे जाऊँ!

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

मैं अपनी कथा परमेश्वर को सुनाता, मेरा मुँह युक्तियों से भरा होता यह दर्शाने को कि मैं निर्दोष हूँ।

I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

मैं यह जानना चाहता हूँ कि परमेश्वर कैसे मेरे तर्को का उत्तर देता है, तब मैं परमेश्वर के उत्तर समझ पाता।

Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

क्या परमेश्वर अपनी महाशक्ति के साथ मेरे विरुद्ध होता नहीं! वह मेरी सुनेगा।

There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

मैं एक नेक व्यक्ति हूँ। परमेश्वर मुझे अपनी कहानी को कहने देगा, तब मेरा न्यायकर्ता परमेश्वर मुझे मुक्त कर देगा।

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

“किन्तु यदि मैं पूरब को जाऊँ तो परमेश्वर वहाँ नहीं है और यदि मैं पश्चिम को जाऊँ, तो भी परमेश्वर मुझे नहीं दिखता है।

On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

परमेश्वर जब उत्तर में क्रियाशील रहता है तो मैं उसे देख नहीं पाता हूँ। जब परमेश्वर दक्षिण को मुड़ता है, तो भी वह मुझको नहीं दिखता है।

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

किन्तु परमेश्वर मेरे हर चरण को देखता है, जिसको मैं उठाता हूँ। जब वह मेरी परीक्षा ले चुकेगा तो वह देखेगा कि मुझमें कुछ भी बुरा नहीं है, वह देखेगा कि मैं खरे सोने सा हूँ।

My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

परमेश्वर जिस को चाहता है मैं सदा उस पर चला हूँ, मैं कभी भी परमेश्वर की राह पर चलने से नहीं मुड़ा।

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

मैं सदा वही बात करता हूँ जिनकी आशा परमेश्वर देता है। मैंने अपने मुख के भोजन से अधिक परमेश्वर के मुख के शब्दों से प्रेम किया है।

But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

“किन्तु परमेश्वर कभी नहीं बदलता। कोई भी व्यक्ति उसके विरुद्ध खड़ा नहीं रह सकता है। परमेश्वर जो भी चाहता है, करता है।

For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

परमेश्वर ने जो भी योजना मेरे विरोध में बना ली है वही करेगा, उसके पास मेरे लिये और भी बहुत सारी योजनायें है।

Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

मैं इसलिये डरता हूँ, जब इन सब बातों के बारे में सोचता हूँ। इसलिये परमेश्वर मुझको भयभीत करता है।

For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

परमेश्वर मेरे हृदय को दुर्बल करता है और मेरी हिम्मत टूटती है। सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर मुझको भयभीत करता है।

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

यद्यपि मेरा मुख सघन अंधकार ढकता है तो भी अंधकार मुझे चुप नहीं कर सकता है।
