Ephesians 1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

یہ خط پولس کی طرف سے ہے، جو اللہ کی مرضی سے مسیح عیسیٰ کا رسول ہے۔ مَیں اِفسس شہر کے مُقدّسین کو لکھ رہا ہوں، اُنہیں جو مسیح عیسیٰ میں ایمان دار ہیں۔

Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

خدا ہمارا باپ اور خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح آپ کو فضل اور سلامتی بخشیں۔

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

خدا ہمارے خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح کے باپ کی حمد و ثنا ہو! کیونکہ مسیح میں اُس نے ہمیں آسمان پر ہر روحانی برکت سے نوازا ہے۔

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

دنیا کی تخلیق سے پیشتر ہی اُس نے مسیح میں ہمیں چن لیا تاکہ ہم مُقدّس اور بےعیب حالت میں اُس کے سامنے زندگی گزاریں۔ یہ کتنی عظیم محبت تھی!

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

پہلے ہی سے اُس نے فیصلہ کر لیا کہ وہ ہمیں مسیح میں اپنے بیٹے بیٹیاں بنا لے گا۔ یہی اُس کی مرضی اور خوشی تھی

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

تاکہ ہم اُس کے جلالی فضل کی تمجید کریں، اُس مفت نعمت کے لئے جو اُس نے ہمیں اپنے پیارے فرزند میں دے دی۔

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

کیونکہ اُس نے مسیح کے خون سے ہمارا فدیہ دے کر ہمیں آزاد اور ہمارے گناہوں کو معاف کر دیا ہے۔ اللہ کا یہ فضل کتنا وسیع ہے

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

جو اُس نے کثرت سے ہمیں عطا کیا ہے۔ اپنی پوری حکمت اور دانائی کا اظہار کر کے

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

اللہ نے ہم پر اپنی پوشیدہ مرضی ظاہر کر دی، یعنی وہ منصوبہ جو اُسے پسند تھا اور جو اُس نے مسیح میں پہلے سے بنا رکھا تھا۔

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

منصوبہ یہ ہے کہ جب مقررہ وقت آئے گا تو اللہ مسیح میں تمام کائنات کو جمع کر دے گا۔ اُس وقت سب کچھ مل کر مسیح کے تحت ہو جائے گا، خواہ وہ آسمان پر ہو یا زمین پر۔

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

مسیح میں ہم آسمانی بادشاہی کے وارث بھی بن گئے ہیں۔ اللہ نے پہلے سے ہمیں اِس کے لئے مقرر کیا، کیونکہ وہ سب کچھ یوں سرانجام دیتا ہے کہ اُس کی مرضی کا ارادہ پورا ہو جائے۔

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

اور وہ چاہتا ہے کہ ہم اُس کے جلال کی ستائش کا باعث بنیں، ہم جنہوں نے پہلے سے مسیح پر اُمید رکھی۔

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

آپ بھی مسیح میں ہیں، کیونکہ آپ سچائی کا کلام اور اپنی نجات کی خوش خبری سن کر ایمان لائے۔ اور اللہ نے آپ پر بھی روح القدس کی مُہر لگا دی جس کا وعدہ اُس نے کیا تھا۔

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

روح القدس ہماری میراث کا بیعانہ ہے۔ وہ ہمیں یہ ضمانت دیتا ہے کہ اللہ ہمارا جو اُس کی ملکیت ہیں فدیہ دے کر ہمیں پوری مخلصی تک پہنچائے گا۔ کیونکہ ہماری زندگی کا مقصد یہ ہے کہ اُس کے جلال کی ستائش کی جائے۔

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

بھائیو، مَیں خداوند عیسیٰ پر آپ کے ایمان اور آپ کی تمام مُقدّسین سے محبت کے بارے میں سن کر

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

آپ کے لئے خدا کا شکر کرنے سے باز نہیں آتا بلکہ آپ کو اپنی دعاؤں میں یاد کرتا رہتا ہوں۔

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

میری خاص دعا یہ ہے کہ ہمارے خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح کا خدا اور جلالی باپ آپ کو دانائی اور مکاشفہ کی روح دے تاکہ آپ اُسے بہتر طور پر جان سکیں۔

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

وہ کرے کہ آپ کے دلوں کی آنکھیں روشن ہو جائیں۔ کیونکہ پھر ہی آپ جان لیں گے کہ یہ کیسی اُمید ہے جس کے لئے اُس نے آپ کو بُلایا ہے، کہ یہ جلالی میراث کیسی دولت ہے جو مُقدّسین کو حاصل ہے،

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

اور کہ ہم ایمان رکھنے والوں پر اُس کی قدرت کا اظہار کتنا زبردست ہے۔ یہ وہی بےحد قدرت ہے

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

جس سے اُس نے مسیح کو مُردوں میں سے زندہ کر کے آسمان پر اپنے دہنے ہاتھ بٹھایا۔

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

وہاں مسیح ہر حکمران، اختیار، قوت، حکومت، ہاں ہر نام سے کہیں سرفراز ہے، خواہ اِس دنیا میں ہو یا آنے والی دنیا میں۔

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

اللہ نے سب کچھ اُس کے پاؤں کے نیچے کر کے اُسے سب کا سر بنا دیا۔ یہ اُس نے اپنی جماعت کی خاطر کیا

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

جو مسیح کا بدن ہے اور جسے مسیح سے پوری معموری حاصل ہوتی ہے یعنی اُس سے جو ہر طرح سے سب کچھ معمور کر دیتا ہے۔
