Mark 12

And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

پھر وہ تمثیلوں میں اُن سے بات کرنے لگا۔ ”کسی آدمی نے انگور کا ایک باغ لگایا۔ اُس نے اُس کی چاردیواری بنائی، انگوروں کا رس نکالنے کے لئے ایک گڑھے کی کھدائی کی اور پہرے داروں کے لئے بُرج تعمیر کیا۔ پھر وہ اُسے مزارعوں کے سپرد کر کے بیرونِ ملک چلا گیا۔

And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

جب انگور پک گئے تو اُس نے اپنے نوکر کو مزارعوں کے پاس بھیج دیا تاکہ وہ اُن سے مالک کا حصہ وصول کرے۔

And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

لیکن مزارعوں نے اُسے پکڑ کر اُس کی پٹائی کی اور اُسے خالی ہاتھ لوٹا دیا۔

And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

پھر مالک نے ایک اَور نوکر کو بھیج دیا۔ لیکن اُنہوں نے اُس کی بھی بےعزتی کر کے اُس کا سر پھوڑ دیا۔

And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

جب مالک نے تیسرے نوکر کو بھیجا تو اُنہوں نے اُسے مار ڈالا۔ یوں اُس نے کئی ایک کو بھیجا۔ بعض کو اُنہوں نے مارا پیٹا، بعض کو قتل کیا۔

Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

آخرکار صرف ایک باقی رہ گیا تھا۔ وہ تھا اُس کا پیارا بیٹا۔ اب اُس نے اُسے بھیج کر کہا، ’آخر میرے بیٹے کا تو لحاظ کریں گے۔‘

But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

لیکن مزارع ایک دوسرے سے کہنے لگے، ’یہ زمین کا وارث ہے۔ آؤ ہم اِسے مار ڈالیں تو پھر اِس کی میراث ہماری ہی ہو گی۔‘

And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

اُنہوں نے اُسے پکڑ کر قتل کیا اور باغ سے باہر پھینک دیا۔

What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

اب بتاؤ، باغ کا مالک کیا کرے گا؟ وہ جا کر مزارعوں کو ہلاک کرے گا اور باغ کو دوسروں کے سپرد کر دے گا۔

And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

کیا تم نے کلامِ مُقدّس کا یہ حوالہ نہیں پڑھا، ’جس پتھر کو مکان بنانے والوں نے رد کیا وہ کونے کا بنیادی پتھر بن گیا۔

This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

یہ رب نے کیا اور دیکھنے میں کتنا حیرت انگیز ہے‘۔“

And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

اِس پر دینی راہنماؤں نے عیسیٰ کو گرفتار کرنے کی کوشش کی، کیونکہ وہ سمجھ گئے تھے کہ تمثیل میں بیان شدہ مزارع ہم ہی ہیں۔ لیکن وہ ہجوم سے ڈرتے تھے، اِس لئے وہ اُسے چھوڑ کر چلے گئے۔

And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

بعد میں اُنہوں نے کچھ فریسیوں اور ہیرودیس کے پیروکاروں کو اُس کے پاس بھیج دیا تاکہ وہ اُسے کوئی ایسی بات کرنے پر اُبھاریں جس سے اُسے پکڑا جا سکے۔

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?

وہ اُس کے پاس آ کر کہنے لگے، ”اُستاد، ہم جانتے ہیں کہ آپ سچے ہیں اور کسی کی پروا نہیں کرتے۔ آپ جانب دار نہیں ہوتے بلکہ دیانت داری سے اللہ کی راہ کی تعلیم دیتے ہیں۔ اب ہمیں بتائیں کہ کیا رومی شہنشاہ کو ٹیکس دینا جائز ہے یا ناجائز؟ کیا ہم ادا کریں یا نہ کریں؟“

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

لیکن عیسیٰ نے اُن کی ریاکاری جان کر اُن سے کہا، ”مجھے کیوں پھنسانا چاہتے ہو؟ چاندی کا ایک رومی سِکہ میرے پاس لے آؤ۔“

And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar's.

وہ ایک سِکہ اُس کے پاس لے آئے تو اُس نے پوچھا، ”کس کی صورت اور نام اِس پر کندہ ہے؟“ اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”شہنشاہ کا۔“

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

اُس نے کہا، ”تو جو شہنشاہ کا ہے شہنشاہ کو دو اور جو اللہ کا ہے اللہ کو۔“ اُس کا یہ جواب سن کر اُنہوں نے بڑا تعجب کیا۔

Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

پھر کچھ صدوقی عیسیٰ کے پاس آئے۔ صدوقی نہیں مانتے کہ روزِ قیامت مُردے جی اُٹھیں گے۔ اُنہوں نے عیسیٰ سے ایک سوال کیا،

Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

”اُستاد، موسیٰ نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ اگر کوئی شادی شدہ آدمی بےاولاد مر جائے اور اُس کا بھائی ہو تو بھائی کا فرض ہے کہ وہ بیوہ سے شادی کر کے اپنے بھائی کے لئے اولاد پیدا کرے۔

Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

اب فرض کریں کہ سات بھائی تھے۔ پہلے نے شادی کی، لیکن بےاولاد فوت ہوا۔

And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.

