John 16

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

Ταυτα ελαλησα προς εσας δια να μη σκανδαλισθητε.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Θελουσι σας καμει αποσυναγωγους μαλιστα ερχεται ωρα, καθ ην πας οστις σας θανατωση θελει νομισει οτι προσφερει λατρειαν εις τον Θεον.

And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Και ταυτα θελουσι σας καμει, διοτι δεν εγνωρισαν τον Πατερα ουδε εμε.

But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

Αλλα ταυτα ειπον προς εσας δια να ενθυμησθε αυτα, οταν ελθη η ωρα, οτι εγω ειπον προς εσας. Δεν ειπον δε ταυτα προς εσας εξ αρχης, διοτι ημην μεθ υμων.

But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

Τωρα δε υπαγω προς τον πεμψαντα με, και ουδεις εξ υμων με ερωτα Που υπαγεις;

But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Αλλ επειδη ελαλησα προς εσας ταυτα, η λυπη εγεμισε την καρδιαν σας.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Εγω ομως την αληθειαν σας λεγω συμφερει εις εσας να απελθω εγω. Διοτι εαν δεν απελθω, ο Παρακλητος δεν θελει ελθει προς εσας αλλ αφου απελθω, θελω πεμψει αυτον προς εσας

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

και ελθων εκεινος θελει ελεγξει τον κοσμον περι αμαρτιας και περι δικαιοσυνης και περι κρισεως

Of sin, because they believe not on me;

περι αμαρτιας μεν, διοτι δεν πιστευουσιν εις εμε

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

περι δικαιοσυνης δε, διοτι υπαγω προς τον Πατερα μου και πλεον δεν με βλεπετε

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

περι δε κρισεως, διοτι ο αρχων του κοσμου τουτου εκριθη.

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Ετι πολλα εχω να ειπω προς εσας, δεν δυνασθε ομως τωρα να βασταζητε αυτα.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Οταν δε ελθη εκεινος, το Πνευμα της αληθειας, θελει σας οδηγησει εις πασαν την αληθειαν διοτι δεν θελει λαλησει αφ εαυτου, αλλ οσα αν ακουση θελει λαλησει, και θελει σας αναγγειλει τα μελλοντα.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Εκεινος θελει δοξασει εμε, διοτι εκ του εμου θελει λαβει και αναγγειλει προς εσας.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Παντα οσα εχει ο Πατηρ, εμου ειναι δια τουτο ειπον οτι εκ του εμου θελει λαβει και αναγγειλει προς εσας.

A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

Ολιγον ετι και δεν με βλεπετε, και παλιν ολιγον και θελετε με ιδει, διοτι εγω υπαγω προς τον Πατερα.

Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

Τοτε τινες εκ των μαθητων αυτου ειπον προς αλληλους Τι ειναι τουτο, το οποιον μας λεγει, Ολιγον και δεν με βλεπετε, και παλιν ολιγον και θελετε με ιδει, και, Οτι εγω υπαγω προς τον Πατερα;

They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

Ελεγον λοιπον Τουτο τι ειναι, το οποιον λεγει το ολιγον; Δεν εξευρομεν τι λαλει.

Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

Ενοησε λοιπον ο Ιησους οτι ηθελον να ερωτησωσιν αυτον, και ειπε προς αυτους Περι τουτου συζητειτε μετ αλληλων οτι ειπον, Ολιγον και δεν με βλεπετε, και παλιν ολιγον και θελετε με ιδει;

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

Αληθως, αληθως σας λεγω οτι σεις θελετε κλαυσει και θρηνησει, ο δε κοσμος θελει χαρη και σεις θελετε λυπηθη, η λυπη σας ομως θελει μεταβληθη εις χαραν.

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

Η γυνη οταν γεννα, λυπην εχει, διοτι ηλθεν ωρα αυτης αφου ομως γεννηση το παιδιον, δεν ενθυμειται πλεον την θλιψιν, δια την χαραν οτι εγεννηθη ανθρωπος εις τον κοσμον.

And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Και σεις λοιπον τωρα μεν εχετε λυπην παλιν ομως θελω σας ιδει, και θελει χαρη η καρδια σας, και την χαραν σας ουδεις αφαιρει απο σας.

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Και εν εκεινη τη ημερα δεν θελετε ζητησει παρ εμου ουδεν. Αληθως, αληθως σας λεγω οτι οσα αν αιτησητε παρα του Πατρος εν τω ονοματι μου, θελει σας δωσει.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Εως τωρα δεν ητησατε ουδεν εν τω ονοματι μου αιτειτε και θελετε λαμβανει, δια να ηναι πληρης η χαρα σας.

These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

Ταυτα δια παροιμιων ελαλησα προς εσας αλλ ερχεται ωρα, οτε δεν θελω σας λαλησει πλεον δια παροιμιων, αλλα παρρησια θελω σας αναγγειλει περι του Πατρος.

At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

Εν εκεινη τη ημερα θελετε ζητησει εν τω ονοματι μου και δεν σας λεγω οτι εγω θελω παρακαλεσει τον Πατερα περι υμων

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

διοτι αυτος ο Πατηρ σας αγαπα, επειδη σεις ηγαπησατε εμε και επιστευσατε οτι εγω παρα του Θεου εξηλθον.

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Εξηλθον παρα του Πατρος και ηλθον εις τον κοσμον παλιν αφινω τον κοσμον και υπαγω προς τον Πατερα.

His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

Λεγουσι προς αυτον οι μαθηται αυτου Ιδου, τωρα παρρησια λαλεις και, ουδεμιαν παροιμιαν λεγεις.

Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

Τωρα γνωριζομεν οτι εξευρεις παντα και δεν εχεις χρειαν να σε ερωτα τις. Εκ τουτου πιστευομεν οτι απο Θεου εξηλθες.

Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

Απεκριθη προς αυτους ο Ιησους Τωρα πιστευετε;

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Ιδου, ερχεται ωρα, και ηδη ηλθε, να σκορπισθητε εκαστος εις τα ιδια και να αφησητε εμε μονον αλλα δεν ειμαι μονος, διοτι ο Πατηρ ειναι μετ εμου.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Ταυτα ελαλησα προς εσας, δια να εχητε ειρηνην εν εμοι. Εν τω κοσμω θελετε εχει θλιψιν αλλα θαρσειτε, εγω ενικησα τον κοσμον.
