Mark 11

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

وہ یروشلم کے قریب بیت فگے اور بیت عنیاہ پہنچنے لگے۔ یہ گاؤں زیتون کے پہاڑ پر واقع تھے۔ عیسیٰ نے اپنے شاگردوں میں سے دو کو بھیجا

And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

اور کہا، ”سامنے والے گاؤں میں جاؤ۔ وہاں تم ایک جوان گدھا دیکھو گے۔ وہ بندھا ہوا ہو گا اور اب تک کوئی بھی اُس پر سوار نہیں ہوا ہے۔ اُسے کھول کر یہاں لے آؤ۔

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

اگر کوئی پوچھے کہ یہ کیا کر رہے ہو تو اُسے بتا دینا، ’خداوند کو اِس کی ضرورت ہے۔ وہ جلد ہی اِسے واپس بھیج دیں گے‘۔“

And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

دونوں شاگرد وہاں گئے تو ایک جوان گدھا دیکھا جو باہر گلی میں کسی دروازے کے ساتھ بندھا ہوا تھا۔ جب وہ اُس کی رسّی کھولنے لگے

And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

تو وہاں کھڑے کچھ لوگوں نے پوچھا، ”تم یہ کیا کر رہے ہو؟ جوان گدھے کو کیوں کھول رہے ہو؟“

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

اُنہوں نے جواب میں وہ کچھ بتا دیا جو عیسیٰ نے اُنہیں کہا تھا۔ اِس پر لوگوں نے اُنہیں کھولنے دیا۔

And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

وہ جوان گدھے کو عیسیٰ کے پاس لے آئے اور اپنے کپڑے اُس پر رکھ دیئے۔ پھر عیسیٰ اُس پر سوار ہوا۔

And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

جب وہ چل پڑا تو بہت سے لوگوں نے اُس کے آگے آگے راستے میں اپنے کپڑے بچھا دیئے۔ بعض نے ہری شاخیں بھی اُس کے آگے بچھا دیں جو اُنہوں نے کھیتوں کے درختوں سے کاٹ لی تھیں۔

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

لوگ عیسیٰ کے آگے اور پیچھے چل رہے تھے اور چلّا چلّا کر نعرے لگا رہے تھے، ”ہوشعنا ! مبارک ہے وہ جو رب کے نام سے آتا ہے۔

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

مبارک ہے ہمارے باپ داؤد کی بادشاہی جو آ رہی ہے۔ آسمان کی بلندیوں پر ہوشعنا ۔“

And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

یوں عیسیٰ یروشلم میں داخل ہوا۔ وہ بیت المُقدّس میں گیا اور اپنے ارد گرد نظر دوڑا کر سب کچھ دیکھنے کے بعد چلا گیا۔ چونکہ شام کا پچھلا وقت تھا اِس لئے وہ بارہ شاگردوں سمیت شہر سے نکل کر بیت عنیاہ واپس گیا۔

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

اگلے دن جب وہ بیت عنیاہ سے نکل رہے تھے تو عیسیٰ کو بھوک لگی۔

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

اُس نے کچھ فاصلے پر انجیر کا ایک درخت دیکھا جس پر پتے تھے۔ اِس لئے وہ یہ دیکھنے کے لئے اُس کے پاس گیا کہ آیا کوئی پھل لگا ہے یا نہیں۔ لیکن جب وہ وہاں پہنچا تو دیکھا کہ پتے ہی پتے ہیں۔ وجہ یہ تھی کہ انجیر کا موسم نہیں تھا۔

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

اِس پر عیسیٰ نے درخت سے کہا، ”اب سے ہمیشہ تک تجھ سے پھل کھایا نہ جا سکے!“ اُس کے شاگردوں نے اُس کی یہ بات سن لی۔

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

وہ یروشلم پہنچ گئے۔ اور عیسیٰ بیت المُقدّس میں جا کر اُنہیں نکالنے لگا جو وہاں قربانیوں کے لئے درکار چیزوں کی خرید و فروخت کر رہے تھے۔ اُس نے سِکوں کا تبادلہ کرنے والوں کی میزیں اور کبوتر بیچنے والوں کی کرسیاں اُلٹ دیں

