I Kings 15

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

ابیاہ اسرائیل کے بادشاہ یرُبعام بن نباط کی حکومت کے 18ویں سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بنا۔

Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

وہ تین سال بادشاہ رہا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت یروشلم تھا۔ اُس کی ماں معکہ بنت ابی سلوم تھی۔

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

ابیاہ سے وہی گناہ سرزد ہوئے جو اُس کے باپ نے کئے تھے، اور وہ پورے دل سے رب اپنے خدا کا وفادار نہ رہا۔ گو وہ اِس میں اپنے پردادا داؤد سے فرق تھا

Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

توبھی رب اُس کے خدا نے ابیاہ کا یروشلم میں چراغ جلنے دیا۔ داؤد کی خاطر اُس نے اُسے جانشین عطا کیا اور یروشلم کو قائم رکھا،

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

کیونکہ داؤد نے وہ کچھ کیا تھا جو رب کو پسند تھا۔ جیتے جی وہ رب کے احکام کے تابع رہا، سوائے اُس جرم کے جب اُس نے اُوریاہ حِتّی کے سلسلے میں غلط قدم اُٹھائے تھے۔

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

رحبعام اور یرُبعام کے درمیان کی جنگ ابیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران بھی جاری رہی۔

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

باقی جو کچھ ابیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں دفن کیا گیا جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا آسا تخت نشین ہوا۔

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

آسا اسرائیل کے بادشاہ یرُبعام کے 20ویں سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بن گیا۔

And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 41 سال تھا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت یروشلم تھا۔ ماں کا نام معکہ تھا، اور وہ ابی سلوم کی بیٹی تھی۔

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

اپنے پردادا داؤد کی طرح آسا بھی وہ کچھ کرتا رہا جو رب کو پسند تھا۔

And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

اُس نے اُن جسم فروش مردوں اور عورتوں کو نکال دیا جو مندروں میں نام نہاد خدمت کرتے تھے اور اُن تمام بُتوں کو تباہ کر دیا جو اُس کے باپ دادا نے بنائے تھے۔

And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

اور گو اُس کی ماں بادشاہ کی ماں ہونے کے باعث بہت اثر و رسوخ رکھتی تھی، تاہم آسا نے یہ عُہدہ ختم کر دیا جب ماں نے یسیرت دیوی کا گھنونا کھمبا بنوا لیا۔ آسا نے یہ بُت کٹوا کر وادیِ قدرون میں جلا دیا۔

But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

افسوس کہ اُس نے اونچی جگہوں کے مندروں کو دُور نہ کیا۔ توبھی آسا جیتے جی پورے دل سے رب کا وفادار رہا۔

And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

سونا چاندی اور باقی جتنی چیزیں اُس کے باپ اور اُس نے رب کے لئے مخصوص کی تھیں اُن سب کو وہ رب کے گھر میں لایا۔

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا اور اسرائیل کے بادشاہ بعشا کے درمیان زندگی بھر جنگ جاری رہی۔

And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

ایک دن بعشا بادشاہ نے یہوداہ پر حملہ کر کے رامہ شہر کی قلعہ بندی کی۔ مقصد یہ تھا کہ نہ کوئی یہوداہ کے ملک میں داخل ہو سکے، نہ کوئی وہاں سے نکل سکے۔

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben–hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

جواب میں آسا نے شام کے بادشاہ بن ہدد کے پاس وفد بھیجا۔ بن ہدد کا باپ طاب رِمّون بن حزیون تھا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت دمشق تھا۔ آسا نے رب کے گھر اور شاہی محل کے خزانوں کا تمام بچا ہوا سونا اور چاندی وفد کے سپرد کر کے دمشق کے بادشاہ کو پیغام بھیجا،

There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

”میرا آپ کے ساتھ عہد ہے جس طرح میرے باپ کا آپ کے باپ کے ساتھ عہد تھا۔ گزارش ہے کہ آپ سونے چاندی کا یہ تحفہ قبول کر کے اسرائیل کے بادشاہ بعشا کے ساتھ اپنا عہد منسوخ کر دیں تاکہ وہ میرے ملک سے نکل جائے۔“

