Luke 11

Có một ngày, Ðức Chúa Jêsus cầu nguyện ở nơi kia. Khi cầu nguyện xong, một môn đồ thưa Ngài rằng: Lạy Chúa, xin dạy chúng tôi cầu nguyện, cũng như Giăng đã dạy môn đồ mình.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

Ngài phán rằng: Khi các ngươi cầu nguyện, hãy nói: Lạy Cha! danh Cha được thánh; nước Cha được đến;

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

xin cho chúng tôi ngày nào đủ bánh ngày ấy;

Give us day by day our daily bread.

xin tha tội chúng tôi, vì chúng tôi cũng tha kẻ mích lòng mình; và xin chớ đem chúng tôi vào sự cám dỗ!

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Ðoạn, Ngài phán cùng môn đồ rằng: Nếu một người trong các ngươi có bạn hữu, nửa đêm đến nói rằng: Bạn ơi, cho tôi mượn ba cái bánh,

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

vì người bạn tôi đi đường mới tới, tôi không có chi đãi người.

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

Nếu người kia ở trong nhà trả lời rằng: Ðừng khuấy rối tôi, cửa đóng rồi, con cái và tôi đã đi ngủ, không dậy được mà lấy bánh cho anh;

And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

ta nói cùng các ngươi, dầu người ấy không chịu dậy cho bánh vì là bạn mình, nhưng vì cớ người kia làm rộn, sẽ dậy và cho người đủ sự cần dùng.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

Ta lại nói cùng các ngươi: Hãy xin, sẽ ban cho; hãy tìm, sẽ gặp; hãy gõ cửa, sẽ mở cho.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Vì hễ ai xin thì được, ai tìm thì gặp, và sẽ mở cửa cho ai gõ.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Trong các ngươi có ai làm cha, khi con mình xin bánh mà cho đá chăng? Hay là xin cá, mà cho rắn thay vì cá chăng?

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Hay là xin trứng, mà cho bò cạp chăng?

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

Vậy nếu các ngươi là người xấu, còn biết cho con cái mình vật tốt thay, huống chi Cha các ngươi ở trên trời lại chẳng ban Ðức Thánh Linh cho người xin Ngài!

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Ðức Chúa Jêsus đuổi một quỉ câm; khi quỉ ra khỏi, người câm liền nói được. Dân chúng đều lấy làm lạ;

And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

song có mấy kẻ nói rằng: Người nầy nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun là chúa quỉ mà trừ quỉ.

But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

Kẻ khác muốn thử Ngài, thì xin Ngài một dấu lạ từ trời xuống.

And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

Ðức Chúa Jêsus biết ý tưởng họ, bèn phán rằng: Nước nào tự chia rẽ nhau thì đổ xuống.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Vậy, nếu quỉ Sa-tan tự chia rẽ nhau, thì nước nó còn sao được, vì các ngươi nói ta nhờ Bê-ê-xê-bun mà trừ quỉ?

If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

Nếu ta nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun mà trừ quỉ, thì con các ngươi nhờ ai mà trừ quỉ? Bởi vậy, chính con các ngươi sẽ làm quan án các ngươi.

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

Nhưng nếu ta cậy ngón tay Ðức Chúa Trời mà trừ quỉ, thì nước Ðức Chúa Trời đã đến nơi các ngươi rồi.

But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Khi một người mạnh sức cầm khí giới giữ cửa nhà mình, thì của cải nó vững vàng.

When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

Nhưng có người khác mạnh hơn đến thắng được, thì cướp lấy khí giới người kia đã nhờ cậy, và phân phát sạch của cải.

But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

Phàm ai không theo ta, thì nghịch cùng ta, ai không thâu hiệp với ta, thì tan lạc.

He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

Khi tà ma đã ra khỏi một người, thì đi dông dài các nơi khô khan để kiếm chỗ nghỉ. Kiếm không được, thì nó nói rằng: Ta sẽ trở về nhà ta là nơi ta mới ra khỏi.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

Nó trở về, thấy nhà quét sạch và dọn dẹp tử tế,

And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

bèn đi rủ bảy quỉ khác dữ hơn mình vào nhà mà ở; vậy số phận người nầy lại khốn khổ hơn phen trước.

Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Ðức Chúa Jêsus đương phán những điều ấy, có một người đờn bà ở giữa dân chúng cất tiếng thưa rằng: Phước cho dạ đã mang Ngài và vú đã cho Ngài bú!

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Những kẻ nghe và giữ lời Ðức Chúa Trời còn có phước hơn!

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Khi dân chúng nhóm lại đông lắm, Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Dòng dõi nầy là dòng dõi độc ác; họ xin một dấu lạ, song sẽ không cho dấu lạ nào khác hơn dấu lạ của Giô-na.

