Psalms 83

Asaphin Psalmi ja veisu. Jumala, älä niin ratki vaikene, ja älä niin ääneti ole: Jumala, älä sitä niin kärsi.

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

Sillä katso, Sinun vihollises kiukuitsevat, ja jotka sinua vihaavat, ylentävät päänsä.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

He pitävät kavaloita juonia sinun kansaas vastaan, ja pitävät neuvoa sinun salatuitas vastaan,

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

Sanoen: tulkaat, hävittäkäämme heitä, niin ettei he ensinkään kansa olisikaan, ettei Israelin nimeä silleen muisteltaisi.

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

Edomilaiset ja Ismaelilaiset majat, Moabilaiset ja Hagarilaiset,

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebalilaiset, Ammonilaiset ja Amalekilaiset, Philistealaiset ja Tyron asuvaiset.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Assur on myös itsensä heihin liittänyt, auttamaan Lotin lapsia, Sela!

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

Tee niille niinkuin Midianilaisille, niinkuin Siseralle, niinkuin Jabinille Kisonin ojan tykönä;

Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

Jotka mestattiin Endorin tykönä, ja tulivat loaksi maan päälle.

Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

Tee heidän pääruhtinaansa niinkuin Orebin ja Seebin, ja kaikki heidän ylimmäisensä niinkuin Seban ja Salmunnan,

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

Jumala, tee heitä niinkuin rattaan, niinkuin korren tuulen edessä.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

Niinkuin kulo metsän polttaa, ja niinkuin liekki mäet sytyttää;

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

Vainoo juuri niin heitä sinun rajuilmallas, ja hämmästytä heitä tuulispäälläs.

So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

Täytä heidän kasvonsa häpiällä, että he sinun nimeäs, Herra, etsisivät.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

Hävetköön he ja hämmästyköön ijankaikkisesti, ja häpiään tulkoon ja hukkukoon.

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

Niin he saavat tuta, että sinä, jonka ainoan nimi on Herra, olet ylimmäinen kaikessa maailmassa.

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