So Ben–hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel–beth–maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

بن ہدد متفق ہوا۔ اُس نے اپنے فوجی افسروں کو اسرائیل کے شہروں پر حملہ کرنے کے لئے بھیج دیا تو اُنہوں نے عِیون، دان، ابیل بیت معکہ، تمام کِنّرت اور نفتالی پر قبضہ کر لیا۔

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

جب بعشا کو اِس کی خبر ملی تو وہ رامہ کی قلعہ بندی کرنے سے باز آیا اور تِرضہ واپس چلا گیا۔

Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

پھر آسا بادشاہ نے یہوداہ کے تمام مردوں کی بھرتی کر کے اُنہیں رامہ بھیج دیا تاکہ وہ اُن تمام پتھروں اور شہتیروں کو اُٹھا کر لے جائیں جن سے بعشا بادشاہ رامہ کی قلعہ بندی کرنا چاہتا تھا۔ تمام مردوں کو وہاں جانا پڑا، ایک کو بھی چھٹی نہ ملی۔ اِس سامان سے آسا نے بن یمین کے شہر جِبع اور مِصفاہ کی قلعہ بندی کی۔

The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

باقی جو کچھ آسا کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔ اُس میں اُس کی کامیابیوں اور اُس کے تعمیر کئے گئے شہروں کا ذکر ہے۔ بُڑھاپے میں اُس کے پاؤں کو بیماری لگ گئی۔

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے خاندانی قبر میں دفنایا گیا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا یہوسفط اُس کی جگہ تخت نشین ہوا۔

And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

ندب بن یرُبعام یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کی حکومت کے دوسرے سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ دو سال تھا۔

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

اُس کا طرزِ زندگی رب کو پسند نہیں تھا، کیونکہ وہ اپنے باپ کے نمونے پر چلتا رہا۔ جو بدی یرُبعام نے اسرائیل کو کرنے پر اُکسایا تھا اُس سے ندب بھی دُور نہ ہوا۔

And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

ایک دن جب ندب اسرائیلی فوج کے ساتھ فلستی شہر جِبّتون کا محاصرہ کئے ہوئے تھا تو اِشکار کے قبیلے کے بعشا بن اخیاہ نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے مار ڈالا اور خود اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بن گیا۔ یہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کی حکومت کے تیسرے سال میں ہوا۔

Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

ایک دن جب ندب اسرائیلی فوج کے ساتھ فلستی شہر جِبّتون کا محاصرہ کئے ہوئے تھا تو اِشکار کے قبیلے کے بعشا بن اخیاہ نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے مار ڈالا اور خود اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بن گیا۔ یہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کی حکومت کے تیسرے سال میں ہوا۔

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

تخت پر بیٹھتے ہی بعشا نے یرُبعام کے پورے خاندان کو مروا دیا۔ اُس نے ایک کو بھی زندہ نہ چھوڑا۔ یوں وہ بات پوری ہوئی جو رب نے سَیلا کے رہنے والے اپنے خادم اخیاہ کی معرفت فرمائی تھی۔

Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

کیونکہ جو گناہ یرُبعام نے کئے اور اسرائیل کو کرنے پر اُکسایا تھا اُن سے اُس نے رب اسرائیل کے خدا کو طیش دلایا تھا۔

Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

باقی جو کچھ ندب کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

بعشا بن اخیاہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کی حکومت کے تیسرے سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 24 سال تھا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت تِرضہ رہا۔ اُس کے اور یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کے درمیان زندگی بھر جنگ جاری رہی۔

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

بعشا بن اخیاہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کی حکومت کے تیسرے سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 24 سال تھا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت تِرضہ رہا۔ اُس کے اور یہوداہ کے بادشاہ آسا کے درمیان زندگی بھر جنگ جاری رہی۔

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

لیکن وہ بھی ایسا کام کرتا تھا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا، کیونکہ اُس نے یرُبعام کے نمونے پر چل کر وہ گناہ جاری رکھے جو کرنے پر یرُبعام نے اسرائیل کو اُکسایا تھا۔
