Colossians 3

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Wenn ihr nun mit dem Christus auferweckt worden seid, so suchet, was droben ist, wo der Christus ist, sitzend zur Rechten Gottes.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Sinnet auf das, was droben ist, nicht auf das, was auf der Erde ist;

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

denn ihr seid gestorben, und euer Leben ist verborgen mit dem Christus in Gott.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Wenn der Christus, unser Leben, geoffenbart werden wird, dann werdet auch ihr mit ihm geoffenbart werden in Herrlichkeit.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Tötet nun eure Glieder, die auf der Erde sind: Hurerei, Unreinigkeit, Leidenschaft, böse Lust und Habsucht, welche Götzendienst ist,

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

um welcher Dinge willen der Zorn Gottes kommt über die Söhne des Ungehorsams;

In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

unter welchen auch ihr einst gewandelt habt, als ihr in diesen Dingen lebtet.

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Jetzt aber leget auch ihr das alles ab: Zorn, Wut, Bosheit, Lästerung, schändliches Reden aus eurem Munde.

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Belüget einander nicht, da ihr den alten Menschen mit seinen Handlungen ausgezogen

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

und den neuen angezogen habt, der erneuert wird zur Erkenntnis nach dem Bilde dessen, der ihn erschaffen hat;

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

wo nicht ist Grieche und Jude, Beschneidung und Vorhaut, Barbar, Scythe, Sklave, Freier, sondern Christus alles und in allen.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Ziehet nun an, als Auserwählte Gottes, als Heilige und Geliebte: herzliches Erbarmen, Güte, Demut, Milde, Langmut,

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

einander ertragend und euch gegenseitig vergebend, wenn einer Klage hat wider den anderen; wie auch der Christus euch vergeben hat, also auch ihr.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Zu diesem allen aber ziehet die Liebe an, welche das Band der Vollkommenheit ist.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Und der Friede des Christus regiere in euren Herzen, zu welchem ihr auch berufen worden seid in einem Leibe; und seid dankbar.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Laßt das Wort des Christus reichlich in euch wohnen, indem ihr in aller Weisheit euch gegenseitig lehrend und ermahnend mit Psalmen, Lobliedern und geistlichen Liedern, Gott singend in euren Herzen in Gnade.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Und alles, was immer ihr tut, im Wort oder im Werk, alles tut im Namen des Herrn Jesus, danksagend Gott, dem Vater, durch ihn.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

Ihr Weiber, seid euren Männern unterwürfig, wie es sich geziemt in dem Herrn.

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

Ihr Männer, liebet eure Weiber und seid nicht bitter gegen sie.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Ihr Kinder, gehorchet euren Eltern in allem, denn dies ist wohlgefällig im Herrn.

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Ihr Väter, ärgert eure Kinder nicht, auf daß sie nicht mutlos werden.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

Ihr Knechte, gehorchet in allem euren Herren nach dem Fleische, nicht in Augendienerei, als Menschengefällige, sondern in Einfalt des Herzens, den Herrn fürchtend.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Was irgend ihr tut, arbeitet von Herzen, als dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen,

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

da ihr wisset, daß ihr vom Herrn die Vergeltung des Erbes empfangen werdet; ihr dienet dem Herrn Christus.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Denn wer unrecht tut, wird das Unrecht empfangen, das er getan hat; und da ist kein Ansehen der Person.
