Romans 12

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Niin neuvon minä teitä, rakkaat veljet, Jumalan sydämellisen laupiuden kautta, että te antaisitte teidän ruumiinne eläväksi, pyhäksi ja Jumalalle otolliseksi uhriksi, joka on teidän toimellinen jumalanpalveluksenne.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ja älkäät sovittako teitänne tämän maailman muodon jälkeen, vaan muuttakaat teitänne teidän mielenne uudistuksen kautta, että te koettelisitte, mikä Jumalan hyvä, otollinen ja täydellinen tahto olis.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Sillä minä sanon siitä armosta, joka minulle annettu on, jokaiselle, joka teidän seassanne on, ettei yksikään itsestänsä enempää pitäisi kuin hänen tulee pitää; vaan pitäkään kohtuullisesti itsestänsä sen jälkeen kuin Jumala on kullekin uskon mitan jakanut.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

Sillä niinkuin meillä on yhdessä ruumiissa monta jäsentä, mutta ei kaikilla jäsenillä ole yhtäläinen työ,

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Niin mekin olemme monta yksi ruumis Kristuksessa, mutta keskenämme olemme me toinen toisemme jäsenet.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

Ja meillä ovat moninaiset lahjat siitä armosta, kuin meille annettu on. Jos jollakin on prophetia, niin olkoon uskon kanssa yhteinen.

Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

Jos jollakin on joku virka, niin pitäkään virastansa vaarin. Jos joku opettaa, niin ottakaan opetuksestansa vaarin.

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Jos joku neuvoo, niin pitäkään neuvostansa vaarin. Jos joku antaa, niin antakaan yksinkertaisuudessa. Jos joku hallitsee, niin pitäkään siitä murheen. Jos joku armahtaa, niin tehkään sen ilolla,

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Olkoon rakkaus vilpitöin. Vihatkaat pahaa ja riippukaat kiinni hyvässä.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Veljellinen rakkaus olkoon sydämellinen teidän keskenänne. Ennättäkään toinen toisensa kunniaa tekemässä.

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Älkäät olko hitaat töissänne. Olkaat palavat hengessä. Palvelkaat Herraa.

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Olkaat toivossa iloiset, kärsivälliset murheessa. Olkaat alati rukouksissa.

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Jakakaat omanne pyhäin tarpeeksi. Ottakaat mielellänne huoneesen.

Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Siunatkaat vainollisianne: siunatkaat ja älkäät sadatelko.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Iloitkaat iloisten kanssa, ja itkekäät itkeväisten kanssa.

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Olkaat keskenänne yksimieliset. Älkäät itsestänne paljon pitäkö, vaan pitäkäät teitänne nöyräin kaltaisena. Älkäät itsiänne ylen viisaina pitäkö.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

Älkäät kellenkään pahaa pahalla kostako. Ahkeroitkaat sitä, mikä kunniallinen on kaikkein ihmisten edessä.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Jos mahdollinen on, niin paljo kuin teissä on, niin pitäkäät rauha kaikkein ihmisten kanssa.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Älkäät itse kostako, minun rakkaani, vaan antakaat (Jumalan) vihan siaa saada. Sillä kirjoitettu on: minun on kosto, minä tahdon kostaa, sanoo Herra.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Sentähden, jos vihollises isoo, niin syötä häntä, ja jos hän janoo, niin juota häntä; sillä koskas tämän teet, niin sinä tuliset hiilet hänen päänsä päälle kokoot.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Älä anna sinuas voitettaa pahalta, vaan voita sinä paha hyvällä.
