Isaiah 10

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;

تم پر افسوس جو غلط قوانین صادر کرتے اور ظالم فتوے دیتے ہو

To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

تاکہ غریبوں کا حق مارو اور مظلوموں کے حقوق پامال کرو۔ بیوائیں تمہارا شکار ہوتی ہیں، اور تم یتیموں کو لُوٹ لیتے ہو۔

And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

لیکن عدالت کے دن تم کیا کرو گے، جب دُور دُور سے زبردست طوفان تم پر آن پڑے گا تو تم مدد کے لئے کس کے پاس بھاگو گے اور اپنا مال و دولت کہاں محفوظ رکھ چھوڑو گے؟

Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

جو جھک کر قیدی نہ بنے وہ گر کر ہلاک ہو جائے گا۔ تاہم رب کا غضب ٹھنڈا نہیں ہو گا بلکہ اُس کا ہاتھ مارنے کے لئے اُٹھا ہی رہے گا۔

O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

اسور پر افسوس جو میرے غضب کا آلہ ہے، جس کے ہاتھ میں میرے قہر کی لاٹھی ہے۔

I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

مَیں اُسے ایک بےدین قوم کے خلاف بھیج رہا ہوں، ایک قوم کے خلاف جو مجھے غصہ دلاتی ہے۔ مَیں نے اسور کو حکم دیا ہے کہ اُسے لُوٹ کر گلی کی کیچڑ کی طرح پامال کر۔

Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

لیکن اُس کا اپنا ارادہ فرق ہے۔ وہ ایسی سوچ نہیں رکھتا بلکہ سب کچھ تباہ کرنے پر تُلا ہوا ہے، بہت قوموں کو نیست و نابود کرنے پر آمادہ ہے۔

For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?

وہ فخر کرتا ہے، ”میرے تمام افسر تو بادشاہ ہیں۔

Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?

پھر ہماری فتوحات پر غور کرو۔ کرکِمیس، کلنو، ارفاد، حمات، دمشق اور سامریہ جیسے تمام شہر یکے بعد دیگرے میرے قبضے میں آ گئے ہیں۔

As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

مَیں نے کئی سلطنتوں پر قابو پا لیا ہے جن کے بُت یروشلم اور سامریہ کے بُتوں سے کہیں بہتر تھے۔

Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?

سامریہ اور اُس کے بُتوں کو مَیں برباد کر چکا ہوں، اور اب مَیں یروشلم اور اُس کے بُتوں کے ساتھ بھی ایسا ہی کروں گا!“

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

لیکن کوہِ صیون پر اور یروشلم میں اپنے تمام مقاصد پورے کرنے کے بعد رب فرمائے گا، ”مَیں شاہِ اسور کو بھی سزا دوں گا، کیونکہ اُس کے مغرور دل سے کتنا بُرا کام اُبھر آیا ہے، اور اُس کی آنکھیں کتنے غرور سے دیکھتی ہیں۔

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:

وہ شیخی مار کر کہتا ہے، ’مَیں نے اپنے ہی زورِ بازو اور حکمت سے یہ سب کچھ کر لیا ہے، کیونکہ مَیں سمجھ دار ہوں۔ مَیں نے قوموں کی حدود ختم کر کے اُن کے خزانوں کو لُوٹ لیا اور زبردست سانڈ کی طرح اُن کے بادشاہوں کو مار مار کر خاک میں ملا دیا ہے۔

And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.

جس طرح کوئی اپنا ہاتھ گھونسلے میں ڈال کر انڈے نکال لیتا ہے اُسی طرح مَیں نے قوموں کی دولت چھین لی ہے۔ عام آدمی پرندوں کو بھگا کر اُن کے چھوڑے ہوئے انڈے اکٹھے کر لیتا ہے جبکہ مَیں نے یہی سلوک دنیا کے تمام ممالک کے ساتھ کیا۔ جب مَیں اُنہیں اپنے قبضے میں لایا تو ایک نے بھی اپنے پَروں کو پھڑپھڑانے یا چونچ کھول کر چیں چیں کرنے کی جرٲت نہ کی‘۔“

Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

لیکن کیا کلہاڑی اُس کے سامنے شیخی بگھارتی جو اُسے چلاتا ہے؟ کیا آری اُس کے سامنے اپنے آپ پر فخر کرتی جو اُسے استعمال کرتا ہے؟ یہ اُتنا ہی ناممکن ہے جتنا یہ کہ لاٹھی پکڑنے والے کو گھمائے یا ڈنڈا آدمی کو اُٹھائے۔

Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.

