Ephesians 1

Pavao, po volji Božjoj apostol Krista Isusa: svetima koji su u Efezu i vjernima u Isusu Kristu.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Milost vam i mir od Boga, Oca našega, i Gospodina Isusa Krista!

Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blagoslovljen Bog i Otac Gospodina našega Isusa Krista, on koji nas blagoslovi svakim blagoslovom duhovnim u nebesima, u Kristu.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Tako: u njemu nas sebi izabra prije postanka svijeta da budemo sveti i bez mane pred njim;

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

u ljubavi nas predodredi za posinstvo, za sebe, po Isusu Kristu, dobrohotnošću svoje volje,

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

na hvalu Slave svoje milosti. Njome nas zamilova u Ljubljenome

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

u kome, njegovom krvlju, imamo otkupljenje, otpuštenje prijestupa po bogatstvu njegove milosti.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Nju preobilno u nas uli zajedno sa svom mudrošću i razumijevanjem

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

obznanivši nam otajstvo svoje volje po dobrohotnom naumu svojem što ga prije u njemu zasnova

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

da se provede punina vremena: uglaviti u Kristu sve - na nebesima i na zemlji.

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

U njemu, u kome i nama - predodređenima po naumu Onoga koji sve izvodi po odluci svoje volje - u dio pade

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

da budemo na hvalu Slave njegove - mi koji smo se već prije nadali u Kristu.

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

U njemu ste i vi, pošto ste čuli Riječ istine - evanđelje spasenja svoga - u njemu ste, prigrlivši vjeru, opečaćeni Duhom obećanim, Svetim,

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

koji je zalog naše baštine: otkupljenja, posvojenja - na hvalu Slave njegove.

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Zato i ja, otkad sam čuo za vašu vjeru u Gospodinu Isusu i za ljubav prema svima svetima,

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

ne prestajem zahvaljivati za vas i sjećati vas se u svojim molitvama:

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Bog Gospodina našega Isusa Krista, Otac Slave, dao vam Duha mudrosti i objave kojom ćete ga spoznati;

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

prosvijetlio vam oči srca da upoznate koje li nade u pozivu njegovu, koje li bogate slave u baštini njegovoj među svetima

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

i koje li prekomjerne veličine u moći njegovoj prema nama koji vjerujemo: ona je primjerena djelotvornosti sile i snage njegove

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

koju na djelu pokaza u Kristu, kad ga uskrisi od mrtvih i posjede sebi zdesna na nebesima

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

iznad svakog Vrhovništva i Vlasti i Moći i Gospodstva i svakog imena imenovana ne samo na ovom svijetu nego i u budućemu.

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Sve mu podloži pod noge, a njega postavi - nad svime - Glavom Crkvi,

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

koja je Tijelo njegovo, punina Onoga koji sve u svima ispunja.

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