And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

Vì Giô-na là dấu lạ cho dân thành Ni-ni-ve, thì cũng một thể ấy, Con người sẽ là dấu lạ cho dòng dõi nầy.

For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

Ðến ngày phán xét, nữ hoàng Nam phương sẽ đứng dậy với người của dòng dõi nầy và lên án họ, vì người từ nơi đầu cùng đất đến nghe lời khôn ngoan vua Sa-lô-môn, mà nầy, ở đây có Ðấng hơn vua Sa-lô-môn!

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Ðến ngày phán xét, dân thành Ni-ni-ve sẽ đứng dậy với người của dòng dõi nầy và lên án họ, vì dân ấy đã nghe lời Giô-na giảng dạy và ăn năn; mà nầy, ở đây có Ðấng hơn Giô-na.

The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Không ai thắp đèn mà để chỗ khuất hay là dưới thùng, nhưng để trên chơn đèn, hầu cho kẻ vào được thấy sáng.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

Mắt là đèn của thân thể; nếu mắt ngươi sõi sàng, cả thân thể ngươi được sáng láng; song nếu mắt ngươi xấu, thân thể ngươi phải tối tăm.

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Ấy vậy, hãy coi chừng kẻo sự sáng trong mình ngươi hóa ra sự tối chăng.

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Nếu cả thân thể ngươi sáng láng, không có phần nào tối tăm, thì sẽ được sáng hết thảy, cũng như khi có cái đèn soi sáng cho ngươi vậy.

If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Ðức Chúa Jêsus đương phán, có một người Pha-ri-si mời Ngài về nhà dùng bữa. Ngài vào ngồi bàn.

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

Người Pha-ri-si thấy Ngài không rửa trước bữa ăn, thì lấy làm lạ.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

Nhưng Chúa phán rằng: Hỡi các ngươi là người Pha-ri-si, các ngươi rửa sạch bề ngoài chén và mâm, song bề trong đầy sự trộm cướp và điều dữ.

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

Hỡi kẻ dại dột! Ðấng đã làm nên bề ngoài, há không làm nên bề trong nữa sao?

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

Thà các ngươi lấy của mình có mà bố thí, thì mọi điều sẽ sạch cho các ngươi.

But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Song khốn cho các ngươi, người Pha-ri-si, vì các ngươi nộp một phần mười về bạc hà, hồi hương, cùng mọi thứ rau, còn sự công bình và sự kính mến Ðức Chúa Trời, thì các ngươi bỏ qua! Ấy là các việc phải làm, mà cũng không nên bỏ qua các việc khác.

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Khốn cho các ngươi, người Pha-ri-si, vì các ngươi ưa ngôi cao nhứt trong nhà hội, và thích người ta chào mình giữa chợ!

Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

Khốn cho các ngươi, vì các ngươi giống như mả loạn, người ta bước lên trên mà không biết!

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

Một thầy dạy luật bèn cất tiếng nói rằng: Thưa thầy, thầy nói vậy cũng làm sỉ nhục chúng tôi.

Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Khốn cho các ngươi nữa, là thầy dạy luật, vì các ngươi chất cho người ta gánh nặng khó mang, mà tự mình thì không động ngón tay đến!

And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

Khốn cho các ngươi, vì các ngươi xây mồ mả các đấng tiên tri mà tổ phụ mình đã giết!

Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Như vậy, các ngươi làm chứng và ưng thuận việc tổ phụ mình đã làm; vì họ đã giết các đấng tiên tri, còn các ngươi lại xây mồ cho.

Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

Vậy nên, sự khôn ngoan của Ðức Chúa Trời đã phán rằng: Ta sẽ sai đấng tiên tri và sứ đồ đến cùng chúng nó; chúng nó sẽ giết kẻ nầy, bắt bớ kẻ kia,

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

hầu cho huyết mọi đấng tiên tri đổ ra từ khi sáng thế, cứ dòng dõi nầy mà đòi,

That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

là từ huyết A-bên cho đến huyết Xa-cha-ri đã bị giết giữa khoảng bàn thờ và đền thờ; phải, ta nói cùng các ngươi, sẽ cứ dòng dõi nầy mà đòi huyết ấy.

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

Khốn cho các ngươi, là thầy dạy luật, vì các ngươi đã đoạt lấy chìa khóa của sự biết, chính mình không vào, mà người khác muốn vào, lại ngăn cấm không cho!

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus ra khỏi đó rồi, các thầy thông giáo và người Pha-ra-si bèn ra sức ép Ngài dữ tợn, lấy nhiều câu hỏi khêu chọc Ngài,

And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

và lập mưu để bắt bẻ lời nào từ miệng Ngài nói ra.

Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