چنانچہ قادرِ مطلق رب الافواج اسور کے موٹے تازے فوجیوں میں ایک مرض پھیلا دے گا جو اُن کے جسموں کو رفتہ رفتہ ضائع کرے گا۔ اسور کی شان و شوکت کے نیچے ایک بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ لگائی جائے گی۔

And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;

اُس وقت اسرائیل کا نور آگ اور اسرائیل کا قدوس شعلہ بن کر اسور کی کانٹےدار جھاڑیوں اور اونٹ کٹاروں کو ایک ہی دن میں بھسم کر دے گا۔

And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.

وہ اُس کے شاندار جنگلوں اور باغوں کو مکمل طور پر تباہ کر دے گا، اور وہ مریض کی طرح گھل گھل کر زائل ہو جائیں گے۔

And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.

جنگلوں کے اِتنے کم درخت بچیں گے کہ بچہ بھی اُنہیں گن کر کتاب میں درج کر سکے گا۔

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

اُس دن سے اسرائیل کا بقیہ یعنی یعقوب کے گھرانے کا بچا کھچا حصہ اُس پر مزید انحصار نہیں کرے گا جو اُسے مارتا رہا تھا، بلکہ وہ پوری وفاداری سے اسرائیل کے قدوس، رب پر بھروسا رکھے گا۔

The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

بقیہ واپس آئے گا، یعقوب کا بچا کھچا حصہ قوی خدا کے حضور لوٹ آئے گا۔

For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

اے اسرائیل، گو تُو ساحل پر کی ریت جیسا بےشمار کیوں نہ ہو توبھی صرف ایک بچا ہوا حصہ واپس آئے گا۔ تیرے برباد ہونے کا فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے، اور انصاف کا سیلاب ملک پر آنے والا ہے۔

For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

کیونکہ اِس کا اٹل فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے کہ قادرِ مطلق رب الافواج پورے ملک پر ہلاکت لانے کو ہے۔

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

اِس لئے قادرِ مطلق رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”اے صیون میں بسنے والی میری قوم، اسور سے مت ڈرنا جو لاٹھی سے تجھے مارتا ہے اور تیرے خلاف لاٹھی یوں اُٹھاتا ہے جس طرح پہلے مصر کیا کرتا تھا۔

For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

میرا تجھ پر غصہ جلد ہی ٹھنڈا ہو جائے گا اور میرا غضب اسوریوں پر نازل ہو کر اُنہیں ختم کرے گا۔“

And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

جس طرح رب الافواج نے مِدیانیوں کو مارا جب جدعون نے عوریب کی چٹان پر اُنہیں شکست دی اُسی طرح وہ اسوریوں کو بھی کوڑے سے مارے گا۔ اور جس طرح رب نے اپنی لاٹھی موسیٰ کے ذریعے سمندر کے اوپر اُٹھائی اور نتیجے میں مصر کی فوج اُس میں ڈوب گئی بالکل اُسی طرح وہ اسوریوں کے ساتھ بھی کرے گا۔

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

اُس دن اسور کا بوجھ تیرے کندھوں پر سے اُتر جائے گا، اور اُس کا جوا تیری گردن پر سے دُور ہو کر ٹوٹ جائے گا۔ فاتح نے یشیمون کی طرف سے چڑھ کر

He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:

عیات پر حملہ کیا ہے۔ اُس نے مجرون میں سے گزر کر مِکماس میں اپنا لشکری سامان چھوڑ رکھا ہے۔

They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

درے کو پار کر کے وہ کہتے ہیں، ”آج ہم رات کو جِبع میں گزاریں گے۔“ رامہ تھرتھرا رہا اور ساؤل کا شہر جِبعہ بھاگ گیا ہے۔

Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.

اے جلّیم بیٹی، زور سے چیخیں مار! اے لَیسہ، دھیان دے! اے عنتوت، اُسے جواب دے!

Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.

مدمینہ فرار ہو گیا اور جیبیم کے باشندوں نے دوسری جگہوں میں پناہ لی ہے۔

As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

آج ہی فاتح نوب کے پاس رُک کر صیون بیٹی کے پہاڑ یعنی کوہِ یروشلم کے اوپر ہاتھ ہلائے گا ۔

Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.

دیکھو، قادرِ مطلق رب الافواج بڑے زور سے شاخوں کو توڑنے والا ہے۔ تب اونچے اونچے درخت کٹ کر گر جائیں گے، اور جو سرفراز ہیں اُنہیں خاک میں ملایا جائے گا۔

And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.

وہ کلہاڑی لے کر گھنے جنگل کو کاٹ ڈالے گا بلکہ لبنان بھی زورآور کے ہاتھوں گر جائے گا۔