And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

اور جو تجارتی مال لے کر بیت المُقدّس کے صحنوں میں سے گزر رہے تھے اُنہیں روک لیا۔

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

تعلیم دے کر اُس نے کہا، ”کیا کلامِ مُقدّس میں نہیں لکھا ہے، ’میرا گھر تمام قوموں کے لئے دعا کا گھر کہلائے گا‘؟ لیکن تم نے اُسے ڈاکوؤں کے اڈّے میں بدل دیا ہے۔“

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

راہنما اماموں اور شریعت کے علما نے جب یہ سنا تو اُسے قتل کرنے کا موقع ڈھونڈنے لگے۔ کیونکہ وہ اُس سے ڈرتے تھے اِس لئے کہ پورا ہجوم اُس کی تعلیم سے نہایت حیران تھا۔

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

جب شام ہوئی تو عیسیٰ اور اُس کے شاگرد شہر سے نکل گئے۔

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

اگلے دن وہ صبح سویرے انجیر کے اُس درخت کے پاس سے گزرے جس پر عیسیٰ نے لعنت بھیجی تھی۔ جب اُنہوں نے اُس پر غور کیا تو معلوم ہوا کہ وہ جڑوں تک سوکھ گیا ہے۔

And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

تب پطرس کو وہ بات یاد آئی جو عیسیٰ نے کل انجیر کے درخت سے کی تھی۔ اُس نے کہا، ”اُستاد، یہ دیکھیں! انجیر کے جس درخت پر آپ نے لعنت بھیجی تھی وہ سوکھ گیا ہے۔“

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”اللہ پر ایمان رکھو۔

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ اگر کوئی اِس پہاڑ سے کہے، ’اُٹھ، اپنے آپ کو سمندر میں گرا دے‘ تو یہ ہو جائے گا۔ شرط صرف یہ ہے کہ وہ شک نہ کرے بلکہ ایمان رکھے کہ جو کچھ اُس نے کہا ہے وہ اُس کے لئے ہو جائے گا۔

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

اِس لئے مَیں تم کو بتاتا ہوں، جب بھی تم دعا کر کے کچھ مانگتے ہو تو ایمان رکھو کہ تم کو مل گیا ہے۔ پھر وہ تمہیں ضرور مل جائے گا۔

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

اور جب تم کھڑے ہو کر دعا کرتے ہو تو اگر تمہیں کسی سے شکایت ہو تو پہلے اُسے معاف کرو تاکہ آسمان پر تمہارا باپ بھی تمہارے گناہوں کو معاف کرے۔

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

[اور اگر تم معاف نہ کرو تو تمہارا آسمانی باپ تمہارے گناہ بھی معاف نہیں کرے گا۔]“

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

وہ ایک اَور دفعہ یروشلم پہنچ گئے۔ اور جب عیسیٰ بیت المُقدّس میں پھر رہا تھا تو راہنما امام، شریعت کے علما اور بزرگ اُس کے پاس آئے۔

And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

اُنہوں نے پوچھا، ”آپ یہ سب کچھ کس اختیار سے کر رہے ہیں؟ کس نے آپ کو یہ کرنے کا اختیار دیا ہے؟“

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”میرا بھی تم سے ایک سوال ہے۔ اِس کا جواب دو تو پھر تم کو بتا دوں گا کہ مَیں یہ کس اختیار سے کر رہا ہوں۔

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

مجھے بتاؤ، کیا یحییٰ کا بپتسمہ آسمانی تھا یا انسانی؟“

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

وہ آپس میں بحث کرنے لگے، ”اگر ہم کہیں ’آسمانی‘ تو وہ پوچھے گا، ’تو پھر تم اُس پر ایمان کیوں نہ لائے؟‘

But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.

لیکن ہم کیسے کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ وہ انسانی تھا؟“ وجہ یہ تھی کہ وہ عام لوگوں سے ڈرتے تھے، کیونکہ سب مانتے تھے کہ یحییٰ واقعی نبی تھا۔

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

چنانچہ اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”ہم نہیں جانتے۔“ عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”تو پھر مَیں بھی تم کو نہیں بتاتا کہ مَیں یہ سب کچھ کس اختیار سے کر رہا ہوں۔“