اِس پر دوسرے نے اُس سے شادی کی، لیکن وہ بھی بےاولاد مر گیا۔ پھر تیسرے بھائی نے اُس سے شادی کی۔

And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

یہ سلسلہ ساتویں بھائی تک جاری رہا۔ یکے بعد دیگرے ہر بھائی بیوہ سے شادی کرنے کے بعد مر گیا۔ آخر میں بیوہ بھی فوت ہو گئی۔

In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

اب بتائیں کہ قیامت کے دن وہ کس کی بیوی ہو گی؟ کیونکہ سات کے سات بھائیوں نے اُس سے شادی کی تھی۔“

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”تم اِس لئے غلطی پر ہو کہ نہ تم کلامِ مُقدّس سے واقف ہو، نہ اللہ کی قدرت سے۔

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

کیونکہ جب مُردے جی اُٹھیں گے تو نہ وہ شادی کریں گے نہ اُن کی شادی کرائی جائے گی بلکہ وہ آسمان پر فرشتوں کی مانند ہوں گے۔

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

رہی یہ بات کہ مُردے جی اُٹھیں گے۔ کیا تم نے موسیٰ کی کتاب میں نہیں پڑھا کہ اللہ جلتی ہوئی جھاڑی میں سے کس طرح موسیٰ سے ہم کلام ہوا؟ اُس نے فرمایا، ’مَیں ابراہیم کا خدا، اسحاق کا خدا اور یعقوب کا خدا ہوں،‘ حالانکہ اُس وقت تینوں کافی عرصے سے مر چکے تھے۔

He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

اِس کا مطلب ہے کہ یہ حقیقت میں زندہ ہیں، کیونکہ اللہ مُردوں کا نہیں، بلکہ زندوں کا خدا ہے۔ تم سے بڑی غلطی ہوئی ہے۔“

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

اِتنے میں شریعت کا ایک عالِم اُن کے پاس آیا۔ اُس نے اُنہیں بحث کرتے ہوئے سنا تھا اور جان لیا کہ عیسیٰ نے اچھا جواب دیا، اِس لئے اُس نے پوچھا، ”تمام احکام میں سے کون سا حکم سب سے اہم ہے؟“

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”اوّل حکم یہ ہے: ’سن اے اسرائیل! رب ہمارا خدا ایک ہی رب ہے۔

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

رب اپنے خدا سے اپنے پورے دل، اپنی پوری جان، اپنے پورے ذہن اور اپنی پوری طاقت سے پیار کرنا۔‘

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

دوسرا حکم یہ ہے: ’اپنے پڑوسی سے ویسی محبت رکھنا جیسی تُو اپنے آپ سے رکھتا ہے۔‘ دیگر کوئی بھی حکم اِن دو احکام سے اہم نہیں ہے۔“

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

اُس عالِم نے کہا، ”شاباش، اُستاد! آپ نے سچ کہا ہے کہ اللہ صرف ایک ہی ہے اور اُس کے سوا کوئی اَور نہیں ہے۔

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

ہمیں اُسے اپنے پورے دل، اپنے پورے ذہن اور اپنی پوری طاقت سے پیار کرنا چاہئے اور ساتھ ساتھ اپنے پڑوسی سے ویسی محبت رکھنی چاہئے جیسی اپنے آپ سے رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ دو احکام بھسم ہونے والی تمام قربانیوں اور دیگر نذروں سے زیادہ اہمیت رکھتے ہیں۔“

And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

جب عیسیٰ نے اُس کا یہ جواب سنا تو اُس سے کہا، ”تُو اللہ کی بادشاہی سے دُور نہیں ہے۔“ اِس کے بعد کسی نے بھی اُس سے سوال پوچھنے کی جرٲت نہ کی۔

And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?

جب عیسیٰ بیت المُقدّس میں تعلیم دے رہا تھا تو اُس نے پوچھا، ”شریعت کے علما کیوں دعویٰ کرتے ہیں کہ مسیح داؤد کا فرزند ہے؟

For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

کیونکہ داؤد نے تو خود روح القدس کی معرفت یہ فرمایا، ’رب نے میرے رب سے کہا، میرے دہنے ہاتھ بیٹھ، جب تک مَیں تیرے دشمنوں کو تیرے پاؤں کے نیچے نہ کر دوں۔‘

David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

داؤد تو خود مسیح کو رب کہتا ہے۔ تو پھر وہ کس طرح داؤد کا فرزند ہو سکتا ہے؟“ ایک بڑا ہجوم مزے سے عیسیٰ کی باتیں سن رہا تھا۔

And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

اُنہیں تعلیم دیتے وقت اُس نے کہا، ”علما سے خبردار رہو! کیونکہ وہ شاندار چوغے پہن کر اِدھر اُدھر پھرنا پسند کرتے ہیں۔ جب لوگ بازاروں میں سلام کر کے اُن کی عزت کرتے ہیں تو پھر وہ خوش ہو جاتے ہیں۔

And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

اُن کی بس ایک ہی خواہش ہوتی ہے کہ عبادت خانوں اور ضیافتوں میں عزت کی کرسیوں پر بیٹھ جائیں۔

Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

یہ لوگ بیواؤں کے گھر ہڑپ کر جاتے اور ساتھ ساتھ دکھاوے کے لئے لمبی لمبی دعائیں مانگتے ہیں۔ ایسے لوگوں کو نہایت سخت سزا ملے گی۔“

And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

عیسیٰ بیت المُقدّس کے چندے کے بکس کے مقابل بیٹھ گیا اور ہجوم کو ہدیئے ڈالتے ہوئے دیکھنے لگا۔ کئی امیر بڑی بڑی رقمیں ڈال رہے تھے۔

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

پھر ایک غریب بیوہ بھی وہاں سے گزری جس نے اُس میں تانبے کے دو معمولی سے سِکے ڈال دیئے۔

And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

عیسیٰ نے شاگردوں کو اپنے پاس بُلا کر کہا، ”مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ اِس غریب بیوہ نے تمام لوگوں کی نسبت زیادہ ڈالا ہے۔

For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

کیونکہ اِن سب نے اپنی دولت کی کثرت سے دے دیا جبکہ اُس نے ضرورت مند ہونے کے باوجود بھی اپنے گزارے کے سارے پیسے دے دیئے ہیں۔“
